Alot of stars were in this movie. I would have never thought.

The film "Hair" is like an ancient scroll that was hidden away along with a lost knowledge that I feel fortunate to have access to. The scene where people are receiving LSD in a eucharist ritual is a positive take on psychoactive drug use whereas the use of such drugs is portrayed in a negative context in the film "Tommy" where Tina Turner appears as the Acid Queen. The opening song in which actress Ren Woods is singing "Aquarius" is one of my all-time favorite music videos. The film is still relevant with depictions of protests at Washington D. C. in an anti-war theme which ranks up there with its choreography along with the film "Across the Universe."

The Blu-ray version of "Hair, Let The Sun Shine In" is a time travel trip (and I mean "trip") to the late 60's in New York. It's always amazing for me to see the clarity of something filmed on location 50 years ago. Songs, romance, drugs, Viet Nam... and yes hair!

I remember when the movie came out and many people felt that it was not a good movie. Does it stand the test of time? Since it's looking back on the 60's generation and was made in 1979. It may not. But other than a few area (the end in particular) I really enjoyed the movie and encourage everyone to see it. I would have liked to seen there be more on the Blu-Ray than just the movie itself though.

Even though the 60's were a little before my time (even though I was born in the latter part of the 60's), the music of the decade comes alive in this flick. The movie has plenty of meaning in both the underlying theme regarding the Vietnam war and the music that helped inspire a generation. At the very least this film is worth picking up for the music alone but its a good movie all around.

I saw the musical with the original cast in the 1960's & loved it. Also love the movie. Well done & great to see how the scenes of the stage play are transposed to the big screen. Of course the best part of any great musical are the songs.

Unforgettable songs, biting satire, great performances... I dare you not to hum (or sing) some of the songs of this great musical. It still works, after all these years. Also, the Blu-ray is crisp and perfect.

Classic musical with a great soundtrack and even better cast

The great story through song of cultural change, love, friendship and innocence lost. One of my top ten favorites of all time.

This was on of my favorites as a kid and it still doesn’t disappoint!

I liked this movie so much in junior high. Was one of the first movies I watched on HBO back then - and I watched it a lot . 35 years later , it's a good movie - it just isn't a great one.

First saw this film in 1979 and adored it. Over time, the home video market changed and this was one film I bought in every new format as it was released. Never had any "extras" in any other form. This one does, providing insights to the filming and production process that filled in a lot of blanks. Loaded with familiar faces, this was one of Milos Forman's absolute masterpieces. Perhaps it was made a bit too close to the time frame depicted, but I find that a lame excuse. Over the years, it should have become more and more famous for its amazing cinematography, its score of unforgettable songs, and the stellar cast. Whether or not you are a fan of musicals (which I am actually not) you will find yourself engrossed with a better storyline than the play was ever able to accomplish and will very likely NEVER forget the film. Not to be missed.

I saw the movie on tv years ago and really liked it. However, when I ordered this movie, I wanted dvd and not blue ray so I returned it unopened. I would either like a refund or a dvd copy of this movie. Thank you.
