Works as expected. The device has Picture in Picture and also allows for pausing live TV. The record functions work fine. The only concern is that the unit runs hot when plugged into the laptop. It may be poor ventilation due to restricted air flow as it is currently cool on the short extension cable provided. As hot as it was, I would be concerned about the current drawn from the USB port. The only gripe I have would be the audio. If one is using the TV and another is using PIP or the computer for other audio functions, you cannot separate the audio to a set of headphones independent of the computer audio. This is not a feature of the device but would be nice if it was added in the future.

I had an older one years ago that would not work with windows 10. This one works very well most of the time, but not all of the time or I would have given 5 stars instead of 4. Sometimes it drops out and has to be unplugged and plugged.

this is my second Hauppauge USB tuner. This replaces my original which took a hit from a power surge. It works great especially when wanting to record more than one show. All of the local stations come in crystal clear. Wintv 8 comes with it and is easy to use. Setup is fast and easy.

This product is perfect for recording your shows over the air and avoiding that expensive cable bill and DVR fee. It is great to be able to record 2 shows at once.

I have been having an issue with the software on my win 10 pc not working very well. Hoping for software upgrade, otherwise it works great. Included telescoping antenna was a pleasant addition.

I was using an internal TV tuner card to view HD (OTA) Over The Air broadcast in the Boston area with my high power roof mounted antenna. However after upgrading to Windows 10 of course Windows Media Center was no longer compatible. I tried at least 20 program to get the old hardware to work with some nearly working but causing conflicts. I gave this simple USB tuner a try and it works perfectly, just use the software you can download from the manufacturer and make sure all is updated. The only downside, no FM tuner that many tuners include but the remote control is great.

I replaced an old PCIe Digital TV board with the Hauppauge, because original software had issues with WIN10. The Hauppauge dual USB was easy to install, and the software was easy to use. It works with a web site for selecting programs to record - free. I cut the cable 8 months ago - and Hauppauge dual USB makes a great inexpensive OTA DVR.

This WinTV unit replaces a dead previous WinTV 950 which I have had for a number of years. The earlier unit worked well and even had a port for audio, video and S-video inputs for recording video from analog sources. This new device has none of those but it does allow watching of two channels at once. Read the specs carefully regarding processing power and memory. It takes more horsepower to deliver 2 channels simultaneously.

this givs me my local channels on my nvidia sheild tv and with plex i can record them and then view what i've recorded on my other devices like my phone, roku's, fire tv, iMac, windows laptop and my ps3's. the only problem i'm having is with reception and to get good reception i either must leave it in my bedroom or get a roof top antenna. if i leave it in my antena i need a wifi booster or something like the delovo ethernet extenders. otherwise my wi-fi conection is now poor and i can't record episodes.

Got to use on laptop when away from home. Setup and got MOST of the stations I currently get. Software a bit clunky.

The tuner works as advertised, both with NPVR and the included WinTV. That said, even the updated WinTV 8.5 has such a clumsy way of scheduling recordings that it is essentially unusable. The software developer behind this mess was either deliberately instructed to implement a kluge at minimal cost, was just plain lazy, or else Hauppauge genuinely believes that its customers enjoy playing with tedious toys. Install WinTV for the codecs, and then run NPVR.

Got this to use with my Nvidia Shield and Plex. Works great, easy set up. Gets all the local channels and records up to two shows at once or watch one show and record another one. Good for the money spent.

Beautiful picture, works every time I set it. I really enjoy this USB tuner. I'd definitely recommend it. Having two tuners is a great plus, also.

My new Hauppauge - WinTV-dualHD USB Video Recorder allows me to record a TV program on my HP750 PC's C Drive to view later while I'm watching a perfect picture on a different channel AND at the same time toggling to work on my email or internet research! Talk about multi-tasking! I can view one TV program full screen while keeping an eye on another picture in a small view in a corner of the screen. I am connected via coax to a TV antenna located directly above me in my attic. I get, FREE, 14 broadcast channels, with NO cable and NO satellite bills!

This product has provided me with the capability of watching one TV program off the air via an antenna while recording another for later viewing. With the latest software upgrade I have also been able to use it to listen to radio programs. I had initially installed it for Windows 8 and had no problems continuing to use it following the upgrade to Windows 10. Although it met all my expectations for the functions described above, I did not give it five stars as this model does not include the capability to record from composite or S-Video inputs which was available with the earlier WinTV-HVR-955Q.

This module for playing tv on your computer or laptop works very well with an antenna or cable connection. And it records shows to your hard drive to view later. 4 stars because I couldn't get the remote to work. Could be me on that one.

This dual tuner works very well. Comes with software to record shows, but I would splurge for the $10 software WinTV Extend which will make so you can watch tv on any computer away from home. Software is a little tricky to operate, but once it's setup, it's great.

Great for watching and recording at the same time or recording two shows at once. Perfect for my htpc set up. The wintv8 app seriously sucks so if you don't have windows media center you'll have to use it or something else. It did work well with kodi. Haven't tried it on a laptop away from home but I'm anxious to. The fact that it's USB and portable is awesome.
