Awesome 90s flick finally gets the 4K treatment! Phenomenal audio quality (5 stars out of 5) and amazing video quality (4.5 stars out of 5). If you are a steelbook collector, this is one that is highly worth getting...especially if you are big fan of this movie!

Got this purely because I loved the aesthetic of the steel book. Video quality is nicer than expected. Wish they added a little more to the package, but still a pretty neat part of the collection.

Cool movie, cool steelbook. This is a very early flick for both Angelina Jolie and Matthew Lillard and they're both dope here.

The steelbook bleeds 90s cool. The transfer is great,no noticeable DNR and the colors pop with the new grading.

BestBuy is the worst sent this item through the mail and got damaged. Contacted support only option to return for refund as it's no longer a stocked item. Was purchased as a gift for Christmas and being disabled makes it extremely inconvenient to return to store. I hope BestBuy goes out of business soon! Unbelievable experience. Pack item is a box not a padded envelope!

This review is not in fact about the perfect film Hackers it is about this version of the release. Obviously the steelbook factor makes this an amazing item to add to any blu ray collection. My only fault is the transfer. The video is great, crisp, and clear as ever. My only issue is Shout Factory did a poor job on the audio transfer. At least on the 4K disc. I run a Pioneer Elite system with a 5.1 Martin Logan speaker set up and I can tell you that I am unimpressed. First off everything is muted and you have to crank up the volume to hear. The music in the movie pops but dialogue and background effects are minimal. I’ve heard people argue in favor for the sound but I promise you the original blu ray and dvd had a more rounded audio track. I really am picking fly poop out of oatmeal as I would buy this every-time a release comes out. I just want the best of the best and this hits many things right but does miss on the audio.

The first thing that catches your eye is the beautiful art on the steelbook, paying homage to the film's hacker culture. It's a collector's dream come true. The 4K resolution makes the visuals sharper and more vibrant, enhancing the neon-soaked cyberworld of the film. The HDR presentation does justice to the vivid colors and "futuristic" aesthetics, providing a visually captivating experience.

A young boy is arrested by the US Secret Service for writing a computer virus and is banned from using a computer until his 18th birthday. Years later, he and his new-found friends discover a plot to unleash a dangerous computer virus, but they must use their computer skills to find the evidence while being pursued by the Secret Service and the evil computer genius behind the virus.

Hackers has always been a fun flick so I won't waste time reviewing the film. The steel book is nice could have had some better outer artwork but it beat the standard 4k release. Extras are basically the same from the 2k Scream Factory release, the trailer and Keyboard Cowboys making-of featurette. The 4k is nice enough but the steel book is the main attraction here.

"Hack the Planet!!!" You want 90's in it's full internet explosion hayday look no further. The look, feel, and dialog scream pure 90's. Treat yourself with this blast from the past, as Crash Override and Acid Burn explore hacking mainframes from across states lines with all the wacky hijinks that ensure.

This editions art takes me back to the first time I saw the movie. The cover art being a program one of the hackers would use. This is a great buy for anyone needing a 4k version of the film. If you haven't seen it yet and your interesting in the early days of what hacking looked like then I think you'll enjoy this movie.

This movie has been in my favorites list since I saw it in the mid 90's. Love the nostalgia of this release. The steelbook has great artwork relative to the movie and the time it came out. The soundtrack is the best techno/electronica groups at that time. Best Buy and Shout get a big thumbs up to this release. Hack the Planet!

I saw this a long while back, and I thought it was smart, and witty, a quirky lil film. That’s the first time I saw Angelina and Johnny Lee miller. It was a cool kinda 90’s, mtv feel type movie. I had the laserdisc, then the Blu-ray…and of course I had to get this steelbook. It’s a good film for time, so grab some popcorn and laugh.

90s cheese at its best during the early years of the internet, and Hollywood had a cartoonish understanding of internet counterculture. Society as a whole was not yet technologically literate, so all the representation of how the internet and computers work was so over the top it was hard not to laugh and love this film.

Great Steelbook, Classic Design, Amazing 4K transfer, BUT No digital copy now that’s not a deal killer but the digital copy that is for sale now is only 1080P so what would be the point if it wasn’t a 4K transfer then? But paying that much for a steelbook a digital copy I almost expect now,

This Best Buy Exclusive steelbook packaging is a lot of fun. It doesn't matter whether or not Hackers is a grand movie, I think as a film collector this version is a hoot and the entire product is a time machine to the 90s. Enjoy the ride and HACK THE PLANET!

Steelbook collector here and this was a nice one. Loved the look. The movie is a fun riff on the hacking culture if wrong all over the place. But early Angelina Jolie and Fisher Stevens on skateboard makes this a movie that you cant miss.

Really love bestbuys steelbooks and this is another good example. The movie itself I expected to be a groan after not having seen in for a long time. I was pleasantly surprised, though lets be clear, it is still a cheese-fest!

Classic cult film getting the respect it deserves on 4K. Love the special features, great looking steelbook. Could do without the regular blu-ray, a digital copy would have been better. But just happy to see this get a proper UHD release.
