    Hatchet: The Final Chapter

Let me get this point out, I loved the all three of the Hatchet movies. They have the feel of the slasher films of the 1980s, like Friday the 13th, but do not ease up on the gore. This is great for any horror film fan. The first was the best, and like most sequels, quality corrodes over time. This film might be the weakest of the three, but it still is a good conclusion to a throwback slasher series. This next paragraph may contain spoilers. SPOILER ALERT: This third installment begins where the second leaves off. Mary Beth (once again played by Danielle Harris) just finished killing Crowley. Despite shooting, smashing, chain sawing and scalping him, Crowley is destined to return to the physical state he was the night he died. Mary Beth walks into police station, which is still getting over Mardi gras, only to cause more problems. They think she is caused the murders and hold her prisoner. Meanwhile the police arrive to Honey Island swamp to find out the legend of Victor Crowley is all too real. ----END OF SPOILERS. My favorite part of the movie is the comedic relief provided by horror icon Sid Haig. While many might construe it as offensive, I thought it was very affective device to bring relevant comic relief. Another part I really enjoyed was the fight scene between Kane Hodder and Derek Mears, in a "Jason Voorhees" vs. "Jason Voorhees". The duration and outcome of which might surprise some viewers. There are also many surprises in casting that would surprise many of the fans of the series. Of course this movie will not win any Academy Awards, and is not meant to. It is a simple and fun movie with creative kills and a lot of blood. It is a shame that Adam Green would not direct the film, but he was supposedly very involved in the filmmaking process. Overall, I would recommend this to any horror fan. But beware to enjoy this movie you must view the other Hatchet films first!

If you've seen the other Hatchet films then this is worth a look. If you haven't, but you are into b-movie horror, give the hatchet series a try

If you're familiar with the Hatchet series, but were somehow worried that Adam Green stepping away from directing duties would downgrade it... Don't worry. His handpicked successor, as well as his involvement, gave the initial trilogy it's wonderful ending. (In fact, this may be my favorite in the entire series). The ending film in the initial trilogy (a 4th film, Victor Crowley, arrived recently) pulls out all the stops, involving Crowley, the police, AND a SWAT team called in for backup. The homages and love for old horror icons continues- Caroline Williams, ("Stretch" Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2,) Sid Haig, (Galaxy of Terror, House of 1000 Corpses,) and Zach Galligan (Gremlins, Waxwork) all play memorable or major roles, and Adam Green himself features in a couple funny scenes. The entire Hatchet series is a bloody (VERY) bloody mess filled with memorable, over the top kills, meta awareness, amazing roles & cameos by the actors & actresses that helped define the slasher & gory good times of the 80s, and a recurring joke in all three (AND 4th, going outside the original trilogy,) that can only be appreciated by seeing them all. Despite Green's departure (as director) in this 3rd film, which caused so much concern, his involvement shines through, all while giving that OT a very proper, spectacular conclusion that may even outdo the two predecessors. It's a must own at an incredible value. Now, if you're a horror fan that's unfamiliar with the Hatchet series, there's two things to say: 1- shame on you, and 2- rectify it now.

HATCHET III is a stylish conclusion to the franchise, with BJ McDonnell admirably taking over in the director's chair. Danielle Harris is superb (when is she not?), and Caroline Williams steps up to the plate with a fine performance. Zach (Gremlins) Galligan is also spot on and there's a host of cameos and in jokes to tickle genre enthusiasts funny bones whilst legendary Kane Hodder crushes, pulverises and stomps through the swamp as Victor. #HatchetArmy

I absolutely love the Victor Crowley series as Hatchet is a flash back to the days of B Horror. You know... when guys like Jason, Michael and Freddy ruled. No CGI here folks. Just great makeup, good (albeit campy) acting, and the MAIN played by none other than Kane Hodder (Jason) himself. Definitely recommend watching the whole series.

This is one of the best sequels I've seen. Hatchet III is bloody and scary, and I actually loved the acting. Surprisingly, Hatchet III is better than first film. If you're looking or debating getting this third installment of the Hatchet franchise, definitely buy it. Danielle Harris plays a really good part once again. And don't listen to the other website reviews. It's much much better than only a few stars!

First off Hatchet, as a series is not the best and not even among horror do i think it is the best franchise, but, its a fun old school type of movie series that in my opinion has only gotten better. I believe that this third and possibly final entry is the best by far, now whether thats due to a new director, maybe?, though its a high point nonetheless.

You know what you are getting with the Hatchet films. We are not exactly reinventing the wheel here. Hatchet III is a modern slasher that embraces old school sensibilities of practical effects. We tune in to see what fresh brutal way Victor Crowley does in his victims. IT is a film that has those light moments that give you a laugh. As far as the cast, it is choke full of genre faithful from lead Danielle Harris to the lovely Caroline WIlliams, Sean Whalen, and Sid Haig with a memorable character performance that will have you rolling. One more surprise cameo, but I'll let you find out who it is..

If you liked the first 2 movies I’m pretty sure you’ll like this one as well. Worth adding to your horror movie collection for sure. Lots of blood and gore and some solid comic relief in this one. It has a pretty decent storyline that continues to follow from the first 2 movies. Give a watch if you have the chance at least to say that you’ve seen it.
