This was a modestly priced upgrade from my older and much smaller food processor. So far its been a huge upgrade in terms of ease of food processing and the amount of vegetables that can be cut up at one time. I was able to chop a one lb onion and a green bell pepper with a couple bulbs of garlic with ease. Im very happy. It does take up a considerable more amount of space in the cupboard, but that’s the trade off, and its a very good tradeoff.

I have been using for over one year and wanted to post this review. Lot of time savings in cutting vegies for curries and shredding carrots / beats for sweets. Lot of time savings and less mess in kitchen.

The unit comes with 2 different size bowls plus a blade for sliced and schreddimg. The suction cups assure it will not move about. The large mouth opening for adding food is a plus. Highly recommended

This is my first purchase of a food processor. I used it to slice carrots and celery. It is so much faster and safer than hand slicing. Once I read directions and learned to interlock the bowl and top (it does not run unless everything is aligned, interlocked and safe) it performed so well. I sliced 6 carrots and 3 celery stalks in a minute or two. All you do is place a carrot in a tube and it slices all itself without any need to push it through. I will look forward to using it again to make vegetable stew. Very happy with this!

I really don't like this unit. I had a previous version of a Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Food Processor that broke after 10 years of regular use. Very happy with that unit so I decided to replace it with this newer version. I don't like the locking mechanism; I preferred the clips on the side. Whenever I wash out the cup there is water all up in the various areas so it isn't pleasant to keep clean and free of mold. I often used my food processor to make biscuits; this one spits out flour everywhere. I don't like the spindle in the middle of the cup. I am thoroughly disappointed with this food processor.

The big mouth chute is great! However, unit seems to overheat fairly easily. Still very helpful in my household.

After 20 years my old Hamilton beach die. I decided to purchase another from this company. Once again they haven’t let me down. I wasn’t to sure on the wide mouth. But don’t regret my decision. It allows to use bigger pieces . So much better then have to open lid or cut smaller to fit though whole .It chops prefect ! Hoping to have it for years .

This is my second Hamilton Beach processor. I have to admit that the plastic covering on the rotating shaft cracked and broke off in places and got into food.. I had not used it much, other than shred large amounts of cheddar cheese for holiday cooking. After some research, I did decide to get this version of Hamilton Beach processor and try one more. No problem so far, but I haven't had it long. I do like the options of a wide food shoot and a smaller or larger capacity bowl, and the speed variations, which my previous processor did not have. In my opinion, unless you want to spend a lot of money, I believe that most in this price range are pretty much the same, whether Hamilton Beach or another brand.

Doesn't require a lot of space. Has motor that handles everything I've put in it so far. Has a full size bowl for large jobs, but also has a small one to use for smaller jobs (like making salsa)

The only downside I don't like is the smell similar to petroleum or plastic ethers. The container may not be very safe in the long run. I haven't decided whether to return it and buy something with a glass or less reactive container.
