I was always a huge GH fan but there is something really special about this version. The live aspect just gives you that extra level of immersion. Only downside is there seems to be an issue of slowdown in certain instances that can throw off your rhythm. Hopefully a patch can take care of that.

I enjoy the GHTV mode more than the Live mode. I just wish the guitar stayed the same to be able to use other instruments and have them be compatible with RB, and just be able to do vocals only without a guitar player. But, if you like the past games you will probably enjoy this one as well.

Excellent graphics, song choices and improved guitar controller. Online options give it unlimited replay potential. Best entry in the series to date.

A Fresh Perspective of a Jammin' Series

I enjoy the Guitar Hero games. Staring from II all the way to Warriors of Rock, Guitar hero has always provided a good time to rock out on a plastic instrument. However, being an expert at those games means nothing in GH Live. This game feels like it's starting something new and (no pun intended) alive. Gone are your cartoony, disproportionate, over-the-top avatars and now you are playing to a POV perspective in a "live" concert. You will need to get used to the new controller layout and understand that you may need to practice. When you mess up, the crowd and your fellow band mates will look at you like you have had a labotomy and be ultimately dissaponted in you. When trying to learn the new guitar and witnessing my failure, I couldn't help but laugh at their reactions. I quickly came to a stark realization that I might just not be ready to jump to expert right away. It's fun to play with friends and I think the song selection is pretty solid (even if you need to play to unlock them all instead of having all the songs from the get-go). Overall, I think it's a great new start to a series that lost its thunder and started to feel stale. Now I have another plastic guitar and remember the pain from playing too much and having excessive hand cramps. Great game, great fun!

Haven't played a guitar hero game in quite some time, I believe Guitar Hero 3 was my last, got this guy on sale for $20 and what a deal that was, been having a blast with the game, bought an extra guitar controller for $10 and me and my wife play together which is fun, but it is a bit of a pain having to hook up the USB dongles to the console, 1 isn't a problem, but the 2nd has to be plugged in the back and then I didn't have enough USB ports so had to unplug my external HD and install the game localy. Anyways, game is great fun, just bummed the wireless controller dongles can't pick up more than 1 guitar.

As the owner of many of the original GH and Rock Band games, I was just hoping that the new GH Live would be as good. Turns out it's better in several ways. First of all, the new button layout on the guitar is far better. It takes a little getting used to, but once you get the knack it's much more realistic than five buttons in a row.
The "TV" section of the game is addicting and has me always wanting to see what the next song will be before I stop, and the "live" game is also fun. If you liked the original GH you'll like this even more.

Great game! Guitar is easy to use, even for beginner. My family and I spent about two hours playing this game the same day I brought it home.

Guitar hero is a must have for any console. It’s a fun game that everyone loves. The one thing that I did not like as much (comparing Xbox One to Wii) was that with the Xbox One guitar it did not have big colorful buttons. Other than that no complaints.

The game is amazing and filled with newer songs. The new guitar setup takes a few tries to get use to it but makes the game more complex

This game is good for music fans and the casual gamer. The live mode is fun and different from the other GH's and Rock Band's. If you liked the other GH's or are looking for a fun party game, this is a good choice. Just wish they had added drums for the full band experience.

I appreciate their effort to make the guitar more realistic - or as realistic as one can with a plastic guitar. But I personally prefer the old set up of the 5 colored buttons, I feel like I can play faster.
Still enjoy it though, and is fun - try buying on sale though.

The game is fun. The inclusion of a "real" crowd adds to the experience, but the ability to play online music videos is not nearly as exciting as it should be. A big step in the right direction. At the very least, GH now has a different feel than Rock Band.
