Customers are positive about the gameplay, new guitar design, and ease of use, with many praising the improved controller and button layout. However, customers are negative about the game's difficulty and the steeper learning curve compared to previous versions. Some also experienced issues with lag, particularly online. The game is amazing! The graphics are terrific, songs and great! It's about time there was change in guitar hero!

If you played the original guitar hero, this is a better updated version. This version has newer songs and better visuals but the same gameplay as before. It is great fun for the whole family, but it is more of a fun game rather than something to help learn guitar such as games like Rocksmith.

I really love Guitar Hero, but this one does not have the best songs. It's still fun to play, but I think they are more geared toward the TV(online) aspect of the game than the Live(normal mode) aspect and the quality of songs.

Loving this game. The new guitar plays beautifully and has a slightly more realistic feel for an actual guitar player. I love that I have to re-learn how to play. The TV feature is cool but I do get sick of the song choices and needing to pay to play what I want is a bit of a bummer.

I was a bit surprised, I thought this was a dead game genre but they reminded me again why we all fell in love with the guitar hero games. The new button layout takes a bit to get used to but still a fun, great game to play with your friends and enjoy some good tracks!

As a musician I came to really enjoy the music oriented games such as the Guitar Hero series and have played a vast majority of them. In my opinion the game itself has continued to develop and certainly has met my expectations...however, the guitar controller itself has changed in an odd way to me. For starters there's now only 3 buttons wide as opposed to the previous 5, in addition to those 3 wide they separated them into top and bottom. So now you have 6 tiny buttons in a 3 button wide space, so that takes some getting used to especially if you played a lot of the older Guitar Hero games. You almost have to relearn the game. In addition, while playing there does seem to be the ever so slight lag between the time you press the button to the game registering the button combo, so if you are on a good streak and happen to get that slight time off it will likely break your streak.

The new button layout takes a while to get used to but once you do, it's more fun than the old way. Game is pretty short but the ghtv lets you play more current songs and extends the life of the game

This Guitar Hero game is very fun. It features a new, 3x2 button configuration on the neck to simulate chording and more of how a guitar is laid out. The song selection is subjective, but for my tastes lack a majority of songs of my taste. The ability to play new tracks within its new mode is where I strongly dislike it. You must play tracks that you've already played, or dislike, to unlock ONE PLAY for a new track that is within the new mode. That sucks. Overall the gameplay is fun, but unfortunately the cumbersome way to unlock preferred songs ruins the experience.

Good and fun but it is either too easy or too hard. Need more in between levels. I liked the cartoon type characters vs real people but it does look realistic. For those good at the game it seems it will be even more fun. Maybe I will get there soon

I was wary of the new button layout on the guitar at first, but it's very comfortable and easier to use than the old style IMO, once you get used to it. The Live mode is the star of the game, feels like you're playing along to an old-school MTV.

It took sometime to get used to the new button layout but if your not motivated to learn the new style you might not like it. Don't worry if the crowd dies because even with a few mess ups your score might be ok. Lots of songs to play to!

The songs on this game are phenomenal but the new guitar design is very hard to get used to so my guys aren't playing it as much as I'd like for them to. The old style guitar is still the better choice if you aren't a guitarist.

Guitar Hero Live is a great new addition to the GH line. The new guitar layout makes for different combinations that were never done before. Live video footage in the backgrounds keep the game exciting and fresh.

New guitar is more challenging and better looking. The live aspect is much better than an animated crowd but it's hard to watch them because you're concentrating on hitting every mark! I guess it gives others something better to watch. Your band members feedback for when you're doing good or bad make you really want to try that much harder!

The live aspect was interesting compared to the older guitar hero games, but overall I don't the older games more fun to play. The live music video tv channel gives the game some added reason to come back and play, but the main story felt pretty short. I think the main missing component would be playing other instruments with friends which makes Rock Band sound more appealing and the change of the guitar button layout was overall positive, but added a much harder learning curve. I found the game still fun to play, but would recommend more when it's on sale.
