This movie literally made my jaw drop at first viewing. No movie has ever done that before. Well no movie made in the US at least. Movie is great overall.

I feel like the product isn’t awful, so I’m torn on tbis review. The movie was in good quality but I really don’t thinn this benefits all that much from 4KU BD. I feel like this could be done just as well with a standard Blu Ray, but what do I know? The packaging is fine, the disc doesn’t fall of it’s spindle and the box is appealing enough. As for the movie? Awful. It starts so strong and so mysteriously which really helps the audience get into it because as a viewer I felt so compelled to understand it. I was theorizing as soon as it started getting odd- but then they throw mystique out the window and fully override the story with supernatural elements that ruined the entire experience for me and the person who I watched it with. I seldom enjoy a horror movie due to their campy, predictable and awful writing and unfortunately this one falls into the same pit. This movie started with so much energy but it spends it all in the first two acts and the final third of this movie becomes the equivalent of a b movie that ran out of ideas a while ago and ditched any sense of mystery to instead say “because the devil”. I hated how this set me up and yet I see people praising this movie because of how crafty it was with it’s hidden symbols? No. The “symbols” they act as if they hid are too obscure to make sense of unless you’re watching the movie for a 2nd or 3rd time. I always say it afterwards and unfortunately I am saying it again this time “I really need to stop watching horror movies.”

Hereditary is an amazingly well done project. It’s visceral and hard to watch at times but well worth viewing, especially if you love horror movies

This movie was such a chilling horror. With an interesting and well played cast and story it kept me wanting more til the end. Worth buying!

Great horror film that you really have to watch all the details to fully appreciate.

This is the best horror movie of the year. If you like an intelligent psychological movie that will get under your skin this is it. A bit of a slow start but winds up with a spectacular finish. The last 15 minutes will haunt you. This is a family drama horror film equal parts ORDINARY PEOPLE and ROSEMARY'S BABY.

So my setup for this review is the OPPO UDP-203 UHD player, the 75” Sony X900F, with Belkin HDMI. This is honestly the most beautiful film I own. I feel like I am in the theatre again when I watch this film. The colors pop so well. The darks are incredibly dark, the highlights punch through as well. The image is so crisp. I absolutely love it. Dolby Vision is amazing, and I wish it were available in more 4K blu-ray releases.

One of those movies that just creeps you out. Something different and good, well acted.
