This is a great addition to the Guitar Hero series. To the person who gave it one star because he didn't like the songs, well the set list is available before you buy it so maybe you should learn to do a little looking around before you spend money on a video game. Actually the set list is AMAZING because it has a little something for everyone. I can't believe the stupidity of some people, why throw away $60 on a game without even looking into. Any video game that i am going to shell $60 out for I can guarantee I have checked reviews online, and gotten as much info as possible. Unless you like throwing away money I would suggest looking into your games before you buy them and giving it one star JUST because YOU didn't like the set list makes no sense. You didn't even review the game and the new features.
Unlike previous versions of the Guitar Hero series, in which players must work through a career mode to unlock all the songs in the game, all songs in Guitar Hero 5 are unlocked and are playable in any mode from the start. However, a Career mode is presented in the game, similar to Guitar Hero: Metallica, in which players acquire a number of stars from their performances in earlier venues to unlock new venues. The song order within the venues remains the same regardless of the number of players or the instruments played. Venues are generally ordered by overall song difficulty; songs become more difficult in later venues.
Also with the first pressing of the game you get a code to get the unreleased Guitar Hero Van Halen, this is a HUGE plus.

Best Guitar Hero Game Yet

This is an outstanding game. It has a huge selection of song choices from a wide variety of genres. In career mode, you're no longer forced to play some song that you've never heard of or absolutely hate. The custom character creation is great. However, be warned that the level of difficulty jumps dramatically between levels of experience (i.e. Medium, Hard, Expert).

This game is a good addition to the franchise and the downloadable content is a definite plus as there are good songs online ready for download.

Before you drop $60 on a music game, maybe you should look up the tracklist first. If you don't like the track list don't buy it. Simple as that.

Don't give something a 1 out 5 stars, because you failed to do a little research before your purchase.

This is the worst Guitar Hero we have ever gotten. There are very few songs that you have actually heard of before. The only reason I am not completely livid about buying it is because we will get the Guitar Hero Van Halen for free. That is the only reason I am not completely mad at wasting money for this game. I have loved all the Guitar Hero games but this is absoolutely horrible. At least it isn't a complete waste of money - we will get a free game out of the deal. This is very dissapointing. They are just trying to get new ones out as fast as they can to get money...they obviously couldn't get any good songs on such short notice with the licensing. HORRIBLE!
