Had a Keurig 1.0 before, and loved it. But it broke, and rather than replace with a newer model, we went with this one. Definitely takes some getting used to. We like that you can brew a pot or a KCup, but they throw in a travel mug size as well? Turns out - it all depends on how much water you fill the reservoir with. Too much water, and you have to run a cycle to drain some out. Also, temp gets VERY hot, melts the plastic on the KCup sometimes which causes the flavor to taste burnt.

I have had this for a week and no vinegar remedy or water flush has made the overbearing taste of plastic subside. Going to exchange for a new one as I've NOW read that this has been a problem with many of these coffee makers. Thankfully I've also learned that this is a BPA free unit... That being said I will give this unit one more try before I invest in the much more expensive keurig.

This coffee maker was a God-send! Sometimes I want to make a full pot, other times I just want one cup (whether it's on-the-go or not). Having the option to brew either way has been phenomenal! A piece broke after almost 2 years and thankfully I was able to get the entire machine replaced! Still loving it :)

Great use of space, my only issue is sometimes the single serve pod does not engage correctly and it smashes the plastic cup and water goes every where.

i loved the idea of having a coffee maker that could be compatible with keurig k-cups and regular coffee. however, having to refill the water reservoir with exactly one cup per k-cup to be used, is NOT really friendly, in fact, it's really inconvenient, and if I had known this little quirk, i would have NOT purchased this coffee maker. it was much more expensive than other coffee makers, and frankly, the idea of having a keurig is to be able to make your coffee without having to RELOAD every single time the water with exactly one cup of water to avoid overloading the reservoir and ending up with an error given by the system when you put too much water and thinking the unit is bad. my advice is: if you want to use k-cups then buy a keurig coffee maker. period. buy a regular coffee maker, and save the other $65 and spend them in the real thing. a good idea, but it could be greatly improved.

This product has a wonderful timer and three brewing methods. I can use the regular filter, k-cups, or use the coffee pod holder rather then pay for k-cups which are expensive.

Only thing I didn't like about it is you can't use the Kuregg at the same time if you have the large pot set on a brew schedule

The Hamilton Beach Flex-Brew is just what we needed to replace our old Mr. Coffee. We've been using it for about a month now. I like the programmability of the main coffee maker, and my wife loves being able to use her K-cups for specific flavored coffee and teas. Kudos to Best Buy and Hamilton-Beach!!

We love the duel feature of this coffee maker. We were debating on whether to get a Keurig for the fast simplicity of a single cup or a regular coffee pot because it's so much cheaper. Then we found this and it's perfect. Truely the best of both worlds. In the morning I can make about 1/2 a pot of me and my husband. But on days only one of us want some, the single serve side is great. Plus, I loved that the single serve side came with a container to hold the grounds so you don't have to just buy the expensive k-cups. (Which you can do too if you like). We love it. Just as good as a Keurig with more options, and a lot less money.
