My dad loves this show so it makes for a great birthday, Father's Day, or Christmas when I get him a season.

I watched several episodes from this season. I was surprised to see some hard hitting acting from Mark Lenard (Sarek of Star Trek Fame), and from Will Geer (Grandpa from the Waltons).
Mark Lenard portrays a mad man bent on completing an act of sabotage he was sent to complete 18 years beforehand. Will Geer plays a genetic scientist who plays a mental game of chess with Mc Garret's arch nemesis, Wo Fat. I paticularly enjoyed the exchange between Mc Garrett and Wo Fat.
I was even surprised to see Loretta Switt (Hot Lips Hoolihan on MASH) in the series premiere.
This is pure gold for Five-O fans.
The only thing missing is the "Bored, She Hung Herself" episode.

Even though this television series suffers from a certain degree of "dated-ness" it's still fun. It's great to watch the old episodes and see Hawaii the way it was in the early '70's. The acting is better than I expected in many cases, and they have some pretty good guest stars. They also have some fun extras on the Special Features of the DVD. Mostly it's just fun to see Steve McGarrett and the gang together again - and who would want to miss Dano booking 'em!

This is not the complete second season of shows. It is missing a show called "Bored She Hung Herself". This show was only aired once on January 7 1970.

Not the best Season

couldn't wait for this to be released, but apparently some of the best shows were in the later seasons. some of these episodes are pretty lame, quite dated and just not very good. Season one had a few memorable episodes, but so far, I am on disk four and haven't found an episode I like yet. And this was one of my favorite shows. I must have missed several of these when it was on broadcast tv, because I don't remember some of them. I know better seasons are coming down the road, but I can't recommend this particular set, just not worth the money. Buy it if you have to have the whole collection, otherwise, I would pass.
