I'm usually turned off by musicals, but absolutely loved this film. The musical numbers were great! From the opening scene to the films finale, this movie delivers. It sure to leave you belting out the songs after you watch it. The performances are great, and Blonksy does a great job...considering it's her first time in a movie. John Travolta also does a great job as Edna, and Pfeiffer as the mean Velma Von Tussle.

I can never get sick of watching this movie. The cast is great and Zac Efron is so hot in this movie. John Travolta does an amazing job as Edna Turnblad, plus all the other actors do a good job. I could watch this movie forever. The soundtrack is incredible and I love listening to it in the car wherever I go. It's one of my new all-time favorite movies.

This movie is amazing! I can watch it all day! It is about this girl who wants to be on the Corney Collins show, and she is a bit different. Finally, her dreams come true and she makes the show, but with a few bumps in the road. This movie is hillarious! You need to get it!

THIS WAS A VERY IMPRESSING MOVIE! I LOVED IT! I HAD SEEN THE ORIGINAL AND NOW WITH ALL THE NEW AGE STUFF AND THE WAY THE WRORLD IS CURROPT. ok so i saw this movie 10 TIMES and i will see it 10 more because i LOVED it! the cast is amazing and Niki Blonsky is amazing when she sings! this movie makes you fall in love with each and every character. it is amazing and i hope everyone buys it because it is so good.. i cant wait to buy it!!!!!!!!!!

I love Hairspray. Hairspray is my favorite John Travolta movie. I have Hairspray the Full Screen and 2-Disc Shake and Shimmy. Edition. My favorites in Hairspray were Tracy, Link, Penny, Seaweed, Little Inez, Motormouth Maybelle, Edna, Wilbur, Corny Collins, Mr. Pinky and The Dynamites

I was suprised how much I liked this movie. I hadn't read about it so I thought it was going to be about a beauty shop. The story was very good. The music and singing was great. I have watched it several times now and each time is as good as the first.

OMG!!!! I absolutely, positvely, LOVE dis diskset!!! I just recently got and its WONDERFUL!!! I REALLY recommend this diskset to anyone who likes the movie because its GREAT!! Although the price isnt that good, the diskset is worth it!

hits real issues with lighthearted fun and song. queen latifah shines. it only takes 5 min to stop seeing john travolta in drag and see him as the mom. i loved this one, good job

I seen this movie 5 times in the theather and since buying it this morning I have watched it twice! Im totally in love with this movie! Everyone should watch it at least once!

This musical still has a place in todays society because the message still needs to be talked about. This is a must see, great for discussions afterwards.

Terrific movie for all ages. You can't get enough of that insane, makes you want to sing and dance, get up and do your hair, kick butt movie!

Critics boasted about Hairspray to be a great musical...lots of fun. Usually I don't rely on critics and concern myself with the average person's review because I have seen movies they seemed to dislike but I loved... but whenever I see high critical acclaim, it does catch my eye. Hairspray was one of those movies. For some people, musicals just aren't their thing...but I don't mind musicals. Many of them are quite soulful and vibrant... so that was not the issue here. The issue was I just find Hairspray a complete bore. And I'm not exaggerating. I hate to give 1 or F ratings on movies, because I think a movie has to be unanimously bad to deserve that. I think either you'll love Hairspray or just not feel it's your cup of tea. I watched it with friends, some of whom adored it and others who found a few parts extremely hilarious but the rest as boring. Me? I didn't laugh once. I don't know why. It felt like a waste of time, that's why I don't recommend it. I might watch it again to see if I missed something. Another thing, the acting is purposely meant to be corny and tacky. It's supposed to add to the humor. I appreciate the movie for it's unique nature in modern Hollywood, but I did not enjoy it as much as I tried to.

I really enjoyed this movie and think you will too. It is full of great music and I recommend this movie to everyone.
