Hiboy is definitely a really good choice for the price. You can interchange the parts and or replace them and Best buy always has your back for returns and accidents. If a price goes down and you just got it, you can get the current going price. I would also like to add that this scooter. It's very light and has 1year standard manufacture warranty. The scooter also has excellent headlights brake light and it goes 19 mph in it's sport mode.

The HiBoy S2 has been a great purchase. It’s lightweight, easy to fold, and perfect for quick commutes around the city. The 17-mile range is accurate, and the 19 mph speed feels just right—fast enough without being unsafe. Build quality is solid, and the ride is smooth even on slightly rough roads. The app connectivity is also handy for locking and tracking rides. Battery life holds up well, and charging is straightforward. Definitely worth it for the price, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable electric scooter.

A Huge Hit with My Daughter — Fun and Reliable!

I bought the HiBoy S2 Foldable Electric Scooter for my 11-year-old daughter for Christmas 2024, and it has quickly become her favorite thing—by far. From the moment she unwrapped it, she’s been completely hooked. Seven months in, it’s still going strong, and I can say with confidence that this was one of the best gifts I’ve ever given her. First Impressions & Setup Right out of the box, the scooter looks sleek and modern. The build quality is impressive—solid frame, clean lines, and a minimal but stylish design. It didn’t feel like a toy scooter at all, which was important to me. It feels sturdy, safe, and well-constructed. Assembly was minimal. Just a few quick steps to lock everything into place, charge it up, and it was ready to ride. We downloaded the HiBoy app, which pairs easily with the scooter and lets us monitor speed, battery life, and even adjust acceleration modes. That extra level of control is a nice feature, especially for a parent. Performance & Ride Quality This thing moves! It tops out at around 15–18 mph, depending on the terrain and rider weight, but there’s also a beginner mode that limits the speed, which we used for the first few weeks. The acceleration is smooth, and the braking system is reliable. It has both electric and manual brakes, which helps my daughter feel more in control. She rides it everywhere—around the neighborhood, to her friends’ houses, and even just up and down the block for fun. The ride is smooth, even on less-than-perfect pavement. The solid tires mean there’s no risk of flats, which was one of the big reasons I chose this model. Suspension is decent too; it handles small bumps and cracks with ease. The range has been excellent for our needs. She usually gets a few days of use between charges. When it does need charging, it’s quick and straightforward. The charger is compact and plugs into a standard outlet. No weird adapters or complications. Portability & Storage The folding feature works exactly as advertised. It’s quick to fold down, light enough to carry into the garage or house, and compact enough to fit in the trunk of a car. My daughter can fold it up on her own with no issue, and we’ve even brought it along on weekend trips. It’s also great for teaching responsibility. She’s careful about plugging it in when the battery gets low and makes sure it’s stored properly. It’s become part of her routine. Safety Features & Parental Peace of Mind Safety was a big concern when I was shopping for an electric scooter, and the HiBoy S2 checks a lot of boxes. The lights are bright—front, rear, and side visibility are great for riding at dusk. The dual braking system adds another layer of reassurance. Plus, with the app, I can limit the speed and keep tabs on how she’s using it. We also bought her a helmet and elbow/knee pads, which I highly recommend if you’re buying this for a younger rider. Pros and Cons Pros: • Easy to set up and use • Smooth, fast ride with excellent range • App connectivity for speed and mode control • Foldable and lightweight for portability • Strong frame and good battery life • No-maintenance solid tires Cons: • No seat option (not a dealbreaker, but would be nice for longer rides) • Ride can get a little bumpy on rough terrain • Not waterproof, so we avoid using it in wet weather Final Thoughts The HiBoy S2 Electric Scooter has been a total win in our house. It’s fun, fast, and easy to use—and it’s held up incredibly well over months of regular use. My daughter is obsessed with it, and I love that it gives her a bit of independence and outdoor time in a safe, reliable way. If you’re thinking about buying this for a kid or even a smaller adult, don’t hesitate. It’s well-built, packed with smart features, and delivers way more than I expected for the price. Easily one of the best gifts I’ve ever given.

I’ve had my Hiboy S2 for a little while now, and I absolutely love it! The ride is super smooth, and it’s got plenty of power for everyday commuting and weekend fun. The battery lasts a long time, and the brakes feel very safe and responsive. The folding design makes it easy to store and take with me anywhere. I’ve been using this electric scooter for a few weeks now and I’m really impressed. The battery life is solid—I can easily get through a full day of commuting and errands on a single charge. The ride feels smooth thanks to the suspension and sturdy tires, and it handles bumps better than I expected. Speed-wise, it’s quick enough to keep up with city traffic but still feels safe and stable. The brakes are responsive and give me confidence when I need to stop suddenly. I also love how portable it is—folding it up is simple, and it doesn’t take up much space in my car or apartment. Overall, this scooter has been a game-changer for short commutes and weekend rides. It’s reliable, convenient, and actually fun to ride. Definitely worth the investment!

The Hiboy S2 Foldable Electric Scooter is a solid, convenient choice for short commutes and city rides. It feels sturdy, accelerates smoothly, and folds easily for storage or carrying, which makes it great for apartment living or public transit. The battery life delivers close to the advertised range, typically around 12–15 miles per charge, and the brakes, headlights, and taillights all perform reliably. While the ride is smooth on flat surfaces, the solid tires and limited suspension make rough roads a bit uncomfortable, and the app connection can be inconsistent at times. Overall, it’s a dependable, well-built scooter that offers good value for the price, especially if you mostly ride on smooth pavement.

