The opening for filling the water is at the back (normal enough) but, its about 2.5" square couple that with the short electric cord and the task of making a pot of coffee next to impossible. The coffee was good but don 't even think about using the mesh K-pod work around insert...If you do, plan on chewing your cup of coffee
