If I were a U.S. Marine I would be laughing myself silly at the portrayal of the group of misfits who won't take orders from any sergeant. These are cartoon characters who never would have survived boot camp. Still, it makes for an entertaining encounter with Clint Eastwood as their new sergeant and ultimately it does show Marines at their best. Clint quickly shows these misfits who is in charge and shapes them up while doing battle with a clueless officer with his own agenda. Competition in war games segues to the real deal in Grenada. Eastwood and his cohorts prove that grit and common sense can always best stupidity and arrogance as they defeat enemies -- foreign and domestic. Great fun.

This is Classic Clint at his best with a excellent classic cast. With a little twist of dirty harry mixed in HeartBreak Ridge is one of Clint eastwood best war movie of today.

Great movie! Eastwood plays tough guy drill seargent with one liners that rival "Go ahead, Make My Day". Mario Van Peebles plays a screw up who turns out to be a great maring.

I found the movie in a bargain bin & thought it was a great deal $3.99. Ill be honest I haven't watched it yet , but I watched it as a child and loved it . I'm saving watching it for a rainy weekend to stay in and enjoy it.

I remember liking this movie when I saw it "back in the day", so I wanted to get it for my video library. I remember that it had some good comedic moments, along with dramatic, etc.

For a Clint Eastwood movie, it was good. Not typical for him, like his westerns.
