This is a feel good, Sunday type of groove, take a ride CD

She has gotten raw and truthfully street on this cd! Alicia takes it 2 tha hood and talks about poverty and real hood problems and woes! Which paint a painful reality of what occurs in everday life 2 b poor and in the ghetto!its a reality masterpiece that paints a picture. Close your eyez and listen and watch the movie! She rapping and singing with nas and that 1 love joint is worth the price of the cd alone! Listen learn and love her 4 keepin it real and speaking tru! She been a genius since early on! Classicly trained pianist! A prodigy at a early age! This c project concept is ballsy and perfect! Put it on play and let it run thru! Stop look and listen 2 the words and relish in its entirety! Its amazing and wonderful! Alicia h its pay dirt once again! Praise tha lord! Amen

Mrs keys always bringing that HEAT she never disappointed me at all when it comes to her music her music is as beautiful as she is that's why it compliments her so well faith love emotions trails and tribulations and real life defines only half of this well put together body of works !!! A solid effort from the great Alicia Keys,it does fall a star short of her earlier work. The singing and musicianship are superb ,but its when she diverts from the neo soul that she is so talented at,it falls a tad flat. That said, This could be her biggest seller due to her current exposure as a judge on "The Voice."

Alicia knock this out the park! This is a masterpiece! This album expresses struggle, pain, self identity, sexuality, spirituality, and self beauty. This album is beautiful from top to bottom from beginning to end. She opens up and speaks about poverty and centers it around New York. The New York native also pulls from great hip hop artists and civil rights activist such as Elaine Brown and Nas to enhance her visual story of self empowerment and loving thy self. Each song flows into a new story that speaks to the times of now. This album is timely and is REFRESHING. It is needed to be heard. Thank you Alicia for sending us another masterpiece.

I still have to listen to this album more before it goes into heavy rotation, but after two listens...kudos to her. I love the interludes for the songs. It's like an explanation of the true meaning of the lyrics. I think it's an honest piece of work that people everywhere can relate to.

I love Alicia Keys and that is why I wanted to have this Music CD in my collection. However, this CD was a bit different than her previous work. While I enjoyed several songs on the album, some were not to my liking. Nonetheless I do not regret having bought it.

I bought this cd because I love the song In Common. But I haven't listened to this entire cd as much b/c I bought the Meghan Trainor cd at the same time and it's so good I can't listen to anything else. But I remember liking what I heard so far

I do like quite a few songs on this CD. Like other reviewers, I just wish it was a more traditional Alicia Keys CD where it was all about the songs and her beautiful voice. The narrative fillers were a minor distraction for me.

an ok attempst for a great artist but expected much more...I understand why it isn't getting much airplay as none of the songs are really that great......I would not recommend this .......just ok......

I have loved all of Alicia's keys albums and this one is no exception. For comparison, it reminds me more of her 2003 'Diary of Alicia Keys' and maybe 2001's 'Songs in A Minor' - more of the R&B tracks than say her more piano-filled 2007 'As I Am' or 2009's 'Element'. It is a very strong album with some great jams and shorter interludes that are poetic and powerful. I also love that the front cover pictures her with no makeup. She is an important voice.

I have to be honest, initially I wasn't really feeling Alicia's new music. After listening a couple of times I must say, it's pretty good! Buy, buy, buy! You won't be disappointed.

Alicia Keys, Here ?, or is she really ? I am not sure where she was or what state of mind she was in when she recorded most of these tracks. Most of the track sound more like Urban Folk songs rather than R&B. In My opinion She has evolved into a Diva who just records because she can, not for the passion of the music. This album is not as Soulful as I had expected. she is too talented and mature to just put out anything like Beyoncé and her lemonade nonsense. Lemon-Aid should be it's title.

I've been a fan of hers for many years so I had to get her newest release. It's not a bad album per se, but I would definitely not rank it up there with her best.

Another solid set from Alicia Keys. Maybe not quite her very best work in my opinion, but only second best to herself and some of her earlier albums and work.

It has a few really good songs but not what I was hoping for! I really expected this to be much better than it was, but it isn't a complete flop either

This cd has good new musid from Alicia, but a specific song I was looking for wasn't on this cd. Kind of disappointed, but still enjoyed it

I bought her CD after attending Alicia Keys rodeo performance. She did great at her concert. It inspired me to buy her latest CD.

If you've heard on Keys album, you've heard this album. While she does break any new ground, she knows her formula and it works.

I have always been a fan of her vocals but this album didn't have a lot of range to it. i love the lyrics but i miss the vocals.
