I’ve looked for karaoke machine for several weeks. I found some cheap choices but looked really like a toy for a 5 year old kid while I wanted something more “Adult” looking. I used my own Shure mic and BMB speakers to connect, and so far the sound quality matched my expectation. When I was going to buy the microphone cable, there’s nowhere on the manual to mention what kind of mic cable I should use. For this reason, I’ll just give it four stars.

This is not as easy as plugging in a machine, hooking up some good quality microphones and playing some good songs. I wish it was. First off, this machine does not score your performance. It is complicated. Could not find popular songs, for example nothing decent from The Eagles. Could not play Hotel California if you wanted to, this should be basic and easy to find / buy. Every song as to be "rented" - don't know if that means you are buying it or only renting for a limited time. Again, far too complicated. I returned the unit.

After finally getting this hooked up and working, I was hoping to sing something basic, like Hotel California from the Eagles. Can't get it on this unit. There is a lot you cannot get and it does not score your performance either. Couple that with a required monthly membership - just not worth it.

For those who love Karaoke, there is a new system available which offers thousands songs and frequent updates. The HDK Box is a remarkable product as it offers so many options all for a low, competitive cost. For those who want a Karaoke machine for their personal use this is a good one. The advantages the HDK Box brings are considerable starting with the immense song selection that is frequently updated all via internet connection. Plus, if you have any issues, concerns, or questions about the device the customer service department is simply outstanding. All inquiries are answered quickly and any issues with the HDK Box are handled in a professional manner. Perhaps the most impressive aspect of this device is that you can record your own voice singing along to your favorite songs. While hearing yourself sing may or may not be all that thrilling, the fact that you can record your voice means that you can work to improve your overall performance. I will definitely recommend this to those who sing a lot and love to hear their own singing recordings.

My boyfriend wanted a karaoke player for her birthday gift. I chose this one for him because it looks high-end and professional. When I got the machine, I was satisfied with the packaging. It feels like it worths the price. The box comes with a wifi adapter which can accept wifi signal. I don’t like this part. I’ll prefer a built-in wifi receiver. Well, it doesn’t matter much. And then we used the subscription card to activate our box. The activation process was a little long but we enjoyed that and was excited to play our first song successfully. Here I want to give you a tip! Don’t forget to activate your account on email!!! Or you cannot activate your box! I didn’t activate my account at first and it cost me tons of time to figure out what was happening and finally the customer service representative guided me to activate my account.

Admittedly, I was a bit skeptical at first when I saw all the features that the HDK Box 2.0 offered, but then I saw some of the customer reviews and decided to give it a shot. If anything, I underestimated just how good this unit is when it comes to the song selection, new updates, and fantastic video quality. The HDK Box 2.0 comes with a mobile app that can be used to control all the operations which makes running it real simple. I run karaoke events on the side for parties, company events, and the like and this relatively simply device offers a considerable amount of features. Most importantly is the song selection with over 7,000 to start with which are fully licensed and are augmented regularly. I have a USB device to store the songs for playback and one of the great features is being able to record your own voice and then upload the results to Facebook. I cannot say enough about how versatile the HDK Box 2.0 is when it comes to the number of songs, the excellent HD quality video, and the ability to record a great take and upload it for everyone to see and hear. All that is needed is an internet connection which is simple enough where I go to perform. For anyone who loves karaoke and event those who have a side business this is a truly great karaoke machine. I cannot recommend it highly enough and I’m sure you’ll be impressed as well.

The setup was very straight forward. The tutorial videos were very helpful, if you're not tech savvy. You would need to active the service before using it. This one is great entertainment for home party and for family use. It's a little expensive but worth the penny.

I got the HDK Box for Chinese new year, because relatives would come to our house for family gathering party. I thought my relatives and my parents would have some trouble using the box because it's more high tech than the older karaoke machine, but nope, they love it, and they said it's just like the tradition karaoke machine once it's connected to the internet.
