    Failed, but still buying it.

I'm a huge Halloween fan, but what a lot of people don't know is the first one was John Carpenter and Rob Zombie. The Sequel however was just Zombie which is why it was so different and why it was not that good. The first one they did a great job on, but they screwed this one up big time. Loomis was in the movie a lot (acted like a diva), but he had nothing to do with stopping Myers till the very end and I won't say what happens next, but it was bull. They completely ruined this one from the original Halloween II. The Only reason I'm buying it is because I have every other Halloween so I feel obligated to buy this one. Yes it was more brutally graphic and had a lot more blood, however it was tooooo out there and different. Was changed to much and I'm only recommending this because it's a Halloween. Watch the original then the remake... You'll see why it sucked.

Good re-makes are hard to find.

I grew up loving the films the great horror masters created Halloween, Friday the Thirteenth and A Nightmare on Elm Street series to mention a few. Now don't get me wrong this doesn't surpass those memories of youth but what the first remake did and what this film does is tell the story in a different way. These remakes take the story which we all knew could never happen (A killer who couldn't die) and makes it feel more real, it has been mentioned about his mother who was guilt ridden when she committed suicide would never (as a ghost) egg Michael on to kill but these are HIS delusions and he is a very sick and disturbed killer. On refection I would say that the re-imaging of this movie and the one before bring Michael to new level and comparison to the originals should not be made. This is disturbing and brutal in it's own right. If you love a good honest scary movie which.... ok.... won't have you on the edge of your seat, but will surprise you then you are gunna love this and the twist makes this feel more real world than the normal fake plastic knives, mask and the killer who can't die affair.

I saw this movie in theaters and loved it, yet when my girlfriend purchased the unrated director's version I was shocked. The director's cut ending was horrible. I just looked to make sure that I could purchase the theatrical version because I dislike it that much. I encourage anybody that is looking for this movie to buy the theatrical version.

Rob Zombie knows what he's doing

Personally, I liked this version, think Rob Zombie manages to deliver more brutal and shocking death scenes, which manage to keep a realistic feel to them, Michael seems alot more brutal than in the 1st film as well shown by high energy stabbing and carnage. The story line is, however, a little confusing with constant flashes of Hallucinations, and rushed scenes, it may take a few viewings to keep up! I do have a few niggles though, first the young boy who played Michael in the 1st film has been re-cast, dr loomis has turned into a self obsessed to know it all, and Laurie has somehow turned into a skater chick? In summary this film is watchable I enjoyed it by gritting my teeth through the annoying bits and enjoying the rest, not a bad effort!, definitely beats most remakes!

    Great Movie

What people don't understand is that this ISN'T the original series. that's where EVERYONE makes their mistake. they make the mistake of comparing it right off to the original series, saying dumb remarks like "Michael never saw his mother in the first series!", this isn't the first series! people would've complained if this was a carbon copy of Halloween II, and people complain now that Rob Zombie has put his own twist on it and had the balls to make it his movie. with that being said, it was a great movie, it never loses your interest, whether for good or for bad. i thought it was great. it's visually entertaining, the first 30 minutes of the movie are pure gold, and the rest is just great, not as great as the first 30 minutes, i won't spoil it. but it's a good movie nonetheless.

    The Psychological side of Halloween

Rob Zombie's Halloween 2 is fair. I do not fell this movie was horrible but I also do not feel this movie was great. I respect what Rob Zombie did for this film, it was about the psychological side of both Michael Myers and Laurie Strode. For me it lacked fear of what the original remake had. For the people who compare it to the the original series, stop, what I have learned about remakes is that it does not copy directly from the original source material but to show a different facet to these characters and the environment.

Here it is the inevitable sequel to the 2007 Rob Zombie remake and I gotta say it's every bit as fun. Ok the original John Carpenter version is probably the greatest horror movie ever but this isn't bad as a modern updated. The first 30 minutes in this film are some of the best I have seen in a while but somewhere in the middle it does lose it a bit, but it doesn't subtract from all the carnage that Michael Myers creates. The ending is great, those who enjoyed the first remake can make up their own minds. Remember this is a slasher horror so if you don't like these movies in general then don't watch them but if you like this genre then this is wickedly fun viewing. Enjoy

    Surprisingly good

I watched this disc today, and I have to say I thought it was very good! I think even Rob Zombie would acknowledge that nobody could match Carpenter's original, but this take on the Michael Myers story is very entertaining (if you have a strong stomach). Where as Carpenter went for suspense, Zombie has gone for an all out blood bath, and you can't help but get a smile on your face when "that" music kicks in. The 1978 original will always be king, but I think Zombie's film is well worth a look. The picture quality on this disc is spotted on, as is the sound. Some good use of your rear speakers, and pounding bass! I highly recommended!

just crank this up on the surround and hear Michael's agression with each victim - very violent film. answers plenty of questions and gives greater depth regarding michael. did not like that they used a different young michael for the flashbacks to his childhood. the young michael from Zombie's Halloween 1 is much better. if you are a halloween or just a basic horror fan, you won't be disappointed....

    Halloween 2 -Psycho Gore

If you liked the original series, dont bother to see the sequels, they'll only disappoint. That is, in case you were born in the 90's and have been inundated with gory remakes all your life, then, by all means...here's more. The Rob Zombie remakes leave nothing to the imagination and make no effort to evolve the series. What little confusion there was about the original series is only compounded by the remakes. Just when you think the film might reveal something you didnt know about Mike Meyers, it drifts into a psychotic daydream. My advise is to purchase something genius like Hitchcock.

Great great horror movie. The best Halloween movie in my opinion. Rob Zombie makes this movie even more gory and raw than his first. He really brings out Michael's aggression and frustration in this movie. Only thing worse than a huge brute psychopath is one who is incredibly angry to boot! A must see!

    Utterly Sad

Rob Zombie is a disappoint when it comes to his movie career. I had so much hope that he would be refreshing to the horror genre but alas Zombie is not. I am a big fan of Zombie’s solo work and his work with White Zombie and listening to his music you would figure he would be a prominent horror director and creator. The movie is mess is the best way to put it. Also everything that Zombie preached about the first film, he went against in this film. The way first one ended, he stated he made the movie that way so a sequel was impossible. Impossible until the bean counters saw more money. Everything is over kill in this movie, the deaths, the plot, the acting, etc. The movie lacks characters and depths of characters, hence why every kill is an over kill. I am a big horror fan and it takes a lot for me to say, enough is enough. For the fourth straight film, Zombie has failed. Zombie needs to stick to what he knows music. Avoid this movie at all costs. This movie is not even worth a Redbox rental. Once again Rob Zombie scores an F on his latest movie making effort.
