Reo Speedwagon "Hi Infidelity" is AWESOME Rock!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What a terrific album is "Hi Infidelity"! Released back in 1980, wow do I think the world of this album! Catchy, catchy, and as melodious as it gets with Rock & Roll. REO Speedwagon definitely created a set of songs here that were/still are Pop radio friendly. "Tough Guys" and "In Your Letter" are my favorite tunes, they are songs that were not considered as hits from this album, yet they very well could have been. "Keep On Loving You" is simply put, a Rock power ballad that explodes with emotion, due in part to the fabulous vocals of Kevin Cronin. What stands out for me with REO Speedwagon, especially on "HI Infidelity", is the superb play of Neal Doughty on the Hammond Organ. You can hear how special a sound the Hammond Organ gives to song, "Don't Let Him Go" is a perfect example. This album does rock, even with the dominating lyrics of love. Overall, the musicianship of the entire band is five star. Every song is great, no pretenders to be found on this album! At one time, this album was a #1 best seller, "Hi Infidelity" will always get high marks and consistent listens from me.
