Small enough for attaching to an arm band for running or exercising.

It is good once you get it up and running. It is not as user friendly as I would like and the signal is not the best; but the price and portability make up for it.

Best sensitivity I have ever found in a portable HD radio

I was looking for a small headset radio to use when I walk on the track at our local YMCA. This little radio is perfect. I have been using it over two years and it still works great!!

This device has crystal-clear HD sound, plus additional stations you may not find anywhere else!

I bought this for my special needs teen to listen to music and not have internet access. She really likes it and finds it easy to use.

Item was good using it outdoors but when took it to work no reception

I would prefer a more streamlined option that has greater versatility. I will likely end up with an iPod Nano.

Product ok, sometimes poor reception. Good radio for what we use it for. This was the only choice available. I have to keep typing to reach 50 characters.

Didn't realize it works only with earphones. Very poor reception and I am in the center of the city with no obstructions. Would not recommend. Go with a sangean portable. Best radio I have ever owned

This is my third Insignia radio. That is the only complaint. They seem to wear out fast. Obviously I like the radio or the ability to listen on public radio on HD or I wouldn't keep buying another radio.

This item is just what I wanted: a compact, portable HD radio to listen to the HD side-band of my favorite classical music station. With this radio, I can avoid the wasteland of contemporary FM radio broadcasting. The sound is good, the controls are intuitive and the reception with the antenna built into the earphone cord is really very, very good (with negligible signal drop-out). Two characteristics I really like are (a) this item stays on-channel -- it does not revert to the analog FM signal of the station when the HD signal drops-out and (b) the fact that you really do not need a computer to recharge the battery. Quite often, FM radio stations broadcast entirely different program content on the main analog channel and the HD sub-channels, so staying on-channel even when there is a brief signal drop-out is a great feature -- no surprises blasting into your ears. Also, you can use a readily-available universal USB charger to recharge the battery -- as long as you can match the specs (5V DC, at least 500mAh current). I discovered that my cell phone charger is a perfect match for this radio!

I've waited a long time for portable HD Radio. Before this unit only car radios or home table radios or tuners had HD. How well it will work for you obviously depends on how good FM reception is in the area you want to use it. Like all other small FM radios without external telescoping antennas, the earphone cable is the antenna so if you live close to a lot of stations it will work well for you. If you live further away you may find reception depends on how you locate the earphone wires. Do you remember messing with rabbit ear antennas on TV's to get good reception? FM on portable radios works the same way. I live 35 miles away from most Seattle FM stations in a relatively hilly area and yet I can receive all of the HD subchannels (hd2, hd3, etc) that are listed in the area. I usually listen to Jazz 24 on hd2 indoors while reading and have no problem with signal loss. I recently took the radio with me on a trip to the Portland area and found reception much more solid there. I agree with a previous reviewer that this radio has the best analog FM reception and sound of any portable FM I've owned and they cost up to five times this price. I like the size, shape and control layout of the radio. The display is very readable. I'd like user a replacable battery since the idea of this being "disposable" does not appeal to me but that would also affect size and shape of the unit. Battery life seems very good. I did not try the supplied earphones but the sound for HD channels with my Sony's is great and noticibly better than analog FM. Some reviewers criticize the radio for no AM HD. Since AM requires a larger built-in antenna, the size and cost would grow considerably. It does not have built-in MP3 capability. Fine with me, I already have an excellent player and don't want to pay for another. I would expect those will be on the market in time. The bottom line is this is an excellent radio. It will not perform miracles in very bad reception areas but definitlely worthwhile if you will use it in an area of reasonable FM reception.

Great radio, my second. Almost lost it when using the belt clip, doesn't hold it tight enough, but my pockets work, front for work, back for running.

I like this hd radio but availablity is low. I tried in all over the country and it wasn't available for months.
