Haier is bad business
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this television for a small room. Nice looking unit. DVD Player works well. Upon opening I mounted the TV and went to check it out. Found out the remote is broken. Additionally, the remote is required to scan for tv channels, so I was not able to do much at this point. I called Haier and spoke with a customer rep. Rep said it would be no problem to send out a replacement remote. Three weeks later I did not receive the new remote so I followed up with Haier. New customer rep also said no problem; we will get you the replacement remote. Short while later, the 2nd rep called me to inform me that Haier considered the remote to be "cosmetic, no functional" and therefore would not replace the remote, but instead offered to sell me one. I escalated the issue to TWO supervisors and they both were rude and couldn’t believe that I would to have a replacement remote at no cost..... I was dumbfounded- All I was asking for is a replacement remote. I called the same day I unboxed the TV, less than a week after it was shipped to me. I will never buy Haier again, and hope you will not either. Best Buy is working the return issue now, and although it isnt done yet I still have confidence in BB to take care of me
