    Disappointed

I got these thinking that the lenses would be at least decently durable - I kept them in the cloth "case" it came with and it hasn't dropped. I have gained a lot of specks in the lenses since my purchase (not even a week ago). The lenses smudge like mad that even a microfiber cloth barely does anything to it (needing a shirt to actually wipe any smudges off). Instead of reducing any pains, I gained a couple headaches from these glasses plus it would pinch and create discomfort on the bridge of my nose. The arms of the glasses also hugged a bit too tightly to my head than what I preferred (but did go beneath my Turtle Beach x11 headset with no problem). The only good thing from it was the fact it did contrast the screen which was nice as it made some things stick out more. They are lightweight which was nice - and would have been grand since I do wearing hearing aids and would have worked well for the computer. One final complaint was that after having taken the glasses off - the light would kill my eyes horribly.

I was a bit skeptical about getting these type of Gunnars the price at first made me look away but as soon as they were on sale I got my hands on them. I'm primarily a heavy FPS gamer and I bought these because my contrast on my monitor is very high. As soon as I put them on you can tell the difference don't be alarm if you first start seeing everything with the yellow tint you will accustom to it within 1-2 hours of use. Don't buy this glasses thinking you will get an edge in gaming by seeing everything a lot clearer because you won't but the less pressure you put on your eyes with excessive time in front of a monitor or TV then your eyes won't be as tired which is a PLUS.

I bought these with the intent of using them for computer purposes rather the gaming. The magnification in the glasses causes a lot of discomfort to the point where after a few hours of wearing them my eyesight would be all messed up accompanied with headaches etc. This might just be my eyes however, so the product might work well for others but it did not for me.

Not just for video game players

I work in the IT field, so I spend 8+ hours a day in front of a computer screen. I get headaches and mental fatigue often as a result. I also wear contact lenses, which amplifies the problem. I started looking into eyewear that would possibly help eliminate the above issues. I am happy to say that I have found that product. Initially, the price seemed a little high, but after doing some research, these are actually a great deal. Walk into any eye doctor and try and buy something comparable, and you'll easily spend a couple hundred dollars. If you think about it the amber tint on the lenses makes sense; it filters wavelengths of light that are harsh on the eyes. While I am also a gamer (not hardcore or anything, but I enjoy playing them to relax), I mainly bought these to help alleviate headaches and eyestrain. They have eliminated both. In my opinion, the price is fair and the fact that I can do my job without eye fatigue is priceless. I'd recommend the these to anyone that works on computers (or plays video games) for an extended period of time. You will not be disappointed.

I've been skeptical to buy these for about a year now. What finally got me to try these was that I found that my eyes get's teary after gaming on my xbox 360 and my TV being less then 6 feet away from me. My eye's would get teary even if my TV's setting was on theater mode, LED backlight set on low, and ambient sensor on. After a week of using my gunnar optiks, I do not suffer from eyes getting teary. Also I set my TV's setting back to it's brightest setting with LED backlight set high, ambient sensor off, and theater mode off and my eye's do not get teary. Other FYI, because the tint is yellow, movies and color scheme has a warm color to them. Also there is a small magnification so letters on a computer or any screen looks a little bigger and more spaced out. Bottom line, I highly recommend these if you do suffer from eye fatigue from gaming or any screen activity.

So I've looked at the reviews for these glasses on a number of sites and became convinced to purchase them today. For anyone that sits in front of a computer or television, whether it's for business or pleasure, these are a fantastic option to reduce glare and increase clarity. Since I do play games on a PC and Xbox these are a viable option. As soon as I put them on I could tell the difference. Much less glare and the images became more clear without dulling the color. I highly recommend these for anyone. I'm not getting any headaches after sitting in front of a screen for an hour or more and it's made working and playing much more comfortable. Definitely a great purchase if you can get past the initial price shock.

    Not just for gaming

At first I thought Gunnar Eyewear were just cool shades that teens wanted cause they have the MLG name brand on it. But I took a chance, spent the $80 to see if they potentially made a difference for my gaming performance. Sadly they did not improve my gaming skills, but they do function the way advertised. That was to improve my field of vision. I game on a LED computer monitor to give me that competitive edge compared to standard HDTV. I noticed that playing on a super bright monitor for extended period of time is definitely be strenuous on the eyes. So after I made my purchase it was time to put them to the test. I have to say I am very satisfied with my purchase. Less stress on the eyes, they magnify the screen a little so no more squinting, you can use these when working with a desktop or laptop computer. Plus I personally think they're stylish too. Price could be a little more reasonable but it wont break the bank. Definitely recommend these to anyone who works with a computer or play video games on a computer monitor. Sadly I cant recommend these for gamers who play on a large HDTV screen just doesn't have the same effect since they're suppose to magnify like a pair of reading glasses. Hope this has been helpful. -Dogs Luv Trucks

    They work!

