This is good movie but please don't let children under 13 watch this! Other than that I would recommend.

A cult classic for good reasons. Not for kids, but cartoons aren't just for kids. An anthology of short films, all with different plots, settings and animation styles. All good and some great special features to compliment the film.

A movie not for the faint of heart ,even if it is animated! A good sci fi if you like that kind of thing plus gore and nudity, A fantasy for adults but don't forget the rock and roll by Heavy Metàl greats as Blàck Sabbath Blue Oyster Cult ,Sàmmy Hagar and Don Feldeŕ to name a few!

If you enjoyed the cheesing episode of South Park, then you'll love this movie as it was the main reference in the episode. I could watch this movie on repeat due to it's 80's charm and great soundtrack. The movie is pretty raunchy and not suitable for kids. It's great! Lol

Went to see this at a midnight showing so many years ago; bought the soundtrack as soon as it was finally available. My favorite song was Heavy Metal (Takin a ride) Blue ray tremendously improves the picture. Great trip back to my youth.

I used watch on Tv cable back in the day now finally part of my collection I still plan on getting the more recent steelbook that comes with this and the other version

I saw this movie in the theater several times and it is one of my favorite movies. I saw it in a bargain bin and grabbed it up. Waiting to watch it until I get my surround sound hooked up.

Seen this movie when it first came out in the theatres years ago. The film was good for what it is fantasy, cartoon, etc... But then you realize wow EXCELLENT soundtrack as well. People may not remember but several songs charted and still get played on XM, radio, etc...

Showing my age here but this is an absolute requirement old & young and in many ways defined a generation of animation but also rock and roll. With a compelling story, multiple graphic artists, and a killer soundtrack. Your losing out if you have mever seen it. Highly recommended!!!!!

Finally got a copy of the movie I saw back in the day!! If you are a Heavy Metal Magazine fan this is for you! ….not for your little kids tho!

Heavy Metal absolutely RULES. It's a movie made for teenage boy sensibilities and in that sense it knocks it out of the park. Superhero crap can't compare to the pure id on display here. I only wish it came in a cool steelbook or something, but oh well this was cheap.

This is the animated cult classic that started it all. It's crude, funny and ultimately as strange as they come. This is a must have for every weirdo out there with an interest in cult films. The Blu-ray looks great and it's affordable.

Adult Animation at its finest !This movie is a blast from the past before digital animation. Everything was drawn frame by frame. That's what makes it so special. It weaves the story together connecting the various animations like reading a classic comic book. The mild nudity and violence were quite edgy at the time of its release, especially for an animated film.

An awesome film that never grows old.The generation that this comes from was the greatest, maybe you had to be there, if you weren't, you can still enjoy the stories and music.

This was a great movie from my youth. Love the music and the animation. The price was right to and the picture looks great! I'm not some audiophile who's gonna get into all the presentation details. It is still a lot of fun for $10 dollars!

If this movie were made today, the soundtrack would have to be much less pop than this one. But ues, I understand times were different. What is nice to see is the animation, which is both classic and thorough. It so badly beats most of today's animated movies, which are hastily animated with little attention to detail.

Fantastic example of fringe cartoon/music merging in the 80's. If you like hard-hitting cartoons with a wry/twisted sense of humor and metal 80's music, you should really like this one.

Since 1981, I've owned this on VHS, Betamax, DVD and finally Blu-ray. Some of the best animated visuals tied to one of the greatest soundtracks ever. You will find yourself asking "Hey, do we have any of that Plutonian Nyborg left?"

Enjoyable for the artwork, music, and generally strange nature of the work. A unique sci fi movie that may be an acquired taste.
