This movie is a good sequel to the first movie. Like the first movie it has moments that make me jump as well as ones that made me laugh. It also solved one of the big questions that the first movie left me with "How did the loop start?"

This sequel to the surprisingly fun ‘Groundhog Day’ inspired comedy thriller is a fun & creative next chapter! The escapades get a smidge more elaborate and they’re able to incorporate the supporting cast a bit more as well!

Sequels can be boring or try to re-embody its predecessor. This movie takes the premise of the first movie and throws in some twists and loops. You'll find yourself laughing at things that aren't meant to be humorous and enjoy it all the same. Great sequel to the first movie.

I went to the movies and seen this sequel and I really enjoyed it so I wanted to own it. I was sad to hear they won’t be making a third movie because it was well done and made you think. So if you’re thinking of buying this, you really should and of course the first one too.

The first 80% of this was smart, funny, and even had a few touching emotional beats. I'll give it credit for that. But the last twenty percent (including the mid credits scene) appeared to be written by someone completely different, someone whose writing and plotting skills leave much to be desired. It headed off in a "too over the top", frequently bad slapstick direction, and the characters that you initially became involved with, evolved into two dimensional cardboard cutouts. Overall, I would recommend this for viewing by the thinnest of margins.

    More Sci-Fi than Horror

It’s not as creepy and ominous as the first installment but this one has more humor, which the first didn’t lack either. More like a fun, sci-fi, semi-slasher, comedy...?

Intelligent, hilarious slasher film with heart

The second in a morbid humor/horror series (both combining elements of slasher films and Groundhog Day) returns us to the misadventures of university student, Theresa "Tree" Gelbman, seemingly free of her hamster wheel of repeated murders and resurrections, until her own murder was solved, and a normal life resumed. Alas, no such thing; not only is the same nightmare happening again (to others, now), but discovering a scientific explanation for the event drops her and others into an alternate world where a different killer wears the mask, the romantic couplings from the last film are altered, and Tree's deceased Mom never died. Which leads to a moral dilemma for Tree, who, normally, is unlikeable and ethically-challenged: Does she risk getting stuck in this world, just to get her broken family back? Does she help those stuck with her in this world get home? Better decide fast: the science project that got them here is about to get shut down by the dean. And that's what I like about the film (and the one before it); rather than a meaningless hack-and-slash event, it manages to be an exercise in character growth--and without sacrificing the normal action and fight to survive expected in a slasher film. Also, rather than being the usual clueless slasher film victim, Jessica Rothe's Tree is more like Sarah Michelle Gellar's Buffy, taking the bull by the horns, while still being funny; in fact, her eternal frustration has her acting in such weird ways that the other leads wonder if she's losing her mind. I love this film series, which, hopefully, becomes a trilogy, if the mid-credits scene is any clue.

I watched both the first and second in the movie theaters and both were fairly entertaining. I like how they use the same characters and sort of flip the script a bit on this one. Overall, no 4k option so best video available is Blu Ray.

It’s definitely a refreshing sequel. It seemed more like a science fiction film than a horror film to me but I’m not even mad about it. Of course it still has a horror element to it & a pretty comedic one too. Must watch if you haven’t already.

The first film was surprisingly all kinds of fun and this is a fine sequel that follows in suit. So sad that the filmmaker won't be able to finish the trilogy.

If you’re a fan of the original Happy Death Day movie, you’ll enjoy this one as well. Maybe not as good as the original it has plenty of laughs to be satisfying.

Happy Death Day and Happy Death Day 2 are two of the better horror films I've seen in recent years. I scripts are great for both films, and I recommend both for any one out there. Happy watching!

I had low expectations for the sequel since the first movie was so good but I was surprised that they were able to build on the first with a fresh plot and new twists. Highly recommend.

Just as fun as the first one while greatly deepening the mythology of Tree's and her friends' experience. The third film hasn't gotten a greenlight yet, but I really hope it does!