I was skeptical at first when I heard about these "yellow tinted glasses that help with eyestrain and improve vision while looking at a computer monitor." I was one of those guys that spends a lot of time looking at computer screens and because of that I got a lot of headaches and my eyes hurt after spending time behind the computer. So I thought I'd try these out and boy was I amazed how well the work, and for all of you that think the yellow tint is too much you really don't notice it after about 5 minutes of wearing them only reason I say that is because that was a big concern for me I thought that they were going to be "too yellow" but in reality like I said you don't really notice the yellow after about 5-10 minutes of use. Finally I guess the most important part is that I no longer get headaches or suffer from eye strain, however I did have to get used to wearing glasses while on the computer but that didn't take long to adjust to. So if you spend a lot of time working and or playing games on the computer then I'd recommend you to try these glasses out.

I was not sure how well these glasses were going to work. I have used these both for work and gaming. I can tell the difference in both areas. Now it is not going to make you a MLG player with awesome stats, but what it does is help your eyes and keep them more relaxed. I was worried that all they would do is just put a yellow tint over everything, but that is incorrect. To me, it makes the colors standout and also dims the bright whites. I use a headset while gaming and these fit well while wearing them. I would suggest these to anyone who stares at computer and TV screens for long hours. These do not completely fix the problem, but it does help relieve some of the strain and red eye.

    Couldn't Believe It!

Like almost everyone else who posted a review, I was EXTREMELY skeptical at first. I was 90% sure I would return them in the first week! After 2 weeks of use now, I almost can't use my computer without them! While they are incredible for gaming (MW3, Skyrim, BF3 are what I've played with them so far) they are amazing for ALL computer use. For instance, after hours in front of the ubiquitous black text on white screen (what you're reading now) I would start to have difficulty focusing and start to develop a headache. Now, it's like the words pop-out at me, and my eyes feel relaxed... which is something I didn't even know was POSSIBLE! As far as the design is concerned, I was worried the arms would dig into my head with my large headphones on (Logitech G35). The design and coating on the arms is such that you can't even feel the difference under them. If you spend a large amount of your time in front of your computer, and the price isn't discriminating for you, I would HIGHLY recommend giving them a chance; I'm certainly glad I did!

I love these glasses, my wife got a set for me and our son, I use them anytime I on the computer. My eyes are not tired after doing bookwork or gaming and I like them better than the glasses I got for the eye doctor for working on the computer. If you get eye strain from any screen, get them you will not regret it. If I break them I will get another pair as soon as I could.

If you are a gammer that spends hours playing than this product is for you. Personally I am a COD or MW player. As many of you know some zombie games can last hours. By wearing these glasses you dont have to blink as much or take breaks from playing. Im sure some of you have played for hours before then walked away from the tv rubbing your eyes or blinking constantly. Since I started wearing these glasses I have not had that problem personally. If you are xtreme and can afford the $$$ than these are for you.

I got these glasses because my recreation, school, and job all require my staring at a monitor for hours at a time. Before I got these, I thought they'd be a useless thing to wear to look cool. After schoolmates and coworkers got them, I figured I would try them out. Long story short: I cannot use monitors now without severely noticing the eyestrain. I've only been wearing them for 3 weeks and I don't know how I got along without them. I've heard they aren't for everyone, and yes, they take a little getting used to, but once you are, you won't go back.

I alternate between contact lenses and eyeglasses. I have often found that with my contacts I can't bear to look at the computer screen for more than 15 minutes compared to regular eyeglasses, but somehow the Gunnar eyewear, by enhancing contrast and yellowing the screen slightly, permits me to use the computer while wearing contacts for longer periods of time. Or it might just be the placebo effect. I chose to purchase this online and pick it up in-store, because it was both cheaper than buying at the store directly and avoids needing to ship it.

First off if your not a serious gamer and do not know what MLG is then don't buy these you won't understand why you need them. I am a big gamer when it comes to Halo, I play 6 hours sometimes on the weekend but normally maybe about 2 hours a day. I tend to get headaches and as me and my friends say were looking at the screen... But not actually looking at the screen. These glasses change that. You can play for hours and your eyes and reflects are just as good when you got warmed up. Your eyes stay very focused on the screen which is HUGE when it's 49 to 49 and you want that last kill you will be alert and focused. So for any serious gamer these are very much worth it

I'm really impressed with these glasses. I purchased them after doing some research online about the glasses. I thought maybe it was all hype, but I was wrong. These glasses really reduce eye strain and make the screen a bit more crisp and clear. They keep my eyes from drying out while working and gaming too. Excellent buy!

Purchased this item primarily for gaming, but also works great for computing. I can actually tell while using these glasses that my eyes are not working and straining as hard. Was a little concerned about the glasses pinching on the nose, but after initial adjustment no problem at all, excellent product in my book.

Bought them for my son, and gave them a test drive. I have frequent migraines and can feel my head start to hurt after just a few minutes of staring at a screen. I have my own pair now and can use my PC, phone and iPad for hours, all day, with no headache. Migraine glasses cost between $120- $200. These were quite a find. I do have to clean my son's pair daily for him, but he's otherwise taken very good care of them. Feel so Liberated after this purchase!
