Loosely based on the real life exploits of serial killer Henry Lee Lucas. They just don't make movies like this anymore. Not sure if it's a film to condemn, or acclaim.

I saw this film YEARS ago and forgot how much I really liked it until I purchased the blu ray a few weeks back. The film is listed as one of the 50 most distrubing films of all time and deserves to be on that list. Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer IS a disturbing movie and Michael Rooker's performance as Henry is dead on chilling, making for a film that is sure to stick around inside your head for some time after veiwing it. There was no way I was passing this film up, esp at that price and I'm glad to finally now have it in my collection.

Great movie, disturbing for its frank, unglorified and downright frightening portrayal of a man who is truly evil. Impressive, chilling performances, especially the main character, Henry, devoid of any remorse or empathy as he goes on killing. I hate reviews that spoil the movie by delving into the synopsis, so I will leave it at "see it for yourself" - not for the faint of heart (this is definitely a dark story) but well worth the time.

An absolute must see. Cannot recommend this film more highly. Also, excellent special features on this Blu-ray. I've heard this film described as "horror meets art-house" or "a week in the life of a serial killer with no social commentary". I think both are apt descriptions of this film. Again, highly recommend viewing the special features on the Blu-ray. Well worth your time.

This is roughly based on the story of Henry Lee Lucas. There is some direct pulls from his life and some from the confessions that were made up in order to gain favors from law officals who were trying to clear their books of many unsolved cold cases. Micaheal Rooker (most recently Merle Dixion of AMC's Walking Dead) notable delivers a strong performance in this simple movie (the movie was shot on 16mm with an extremely modest budget of ~110K).

One of the scariest films I have ever seen. This film will make you feel like you just got punched in the stomach. Absolutely horrifying and based on a true story makes it even more frightening. Picture quality is okay and sound is just decent. Special features are good.

This film is incredible. Absolutely love Michael Rooker. This is something I've wanted on Bluray but honestly never thought about. Glad I was able to find it at such a great price. If you have never seen this, stop what you are doing and watch it.

I've been looking for this movie for a long time and finally found it at Best Buy.This movie is very hard core and not for the squemish. Very violent and it is loosely based on the setisl killer Henry Lee Lucas.

This is a get under your skin horror movie based on a real serial killer. Saw this years back on VHS and the transfer to Blu-Ray looks great. Definitely recommend for true horror fans.

Henry is a disturbing movie even today. The performances are great and the direction is good. The blu-ray is good as well. The picture and sound are fantastic. The special features are worth the price alone. Commentary, making of, and more.

Made low budget classic B horror movie, but still good. Micheal Rooker was great acting, like real serial killer, Just like no reason of Killing and violence to Women.... It is old movie, the picture and sound not much better than DVD.

The only reason I won't give this movie FIVE stars is because it's a movie you might only want to see ONE TIME.... that might be enough for most. Definitely NOT something you'd probably want to see over and over again.

A film based on two real life serial killers is true horror. No fantasy like Jason or Freedy Kruger, this is true horror at it finest. You been warned.

It's Henry on BluRay and it was like $7. Good deal. This movie is pretty messed up. Michael Rooker is the man.

This movie is a classic, highly recommended for all horror fans. Well worth the upgrade from dvd to blu ray.
