With the 24 hr streaming GHTV makes this a true game changer. There is also a TON of on disc music. Easy setup, playable right out of the box, no dlc transfers or long updates.

This is probably the best GH game to date, really cool how you can play along to real music videos and th crowds are real when playing live. I am not crazy about the button layout at all. Old way worked just fine, why change it? Don't get this thinking you will jump into expert mode like you did with all other GH games because it probably won't happen for awhile. I find myself struggling with some songs on regular mode.

I bought this game super excited to get my GH on. After playing a while I finally got used to the different fret layout. While playing, it feels a lot more like you are fingering chords on a guitar compared with the previous controller. However, sometimes I feel the response isn't the best. There are frequent times when I have repeated notes and I somehow miss a chunk in the middle even though I never moved my hand. I think the controller build is a bit cheap for what it costs, but it detracts from the fun only minimally. Just don't try to get 100% on a song and you'll be fine. On a different note, the single player game mode is AWESOME. You are playing a live concert with your cover band and the crowd and your bandmates' reactions change depending on whether you are doing well or you are doing badly. When you do well, the crowd is super engaged and the band is rocking out having a good time. When you are doing badly, the crowd boos or acts bored and entirely uninterested, and your bandmates give you looks of disapproval and mouth, "come on, man!" at you in disappointment. This was my favorite part of the game by far.

I bought both rockband 4 and guitar hero live. Overall I think rockband is ok, has difficulty importing songs and the whole 5 year expiration on the codes is absurd. However the guitar hero live is a great improvement on the industry the guitar buttons are different from other games and they are more challenging. The story mode is short but this game was more focused on the online portion that anything else. The online changes songs frequently and you compete against other players to see who can get the highest score

Love the game but wasn't impressed by the music on this game. The former games had excellent music. We beat it pretty quick on easy and normal. But expert is hard. I liked the 5 buttons better but my husband prefers the newer guitars with the 3 buttons stacked.

The game is fun. GHTV is cool. The live mode is kinda cheesy. The gameplay is updated with a more realistic feel. Buying the 2 pack bundle is like getting the 2nd guitar as a back up. As every connected guitar needs to be on a unique profile, the hoops you have to jump through to play with a friend is annoying.

I've been playing the GH series since the original came out about 10 years ago now. I must say that I do enjoy most of the new features. The new guitar does take quite awhile to get used to after building up a decade's worth of muscle memory but it does feel more like playing a real guitar. Playing to live crowds is really cool and the new GHTV is fun (think of it like playing to music videos on MTV). The only gripes that I have is that I wish there was a little more time in between songs (in Live mode you play three songs back-back-back like an actual set and there's only like 30 seconds between songs in GHTV) and that there are only ~42 songs in quick play in Live mode -- the rest are in GHTV and you have to either earn enough points by playing or pay to pick a song instead of playing random music videos. The only other gripe (and it's more of a personal preference than anything) that I have is that there aren't many classic rock songs like previous versions -- most of them are modern pop songs which is fine to a point but I do miss some of the oldies.

It's good. The new button layout is interesting. I think I like it but I'm not sure yet. I like being able to see the music video of the song you're playing. In all honesty, if I didn't live in an apartment where I'm afraid to make too much noise I would have went with Rock Band 4 so I could play the drums.

At first it is really hard, but after you get the hang of it it's really fun, almost feel like a real guitar. Only negative point is no streaming possible, your friends can't watch you play, share feature is unusable here? Why? Other than that the game is fun just keep practicing.

Me and my wife have been waiting for this game for a long time. As soon as we heard it was coming out we starting reading all about it and it didn't disappoint. The guitars add more difficulty then the old ones and the song selection is great I would recommend this for anyone that used to play the old games and for new players alike

This new version of Guitar Hero is exactly what you'd expect, with the new added challenge of learning the new button layout. It gets pretty challenging on the higher up difficulties. Disappointed that they were only a little over 40 songs on launch.

Changed guitar/button layout changes game play and adds a new challenge to an old favorite. Unfortunately there's no way to load previous song purchases, so that's a downside. But, we're really enjoying the new format.

The new guitar hero has totally revamped the guitars and game play. The guitars only need 3 fingers to play but there's the addition of frets which makes it feel more realistic. The game is alright but I'm not a huge fan of the lack of classic rock hits. There's playlists where you can play back to back songs which can be fun or super lame "tv mode". When it comes to finding and choosing music you want to play, it will cost you points which you can win by playing the "tv mode" or many other ways. If you're trying to rock out all night and choose all the songs you'll have a problem but if you're only playing a few games back to back then you shouldn't run into not having the tokens to do so. Overall I love the new guitar but the game is just ok.

I still remember my parents buying me Guitar hero for my PS2! When I found out they were going to be releasing another Guitar Hero, I knew I needed to get my hands on it. A couple of days ago I found out they were going to be offering 18 months special financing and rather then get the PS3 version of the game, I decided to upgrade and get a PS4 and the new Guitar Hero Live. Best game ever! Even though the controller has changed, its still what I remember. I can literally play for hours. I especially like GHTV. Back to back sons with their music videos. Anyone debating on whether to get it or not should just take the plunge. It'll be worth every penny!

I was excited for another Guitar Hero and still am!! The much anticipated game didn't let me down! I have already had hours of fun with the family. I was concerned the buttons would take some getting used to, but it feels great once you get the hang of it! Two rock-n-roll thumbs up!

Great for the family but suprisingly hard to get a hang of for the younger ones. The 13 year old slowly worked her way up over the period of 4 weeks from basic to medium. Still a lot of fun
