Written by Krzysztof Kieslowski ( The Three Colours Trilogy "Heaven, Hell and Purgatory"), directed by Tom Tykwer (Run Lola Run, Cloud Atlas), starring Cate Blanchett and on Blu-ray for around $6.00-- what could go wrong? Well, a few things...a rather rare and unseen Italian/German film that to my knowledge was not readily available on DVD. Probably for the best-- a slow moving, at times tedious semi-thriller that begs you to push the fast forward button on the remote. Tykwer's direction is good but seems subdued and rather boring at times but nevertheless is competent and has moments of brilliance. The picture quality is nothing to write home about-- if there is a DVD release I doubt this Blu-ray was a major improvement...but the Blu-ray is only a few bucks...much less than dragging yourself to the movie theatre and paying 3 times as much for something of less quality. Buy it and see for yourself...it is worth $6.00, but not much more...
