I really love aerosmith so I looked forward to this game forever. At first I really liked it but the first few tiers weren't challenging at all. The last ones get harder but it's still nothing like GH3.
I was disappointed in the lack of songs for this game, 31 on the set list doesn't seem like enough when you pay the same price as GH3.
On the up side, the graphics are awesome and there are different types of songs so you'll likely find something you really like.
Overall this game is pretty good but there definitely could be some improvements.

Best Graphics of any GH game. Another cool feature is the different places you can go to. I like the superbowl halftime show the best. The only problem is that there is only 31 songs on the main setlist. Overall a great game!

Slow Songs At First

I bought the game today and was really excited to start playing. But was a bit disappointed in the selection of the first 4 songs. They seemed to be really slow (beat) and a bit boring. But after playing the rest of the songs I started to really love the selection of the songs. They were really what I was expecting from Guitar Hero games. Plus the interviews of the band was cool. Really liked the camera action when playing as Aerosmith.

When I learned that Guitar Hero: Aerosmith was coming out, I figured it would be a nice addition to my Guitar Hero collection. However, I was more pleased with the songs from the 'opening acts' than I was with the headliner tunes from Aerosmith. It lacks "Jaded" and "Janie's Got A Gun", as well as their cover of the Beatles' "Come Together" which totally rocked, but I can see omitting it since that would've been an extra license that would've had to have been secured.
What makes this game special to me are the inclusion of songs for the 'opening acts' which you play before Aerosmith comes out.
The Black Crows' "Hard To Handle", Joan Jett's "I Hate Myself For Loving You", The Cult's "She Sells Sanctuary", "Se x Type Thing" by Stone Temple Pilots and "All Day And All Of The Night" by The Kinks are just great rocking songs which should've been added to the library long ago. It would be nice to see any of them 'upgraded' to a new game with vocals and drums (either under the Guitar Hero or Rock Band banners).
It's nice that the game's gotten a price drop. More people will probably check it out, now.

Aerosmith On A Whole New Level

Compared to Guitar hero 1, 2, and 3: Legends Of Rock, Guitar hero Aerosmith has the best graphics. The game is so enhanced, you can almost see the sweat on Steven Tyler's face! The game has a very interesting plot, and shows you the history of Aerosmith, from their first gig to the big half-time show. As you progress through Career Mode, you see interviews from the actual Aerosmith themselves, describing each gig and what happened. Activision really went all out to give you the real Aerosmith exerience!
The only thing that dissapointed me was the small setlist of 31 songs, including the bonus ones. The other Guitar Hero games had more. There were many more Aerosmith hits they could have and should have added. That's what brings the rating down from a 5-star to a 4-star.
But that is no reason why you shouldn't rush out and get this game today! If you love Aerosmith, and you love Guitar Hero, I don't think you're going to find anything better! If you are seriously thinking of buying this game, you should get your copy soon. They're going to sell out fast!

I have most of the guitar hero games and I got this recently and should have gotten it sooner..it cost $19.99 now and I thought it was just as good or better than paying 40 or 50 bones a game..but if you got 20 bucks... go get it and it will be money well spent

I really like the fact that some old Aerosmith songs from the 70's are on this game. That is my favorite Aerosmith era. I am disappointed that there are only 6 levels and 31 songs to beat overall. Don't GH 1, 2, and 3 have more songs? Do I smell a GH Aerosmith 2 in the future? Too many good songs to not release another game. Hardest song is Walk This Way, believe it or not.

This is a great game. Aerosmith is an amazing "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame" band. The game contains great aerosmith songs like "Sweet Emotion" and "Walk This Way". The cons are that the format of the game looks just like GH3 but with different backrounds. Also, there are non-Aerosmith songs that can be boring (in my opinion). I recommend this game to anyone who likes the Guitar Hero series and people who like to rock out to Aerosmith!

Now, I am not telling this game is awesome just because I am a guitar hero fan. This game is actually good. This is a very SUNNY game. It is actually going to play songs of Aerosmith versing the three awesome players you can be. There is Joe Perry, Brad Whitford and Tom Hamilton. You get to perform the same venues Aerosmith once did, (as in like same events). So go get the game.

I'll start off by saying if you are an Aerosmith fan, you will absolutely love this game. I don't fit in that category. I like Aerosmith, but after 1 or 2 songs I'm done. The songs by other artists that were included were much more enjoyable, but the whole game came up short over all. We got bored with it fairly quickly and went back to playing the previous releases of guitar hero. I wasn't worth what I paid for it.