Long Term Review from a Daily Commuter

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Great product at great price. It goes 19 MPH. None of the scooters at this price do that. This is a commuter scooter for me. From home to train station daily. 2 miles each way. its durable. Since I am a long time daily user, 6 months, I can provide long time user perspective. I like that the Hiboy is front wheel drive. I think that prevents accidents like skids when the rear wheel is pushing and the front wheel might lose grip. Because it’s front wheel, less chance of skid, maybe… It works for me. The battery went from 100 percent to 48 percent each day for about the first 4 months. The battery might have degraded a bit, now for the same distance, the battery drops to 42 percent. When the battery drops below 50 percent, there is less acceleration. It still gets to 19MPH, but it does not get there as quick on my return trip home. For this reason, I charge daily, even though I have been able to make 3 runs trips without charging or working about a dead battery. I needed to put WD40 in the rear wheel after about 3 months to get rid of squeaking. eating. WD40 fixes that easily. The handle bar of the scooter gets a little lose at times and I need to tighten it, but that’s not very often. I have tightened the handle bar 2x in 6 months. Even when loss, the handle bar has no chance of coming off. Okay, that’s a long term review. I am providing detail from long term daily use. Despite everything that I said, this was the best investment that I made for commuting daily. For the price and use, it’s the perfect first time scooter. While I would imagine that I will eventually need a new scooter in the future, the only thing extra I would be looking for in a new scooter is consistent acceleration on both legs of my trip to and from the train station. But, I would not go for a scooter that is faster. If I got a scooter that went faster, I would probably limit the max speed to 20MPH, because I know myself, if I get something faster, I’d do something stupid and injure myself. One more thing, because I lock this scooter at the train station, it’s low price, the scooter is not something I worry about, even if someone stole it. The scooter is locked when I leave it. But no one will steal the scooter because it’s not high end. One more thing, at the train station, the scooter is locked indoors. I have no information about how this scooter will operate if left in the elements. When it rains, I drive. But this scooter saves me a $15 parking fee each day. It been paying for itself over an over again. If and when I do need another scooter, It’s entirely possible that I would buy the same one again.

You get so much value for this price. The motor is powerful, offering smooth acceleration and handling inclines well. Battery life is impressive, covering a good distance on a single charge. The build quality feels sturdy, with a comfortable ride, however suspension could be a little bit better. Lights are bright, brakes are responsive. For the price, this e-scooter delivers.

Excellent choice in learning how to ride an electric scooter. It is not the same as an electric bike, but if you don't feel comfortable on bikes (like me), this is a great option. Works very well on smooth grounds, but has no problem staying stable on rough terrain. Charge lasts well on normal mode, but speed mode is a blast. Don't forget to buy a lock and chain to keep your scooter safe. Foldable, can be put in a car's trunk. Easy instructions.

I’ve been using this electric scooter for a while now, and overall, I’m very satisfied with the purchase. It has everything I was looking for: long battery life, impressive speed, and excellent handling and mobility. Riding it feels smooth and responsive. That said, there are a couple of downsides worth mentioning. The scooter is heavier and bulkier than many standard electric models, which can make it less convenient to carry or store in tight spaces. However, considering I got it at a discounted price, I believe it offers great value for the money. If performance is your priority and you don’t mind the extra size, this scooter is definitely worth it.

It was a spur of the moment purchase, that has turned into many adventures. Easy to travel through our neighborhood, to restaurants, and travel to friends. 19MPH does not seem like much until you are going that speed. The charge holds really well. We were able to ride 6 miles, after 6 miles, it was still half charged. If you are thinking of purchasing one, this one is a good choice!

It's a fantastic mid-level scooter. It has a sleek design, folds up for storage in a car or small apartment, goes up to 19 mph (which I, personally, don't need to go any faster lest I skin myself on asphalt in a fall at max speed), and the battery is stated to last approximately 17 miles, which for me in my small beach town takes a good two months to drain. The wheels are solid rather than pneumatic, which means you don't have to worry about them deflating, and this guy handles most suburban terrains like grass, gravel, and packed sand. The only time I've gotten stuck is on beach sand, but you can unjam the break by simply hitting the gas with the wheel up and it will clear itself out. There's even an app to lock the scooter so nobody can try to ride it in locked mode (although I would still suggest a cable or U-lock through the back spokes for security when leaving it out of sight).

Love this scooter. It rides smooth and is very fast. I like the controls of the acceleration and brakes. The latch to bring the handbar down to store is a little tough to open and close, but otherwise it is lightweight and easy to use. Definitely worth the price and I think it is better quality than the other scooters out there.

Perfect for a beginner scooter, this is my first EScooter, as well as my daughter's. We use them everyday, the battery life is great. Charge time is pretty fast. The battery bar is reliable, I know with my ELongboard, 2 bars could be 10 miles or 2 miles. But, I have not had that issue with these! They fold up nicely, easy to navigate. The cruise control is an awesome feature so your thumb doesn't get tired! The lights are bright, so I am not concerned about being overlooked in the dark.
