I was on the fence for a while but now I'm SO glad I pulled the trigger on this 4K release. It's the absolute best the film has ever looked or sounded. If you're a fan of Heavy Metal and you have 4K at home DO NOT hesitate. This is the last version to ever own at home. Period.

They did a very good job with the 4k transfer. The colors are bright and vibrant and the lines are clear. Plus the Heavy Metal 2000 film on blu ray included, while not as interesting as the original it is still worth a watch if you like the style.

I am rating the 4K disc. Not the actual cartoon. You either like Heavy Metal or you don't. The picture is at least 30% better than the standard Blu-Ray. The sound isn't even close. The Atmos mix blows the Blu-Ray away. It is definitely worth the up grade.

Finally received a Steelbook not dented like crazy despite the flimsy packaging. Best Buy still refused to ship these "Collectible Steelbooks" in a box that actually respects the Collector. Movie is great, sequel is OK...both look and sound good.

Steelbook cover does use the standard movie poster, but still a powerful image. Movie still holds up for me after all these years, so nice to see this 4K version. Great rocking soundtrack. (Ignore the included bonus sequel movie HM2000.)

Today's teens & twenty-somethings probably won't like it, but this was a cool movie back in the day. Still is, and if you like this kind of weird sci-fi, it's never looked better! Great soundtrack, too!

This 4K release of this cult classic has it all. Beautiful steel book,awesome transfer and it comes with the follow up Heavy Metal 2000. I’ve waited quite a while for this to release on 4K and I wasn’t disappointed.

Worth the upgrade to the 4k blu ray which the HDR brings a good depth in details and color range. The new sound tracks really has good separation and the music come to life which enhances the movie like never before

Always been a cool movie to watch, especially for the rockers out there and those who remember seeing this film new at the drive-ins upon the original release. Had to have this limited 4K steelbook for my library.

Awesome Transfer with Fantastic Packaging…All 3x Discs have different disc artwork. It’s a little Pricey, but the quality is there. Great if your a fan of the film and it’s artwork, you won’t be disappointed!!!

Great movie, great animation, if you grew up in the late 70 and early 80 and still remember the music, and great animations of the days, this is for you. Then again its Heavy Metal, no need to say more.

Have to say this 4k release of this movie is top notch not only that get can 2 movies for the price of 1, the dolbyvision and dolby atmos give this movie and its nostalgia the great push it needed.

This is one of my all time favorite animated full length movie from when I was growing up. Once I heard they were releasing a Steelbook it was a no brainer. The steelbook is gorgeous in hand!

The ultimate release for fans of this animated rock classic. Picture quality and sound are top-tier. The steelbook itself is gorgeous. And the lesser sequel is included as a nice bonus.

Of your a fan, pick this up! I’ve always loved this film, and now it’s not only available in high quality but also in a steelbook. Not to mention the digital copies. I’m very pleased.

As soon as I saw this was available, I grabbed a copy. Love this cult classic. This 4K edition is a huge upgrade over the old Blu-ray edition. Colors pop. Sound quality is great.

Ok,first off i dont write to many reviews.But on this one why not.Movies itself arent a bad transfer ,to me anyway.Heavy Metal is just one of those movies you can watch several times over. but part 2 isn't as good as the 1st.Packaging is also ok. but seems like it has been regurgitated from previous releases. It wasnt worth the purchase for me.The digital copy was also a dissappointment.Heavy Metal Reddeems in 4K but Heavy Metal 2000 only redeems in HD...a bit of a letdown on this also.Overall..was kinda dissappointed.Why would they advertise to get you to buy 4K but only get HD. HUGE let down. Extras,nothing really new except the documentary inclusion which is cool but own these on other releases but got this for digitsal only really and the collectors steelbook.Just wasnt woth 35.00. But if your a collector or never seen these movies.It would be a good buy for you.but if youve seen em like i have on other releases.not a huge bargain.

A classic that still holds it's own. The 4K transfer is amazing, the steel book case is awesome and its comes with the sequel. Can't go wrong with this version of Heavy Metal

A quality 4K that is nice and filmic, it really makes this release sing. The steelbook is one of the better looking releases, art wise, that has been released this year.
