My daughter and I have been playing this game for months. If you like gardening, farming, and having several cute bachelors/bachlorettes to pick from to marry this game is for you! This game is good, wholesome fun teaching the values of generosity, land stewardship, and values without violence!

The last game I played in this series was HM64 - quite awhile ago. I picked up the game because I needed something happy. I normally play things like fallout, but life was calling for something easygoing. I remembered HM64 but didn't want to unpack that beast from storage. After a little research, I settled on tree of tranquility based on the reviews, screenshots and features. I liked the concept of how I could create different outcomes by my first decision: boy or girl. To me, I saw good replay. Second, the screenshots seemed to be the best balance of moving to true 3D and maintaining stylized worlds and characters. Harvest moon has no business being photo real; the real world isn't adorable and HM is unabashedly so. The reviews were consistently good across the spectrum and the price was good on best buy so I grabbed it. I've had a lot of fun playing for two weeks despite the fact it's not exactly challenging and there's the repetition inherent to all HM games. If you're looking for an easygoing game to relax with, this is great. If you want high end graphics this is not for you. Challenge is something you create for yourself, e.g. I want a cow by summer. If you're on the fence and never played HM, rent it. If you're on the fence and you like HM, get it.
