Hell Fest in 4K offers a blast of color and clarity, with a high dynamic range and intense lighting
The movie follows a serial killer who targets victims at a horror-themed fair called "Hell Fest"
While the concept has potential, the movie falls short in execution, lacking deadly pizazz and relying too heavily on labored sets and predictable scares.
The 4K version of the movie is technically impressive, but the movie itself may not be worth the watch for horror fans seeking a truly terrifying experience.

This slasher could not be any more mediocre... and that is exactly what the genre needs. This was the Funhouse but so much better, a true throwback to the 90s era slashers. I am calling it now, Bex might become the next Linnea Quigley. Her run on Scream and now this treats her as the hipster punk that is just waiting to get diced. Good cinematography especially for a movie that is supposed to primarily take place in the dark. My major criticism is the lack of staying power for the slasher. He (or she) was just meh. I hope we get a lot of releases like this in the coming years. Again, nothing special, but that’s what makes it special.

'Hellfest' lives up to its name, or near enough to get the viewer far out of Horror Purgatory. Setup: Killer antagonist sneaks in, anonymously, to Horror-themed parks to wreak havor-horror on those who are fairly indifferent to the common, everyday jump-scare.
I won't give too much of the plot away, but you can envision where the storyline goes from here. Characters are solid, likable, and easy to join with (villain included, is likable the right word?) and the masks are pretty darn cool. A solid horror buy.

I liked it. I found Hellfest to be nicely done. I would’ve given it more had I not found myself yelling at the characters for be a little too predictable.
I’ll watch it again down the line so I liked it.
Watching how the park was done made me wish there really were a Hellfest. So it’s only natural to feel immersed and wonder how differently you would perform given the same situation.
The girl I watched it with jumped a couple of times so that was fun.
And the ending is plausible.

This isn't going to be a classic film on any AFI lists anytime soon, but if you're in the mood for an old school slasher, that has great atmosphere because of it's inspired location, this will be a fun ride.
The location and way it's shot make this an a 4K title that has some of the most fun HDR on the market. So many colors and highlights popping through and invading the screen while at the same time in very dark and shadowy locations.

I saw this in the theatres when it came out. I love horror movies and in a theme park what could be better? Though this movie had some really good scares and had good potential. I am not a fan of the ending at all. It left it open for a sequel and now I need to know the back story of the killer cause it made no sense to me. It's still a good movie!

Good movie with a good amount of tension. Only complaint is the third fourth of this movie seems really rushed. Not on a quality standpoint, but rather the pacing just goes into high speed but then whips back to a proper pace right after. Not a perfect movie by any means, but a nice taste of good horror that is very rare in modern media.

This was actually a decent movie. I loved the horror theme park aspect. Very original in my opinion. I loved each character my favorite however is Bex Taylor-Klaus (Taylor}. The only thing I didn't like is, you never find out who the killer is or why he's killing. Maybe that's what makes it a little creepy. I just wish we had more of background who he really is. I mean, you find out very little but not enough understand why he kills. Overall I really liked this and will enjoy watching it again.

We took a chance and watched this movie a few years ago . It was a pretty good horror flick. My teenage son really liked it so I decided to just buy it since it was one of his favorite horror movies

Really fun, colorful, and even genuinely unsettling slasher movie. I hope more people discover this gem because it didn’t deserve the lukewarm-to-negative reception it got. It has a perfect atmosphere for October viewing as well.
The 4K transfer is gorgeous too. Crazy clarity and eye-popping colors. Can’t recommend this release enough!

The moment I saw the trailer for this one I knew I had to see it. A relentless psycho killer on the loose at a horror themed amusement park? Sign me up. It hits all the right tropes for the genre with a couple of cool twists. I hope they make a sequel.

Many movie studios don't give their films the 4K treatment, but I'm glad Lionsgate has released this movie on the format. We could use a little more horror, among other genres, in 4K. Not every release has to be an action blockbuster so I highly recommend this movie if you're a fan of 90s slashers or horror movies in general, especially if you have a Dolby ATMOS surround sound system and a good 4K TV.

Movie is your typical scary movie. But if that's all your looking for it's good. One thing they do if you like it is not cut away from the kill shot. Wasn't expecting a couple of them. But cus of it made the movie a little different then most.

watched this on a 4K HDR tv with Dolby Vision. 4K in this looks really good. The colors really pop, which is important on a movie that depends a lot on the visual production.
Story wise it’s a mixed bag. Everyone’s mileage will vary, but I found this a fairly enjoyable straight up slasher film. It seems to play like someone trying to make a modern day Michael Myers, and it’s mostly successful. What it lacks is a truly memorable villain and a real vision for the scares. A LOT of missed opportunities, but it does move quick and is very fun. A must have for fans of the sub-genre and the casual slasher fan as well, but lower your expectations going in for a truly fun time.

I was bored one day so I went to see it in the theater with low expectations. I was surprised by how good it was. The dialog was smart and felt authentic to the characters. Good kill scenes. Liked it enough to pick it up on 4K.

This movie, for the most part, delivers on its unique premise. It's a slasher that does its job in the "slashing" department, plus it creates this intense atmosphere that keeps you invested until the credits roll.

I bought this movie on a whim after reading about the movie. I am really glad that I did. I really enjoyed this 4K Blu-ray a lot. It reminded me of such great classics like: Halloween, Friday the 13th, Evil Dead, Tucker and Dale vs. Evil. Another great new addition to the Horror genre is Blood Fest. Both are great new takes on the horror genre.

The slasher resurgence begins with this movie and Halloween in 2018. This is exactly what you expect from slasher movie set in an amusement park. The haunted house set pieces were great and the suspense continues to heighten throughout the movie. My only gripe is that only 2 of the kills were creative. The rest were a bit tame.
