I bought this electric kettle for grab-and-go breakfasts when traveling. The motels where I stay in Michigan's Upper Peninsula don't always have microwaves in the room, or a restaurant nearby. The Hamilton Beach 1.7L Kettle can be programmed to heat at a pre-programmed time, and is great for fixing hot beverages & instant oatmeal. It allows me to have my morning caffeine fix, and helps me to start my day right. I highly recommend this kettle!

Design is good, pours easily, no spilling. The different temperature settings are nice since I drink a lot of green tea. I like that it doesn't shut off immediately once boiling temperature is reached but keeps boiling about 30 seconds longer. Those who don't like that can turn if off before it shuts off automatically. I cannot rate durability yet for I just got it a couple of weeks ago. Advise before first use: boil and discard the water about twice as often as recommended in instructions, after that the funny smell will be gone.

I love this kettle! I had been researching variable temp kettles for some time, and they all were over $100 and had enough bad reviews to make me skeptical. I came across this one and for the price and free shipping it can't be beat! I especially love that I can program it to turn on at specified times so my hot water can be waiting for me in the morning (I don't like to wait for coffee....). My only complaint is that, after being unplugged, I need to reprogram the time and auto on time. Really not a big deal. I love love love this kettle! Don't yet know about the durability because I've only had it a few weeks

I got this to replace my delonghi which had finally died. This thing is amazing. You can set it to have the water hot when you wake up. It's got multiple temperatures for teas, hot chocolate, apple cider, coffee. It did smell of plastic real bad coming out of the box. Just boil baking soda in the water a couple times to get rid of any smell/taste.

Good size countertop kettle. Love the sixty minute timer and temperature programable. Easy to use.

to date I really like my kettle. I read reviews on amazon but bought from best buy. I would recommend reading the programming instructions. If I could change anything it would be the way you set the clock and timer. It takes a bit to do and if you need to unplug which is recommend when not being used you have to start all over, would be nice if they could add a batter spot that would hold the time, timer and temp setting. Other wise I love this kettle. heats up fast, ( a full pot about 5 min) I will note that if you are a light sleeper and your bedrooms are close to the kitchen you will hear the kettle turn on, its not very quiet, but we have gotten use to it. I also like to programmable temp for tea, hot coco ... and the heating element is not exposed. over all I am happy with the kettle .

The kettle is easy to setup and use. It heats up and keeps the water fairly hot for an hour. It doesn't keep it at boiling but after an hour it is still close enough that a short boil (less than a minute) brings it back to boiling. I liked it so well that I bought it for a Christmas present for my sister.

Boils water quickly and keeps it hot as long as you keep it on. The only thing is you have to remember to shut it off, but I’m getting used to that.

This is perfect for me. And works as well as I hoped.

Would have gotten 5 stars except it is loud. Possibly this is because I never fully fill the kettle.

Nice looking kettle.. I like that it keeps heating the water, but I don’t like that I have to unplugged it when not using it. But for the look and the price, it’s great.

This is an adequate electronic kettle. It makes water hot. Quickly.

Was my last programmable kettle. Parents live with me mom kept messing them up EVERY single one(RIP Hamilton beach kettle)you are missed.Ended up with a cheaper one still standing.

Bought this for my husband he drinks instant coffee so he doesn't like Mr. coffee or anything like that they get too dirty he loves this

Excellent kettle the programmable part is awesome set it up and wake up with hot water ready to use.

heats up quite quickly and the temp display is handy

its pretty good, boiled the water in only few mins, i like the fact that it can warm the water for an extra hour, but i don't like the fact that it keeps reboiled the water when it cools down within a hour. plus need time to get to know how to control the program, and setting up the temperature. which i don't think its a big deal.. overall, i like it.
