I picked this up at my local Best buy but it seems Discs 1 and 4 were manufactured poorly. No scratches or anything but it is missing about 3 episodes.. it tries to play a couple but cuts in and out and just stops. I saw the series view netflix on disc before so i know what couple episodes i'm missing.. hoping to find a vol. 1 and 4 online somewhere cheap to replace the bad discs. Don't both loading the company's website as they shut that site down.. The series was very good in my opinion. The ending is not what i'd hope for but good series. I guess it would help to know what other genres i watch: Big O, Dot Hack, Ghost in the Shell, Fairy Tail, Bleach, etc..

Simply put, the greatest series Gainax has ever made(yes, even better than that Shinji crapfest). Music direction, story direction, plot, art direction, animation style. It's all friggin amazing. Buy this. Buy it for your friends, your neighbors, your Momma.. Watch it. Love it.
