I have an accounting background. Since I stopped working for them I use this software. I personally just like it better than some of the other software. I do my own taxes and it works for me.

It has a great interactive program and constantly scans your return till the end to make sure you have all the deductions you are entitled to by law.

A routine software update erased my data

Both function similarly, but I would say that the interface and step-by-step walk through with TT is more polished. This year I had numerous business receipts and home expense data to enter into my return. I did this over several different days and saved my work at each step along the way. Then right after a routine software update, I noticed that everything except my W2 info and 1099-INT and DIV data had been erased. The online chat support reps were apologetic, but nothing could be done. Not enough time to start over now and will need to use an accountant. Buyer Beware !

I've used multiple versions depending on the type of taxes I was filing. The help is great and I can't bring myself to pay someone to do my taxes for me when this software walks me though step by step.
