Rock with the band Metallica or play along with the many other songs offered on the same game, most of which are pretty good. Metal fans along with those that enjoy the Guitar Hero franchise will no doubt have the most fun with this as replay value is high. Glad to see trophies are right in and ready for collecting. All in all, a good add to your PS3 collection.

I jumped right into playing at the Hard level as I usually do to get a feel for how the songs were layed out and played for an hour and a half non-stop. The sound quality was great and the songs were as hard as I anticipated them to be at that difficulty setting. I unlocked a few songs already by earning trophies and look forward to putting in countless hours on this latest version of my favorite game. Being a Die Hard Metallica fan, this game was well worth the wait and any fan of the band will not be disappointed by the selction of material. The only thing I wish was included would have been the ability to import customized rockers created in GH World Tour . I am going to have to create a few new ones for this game and that is a problem because it is time consuming and takes away from the time you will want to spend jamming out to the great Metallica songs on the game.

I am a huge Metallica fan and I love playing the musical games on my PS3 (have both Rock Bands and Guitar Hero World Tour). I was surpised at the sheer number of fantastic Metallica song included in the game, as well as some really great songs by various other artists hand picked by the Metallica guys themselves. I played this game on my ION drum rocker and even though there's one less "track" it was still a challenge for me. I was able to barely complete the game on the "Hard" difficulty. I have a double kick-pedal setup coming and will give the Expert+ difficulty a try just to see how it performs. The cut-scenes, animations, and Metallica characters are done very well. I also loved the special arenas and the occasion for James to yell into the mic before a song started, nice touch. The only thing that isn't up to snuff on the game is that there is only the Death Magnetic DLC that you can play on the game. None of the other GHWT DLC is available to use on the game. If you figure in that each song would cost you $2 to purchase and download, then this game is well worth the songs it comes with for that purpose only.

If Your A Metallica Fan Like Me, This Game Will Make You Cry On Every Solo, This Is One Of The Best Guitar Heroes Of The Series. Metallica Is The Most Perfect Band For This Type Of Game, Every Thing They Put In The Game Resembles To What They Do And What Goes On In Their Shows In Real Life Which Is Like The Fudge Topping When It Comes To All This Brilliancy Of This Incredible Game That Every Note Also Resembles To The Real Notes, If Your Even A Fan Of Any Of The Guitar Hero Series This One Is The One I Would Recommend Out Of Them All To Any One. So Screw Rock band, Go Pick Yourself Up Guitar Hero Metallica And The Band Set From Guitar Hero World Tour And Like It Say's, ...Ride The Lightning.

Can't believe I waited this long to review this game. This version of Guitar Hero is the best one ever. I bleed Metallica riffs and was very scared they would portray the band in a bad way or not thoroughly include the right catalog of songs. WOW. They did an outstanding, better-than-expected job. This game touches on all the classics. Also the bands accompanying Metallica were handpicked by the group themselves. I have been a lifelong fan of Metallica since the 80's and I was beyond pleased and shocked at how amazing this game is. Not to mention the sound thats incredible. The only thing better than this game is seeing them live. ROCK ON!!!!

I have been a fan of Metallica since they first hit the scene in the early 1980's. Yes, I am that old. LOL If you like Mettalica and enjoy GH at all, you will love this game. It has alot of their best songs and a bunch the guys from Metallica picked out for the game. One of the best effects in the game for me is when the entire screen (except for the play field) bounces from a heavy bass beat. It moves the picture in and out as if effected by the bass sound. Really nice effect. There is also alot of cool unlockables for fans, such as concert footage. My best game purchase so far for PS3.

This game is AWESOME...BUT, it is really difficult even on "EASY." My husband and I are huge Metallica fans so of course the game is ultra cool, however, it is a really tough game to play. Admittedly, we are not "gamers," however we do have Guitar Hero 1 & 2 and I generally use the "EASY" level just to mess around and have fun. The "EASY" level on this game I would consider at least "MEDIUM" on the other games. Reason being, you have to use the first 3 buttons and there is VERY little space between each note. My recommendation...if you are a Metallica fan, you must get the game (just to have it), but if you are just looking for an additional version to "mess" with, be prepared for a tougher game. I've honestly not even tried the tougher levels...I might break the machine. This is the reason the "fun" level for me is a "3"...it's a bit more frustrating than fun.

This is still an excellent game out of all of the Guitar Hero games I've played. I like how it shows how many stars you have while playing the song. It doesn't have Ride The Lightning and that was one of the other earlier great songs that Metallica has made. I've beaten the game on expert with guitar and i need to five star like five more songs and well its giving me a challenge and well im glad it does. This game is worth getting if someone is a true Metallica fan or just an awesome dedicated Guitar Hero gamer.

From the very first song this game grabs you. I am just afraid that my schoolwork is going to suffer over the next month as I attempt to complete the game on expert. Not only because of the time I will spend playing it, but also because my fingers may fall off. It's awesome, buy it.

This is basically another gh game, but with metallica in it. That's the only reason i bought it, overall the music is really good, and for those die hard metallica fans, u will not be dissapointed.

im a huge fan of the guitar hero series, but im a bigger fan of metallica. the gameplay is awesome and i recommend it to anyother guitar hero fan or metallica fan.

I like Metallica, and I was hoping for this game to be great. I was a little disappointed. Just like any other game on the ps3, the graphics are crystal clear and outstanding, but there are not alot of new features, and the venues weren't as great as the previous guitar heros.The game was just a little fun in my opinion, and even though I gave it 3 stars, I would probably not recommend it to anybody, except for hardcore Metallica fans.
