    Simple to set up and introduce new players to D&D. Mediocre (read: board game) quality construction. I picked it up because our son has newly discovered math and is constantly throwing out random +/- operations. As a tabletop veteran, it was nice to have a "throw down" option with the same basic mechanics and much of the same feel without the setup. My son and I tried, drew a banshee for the first combat, and promptly died, so probably better with a full party. Will try again soon.

    Great Starter For those looking to getting into D&D. This is very simple to use and easy to get into. Also, if you want something a little bit quicker this is for you.

    This is pretty cool as a set, but more of a younger age range. I would use the starter set with older kids.

    We love being able to take turns DMing with this board game. I think I’m even going to paint the minis when I get a chance.
