    I have been a long time Akira Kurosawa fan, having seen "Seven Samurai" for the first time about 30 years ago, even on VHS! That raised my awareness, then my second Kurosawa movie was "Throne of Blood" and I was amazed, hooked, and enlightened! I have since went about collecting as many of his movies I could. It was only with this purchase that I even knew about "High and Low". Its hard to say what is "best" but rest assured this is one of his "best " top 3 or 5! Enough said.

    This is the movie that cemented my interest in all Japanese movies. I had watched all the old samurai movies and period piece movies and then I decided to watch this modern movie because it featured my favorite Director and actor and I was not disappointed. Very very good.

    If you don't have Criterion Channel, then definitely add this to your disc collection. It's one of Akira Kurosawa's non-samurai films that excels.

    Awesome criterion with really fast shipping and item was just as described. The criterion has a lot of cool supplements.

    Out of all the Kurosawa movies…this is my true favorite of his movies.
