I love this new Hammer Horror 8 film box set with all films making their first appearance on Blu Ray.The box set includes Brides of Dracula, The Curse of the Werewolf, Phantom of the Opera, Paranoiac, Kiss of the Vampire, Nightmare, Night Creatures, and The Evil of Frankenstein. Definite improvements over the DVD set from a few years ago.PHANTOM, BRIDES, CURSE, and NIGHT CREATURES are all presented at the aspect ratio of 2.0:1. The problem is, none of them were composed for that aspect ratio and are excessively cropped as a result. Not sure how Universal let it be released this way but nonetheless a worthwhile set.

This cost $20 when I bought it. Since I had previously bought the standalone steelbooks to classics, I decided this had most movies I was missing in my collection from classic Universal movies. I say buy the $40 collection (limited in supply) if you do not already own the steelbooks. This collection has a nice slipcover, great artwork, and classics for movie buffs.

Universal upgrades the original DVD collection with this HD set. However, it is a missed opportunity as the set contains no extras. While almost each film in this collection has received a special edition with extras overseas, you get 8 movies in this set for the price of importing a single title. While the aspect ratios are off for some of the titles, the picture has not looked as sharp. If found for $40 or under, it is worth the price.

If you don’t know the name Hammer you’ve missed out on tons of amazing horror movies. This collection features a collection of some of their lesser talked about titles. It’s a great place to start if your looking to get acquainted with the studio or a fantastic way to add a lot to your existing collection.

Very glad to add this to my collection for a very fair price. I’m unsure if the aspect ratio has been cropped or not, so if you’re worried may have to do some research first. I still found it to be a well priced bargain

I’ve been waiting for a good price to finally get this set. Hammer movies were my favorite when I grew up and this set has some of my favorites plus some I haven’t seen. Picture and sound looks good the little I have seen so far.

I had no idea Hammer had any of their movies out on Blu-ray format. I was a more than pleased with this collection. Grab the popcorn, turn out the lights and enjoy a hammer marathon. A+++

I’m shocked at how many people haven’t seen these I rate them right up there with the universal monster series

This is a great collection of the Universal Studios Hammer Films from the 1960s, I already have them on DVD, but I had to upgrade to Blu Ray and I was not disappointed.............................

I picked up this set because my DVD version had issues. Although the films look and sound great, there are moments when the aspect ratio feels off. Still a recommend for classic Hammer fans

This is an excellent buy 8 classic Hammer horror films on blu ray and with an excellent $25 price tag. You can't beat it Recommended

Used to watch these movies whenever they were on television. A good movie collection to get if your a fan of horror movies.

Great set even though most of the films are in the wrong Aspect Ratio which is unfortunate. But beautiful transfers. Best Buy shipped super fast!
