I have never seen any music stand as strong and durable as this. I could drop it on cement and know that although it would get a scratch, it will also damage the concrete. The finish on it is awesome. The tray has felt (sp?) which keeps all your things from sliding and easy to pull out (pen, pencil, cell phone, guitar pics, water, etc...yes, I can actually fit ALL of that in it!) I can also place a 4lb 3 inch binder on it and it holds! This is not for the faint hearted and whimpy, it's for those that want to hold their music double-sided and much more. If I could add one thing, it would be clips when wind is involved outdoors, but I can buy those. It is heavy though, so don't expect easy travel, you should wrap the top in a towel if putting it in your car so you don't scratch anything. If you want an easy collapsable light quick to transfer and travel stand, this is NOT it. But it's what I needed.
