This is a good expansion of the series for fans of Aerosmith. They will appreciate the videos of the band reflecting on events in the history of the band.

This game was basically an expansion to guitar hero 3. Almost exactly half of the songs are aerosmith songs. It was much easier than every other guitar hero, with a grand total of about 2 difficult songs.
The only important difference between this game and guitar hero 3 are the hammer-ons and pull-offs. They work the same way they did in gh2, where the hammer-on doesn't count if you hit the fret button too early.
Overall it's a pretty sweet game especially if you like aerosmith, however I don't think it's worth the money right now ($60). Wait for it to come down a bit.

Graphics are great. the band looks pretty realistic. the song list is good, though some of them I could have done without, however there are not as many songs as on previous titles. While some of the bands signature songs are here, there are also some lesser known ones that could have been replaced with much better ones, but that's just my opinion. the controls are the same as guitar hero 3 and have pretty much the same sensitivity in regards to timing, which is a good thing. overall I am very pleased with this one. If you're looking for a really fun game, "walk this way"!!

I really liked this installment of Gh though it's more of a party game. the graphics were well done with great sound quallity and key registry. i especially liked how the croud was integrated into the songs on career mode where they would sing along like at a real concert. all in all a well done game looking forward to the next.

You get what you expect

Guitar Hero Aerosmith is great game, supposing you loved the previous Guitar Heroes, like most everyone did. Just be forewarned, there really is nothing but Aerosmith (excluding the remixes). I know this seems like an obvious point, but I've known a few people who didn't expect this for some reason, and were dissapointed. So remember, you get what you pay for.
On a brighter note, this still has exciting Guitar Hero action that we've come to expect from the series. Easy playability for beginner players, and for more experienced shredders, absolutely insane finger tapping solos. Also, as an Aerosmith fan, it feels pretty darn good to rock out with Steve Tyler and the boys. So really, this game rides on the fact that you like Aerosmith, and you like Guitar Hero. If both of these are true, then you'll love this game.
There is still one major issue for me that has remained from previous Guitar Hero games. Some of the hammers in the songs are insanely liberal. By this, I mean, there is a large margin of error to be able to hit the notes at the right time. During the more complicated portions of the pieces, I feel like I'm just hitting whatever frets I want to, and it counts as correct for the game. Having come from lots of Rock Band, this is a little bit dissapointing, since it doesn't help me improve. Though, it still kinda feels cool to get them all right. I would just prefer a system that was a little strict.
All in all, a good game. Just know what you're buying when you buy it, and you'll be very happy.

over all this is an awesome game and i really enjoy the songs of both aerosmith and run dmc. but i beat this game in less than one day and the worst part about this game is that there were not enough songs. there are 31 in the setlist and about 9 in the vault. there is only one battle which is awesome too.

Got this game on sale/price drop for $20. i would say it isnt worth more than $20, so if u want this game, its now in the price range u should buy it at. the game was extremely easy on the Easy mode. i 5 stared all but 2 songs first way through and gold stared 5 songs. and i wasnt even trying very hard. didnt expect much outa this game from the reviews, and now i know that it lives up to what everyone else is saying.
If your an achievement getter, this is a great game to grab some easy points. beat it on easy w/ tutorial and u should have 250 points in 3 hours or less.

If you're not a fan of Aerosmith, this new version of Guitar Hero might not be for you. Sure it plays exactly like the huge hit Guitar Hero 3, but like last year's Guitar Hero: Rocks the 80s, it has a very narrow focus in terms of its track list.
There are 41 songs on Guitar Hero: Aerosmith. 31 of those are Aerosmith songs (with a few being Joe Perry solo songs). That means 10 are from other artists, such as Cheap Trick, Ted Nugent, The Clash, Stone Temple Pilots, and others. A few of those songs have even been used already in Rock Band (The Clash and STP songs are downloadable), and they were first with "Train Kept a Rollin'," though it's a cover version in Rock Band and the master track is used here.
In the end, it comes down to whether you're a big fan of Aerosmith, or that it's simply a new Guitar Hero and you need to get it (I'm guilty of that one). There's no downloadable content for GH: Aerosmith, so what you get on the disc is what you get for good. An upside is that the achievements for the XBox 360 version are much easier to get than most of GH3's very difficult ones. It's not a must-buy, but it's still a pretty fun game.

Great Game, Price Not So Great

Like any other Guitar Hero games, this game is extremely fun and hard to put down. There are plenty of great songs not only from Aerosmith, but from the "Opening Acts." The only downfall I can see with this game is that there are not a whole of songs, which is disappointing considering they will no be releasing any downloads for this game in the future. The price should be more like 39.99 for what you're getting.

Overall it was a good game. They should have made it so you can download new songs as in guitar hero 3 "legends of rock", because the song count is very few and playing the same old songs after awhile get very boring. The song difficulty was good. I wouldnt recommend this to my family or freinds though because they didnt do to great of a job on the game.

Doesn't Live Up

After having played Guitar Hero II and III, I was expecting big things from this game. Unfortunately, it doesn't live up. First off, it was way too easy. I was able to complete all but two songs on medium with a five star rating the first time. In previous games, that would have never happened. Secondly, the playlist was just good. It wasn't anywhere near as good as I was hoping and the songs that weren't Aerosmith songs were disappointing. But at least they are coming out with World Tour so hopefully they will restore my faith in the Guitar Hero franchise.

This is a great guitar hero game.It may look the same as giutar hero 3 and has sort of the same storyline but is still a great game.About 70% of the songs are from aerosmith and 100% of them are good.
The graphics on the characters look just like real aerosmith.
Overall the game is great and worth your money.I recommend this game to all gamers or to people who want a fun game and want to rock.
Thanks for reading.

I really enjoy Guitar Hero Aerosmith. It has is basically all Aerosmith songs that you have heard before. The sound and graphics are the same as Guitar Hero 3. This game takes you from their first high school gig to the world tour to the Super Bowl half time show and all the way to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. GHA has many great songs and I don't think you should miss out on this great game.

ROCK THIS WAY!!!!

If you are an Aerosmith fan, this is a must have! Fun storyline, band interviews, and awesome music! I was very disappointed that some of my personal favorites were not included (Eat the Rich, Get a Grip, Dude Looks Like a Lady), but Sweet Emotion, Love in an Elevator, Rag Doll, Pink, and Walk This Way TOTALLY make up for it! The avatars are a lot of fun- it is a little distracting from the gameplay since you want to watch the band! My only peeve with the game was the "opening acts" when you first start career play- you have to play through two non-Aerosmith songs before you can play their songs (which is a bummer when you're ready to rock out to them!). But, overall, this was well thought out and a lot of fun! I cant wait for new band-themed games! Bring on GH Metallica!!!
