Having already seen this great anime series on both IFC and on older DVD sets, I regretted giving this series up. So, naturally I decided to buy it again. This set has both seasons plus the OVA (Original Video Animation, most likely never aired on TV). :) It's about adolescent girls rescued from death by an Italian government agency only to become cyborg assassins brainwashed to work with a partner (or "handler"). Slightly philosophical, well written story ,great action and interesting characters make Gunslinger Girl a must-watch anime series. :D

I was able to watch the entire series. I just wish BestBuy would package DVDs better when shipping. The box came a little crumpled. Not good for picky collectors like myself.

A Good, classic anime would highly recommend this one

Gunslinger Girl is a like a cross between the show Dollhouse, La Femme Nikita (Point of No Return for those who haven't seen the original) and Robocop. It is set in Italy and features young orphan girls with no families (or whose families have shunned them) who are partly implanted with cybernetic body parts. They are then trained and directed by their own personal handlers (ala Dollhouse) to perform missions including assassinations, rescue extractions, etc. for a secret governmental agency. So with an expertly written plot, dramatic fight scenes and emotional themes, you'll soon be addicted to this series.
