I had this tv for only one month and the tv would start cutting off on its own. The remote would stop working and the buttons on the Tv. I would have to unplug the to to get it to cut off.

I love how it's so easy to control the tv. There is not a lot of guessing when going between cable and the DVD player.

The operating system of this television doesn't offer many apps...at least not popular apps for the U.S. I think there may be some newer versions of this television with a better operating system than the Opera that came with mine. On top of that I did have issues with the picture, It wound up with a line across the bottom 1/3 of the screen that was discolored. Fortunately I had a service plan/warranty which allowed me to trade it in for a different (4K) model.

It was the web browser that caught my eye...AND IT WORKS LIKE A CHARM! Well...BlueTooth capability would have been nice so I could link it to a remote keyboard/mouse combo but it's still fully functional with just the remote...simple to use and a snap to set up. Quality picture and sound. for the price!

This is my second hisense tv the first one was a 40" smart tv. I was a little disappointed in it due to it had no internet search program. But other than that I loved the tv the picture was as good as the samsung. Now this tv far exceeded my expectations and now they have added a search engine. The quality of the picture is that of a lot more expensive tv. The refresh rate is very noticeable on action scene's..

TV has excellent picture, good sound, and cheaper than most other TV's. This TV has the best written warranty I've read without a lot of confusion, and straight forward service plan. 2 year replacement is good deal, especially when others are offering only 1 years, and that you ship the product when the TV breaks at your cost to and from. I had this happen last year with SEIKI and cost me over $300, that is why I feel a good warranty is important.

    Great picture...except for live sports

I bought this TV on sale after Christmas for the $349 special. I loved that size and the features were everything I was looking for. A smart TV with 120hz+ refresh rate for a great price. The reviews were good so I went for it. Three hours later I was returning it. The only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 is because the HD picture was beautiful when using Netflix and YouTube. Exceptional quality. However, when using normal TV (watching Modern Family) it seemed to "skip" as if resetting the picture. I got online to see if I could adjust this. I replaced HDMI cables, I changed some settings and it got better, but did not completely fix the problem. The big reason I got this TV was for live sports. The HD picture during the close up shots AFTER the play were exceptional quality. The full field/court view during action of the game was terrible quality. It did not look like HD, there was a ton of "ghosting" even with the clear motion 480 on, it looked extremely pixelated, especially around the players. I changed every setting there was but could never get it to look full HD. I tried different channels and went back and forth between basketball and football with the same result. The skipping thing was terrible during live sports as well, especially during slow motion replay. The bottom line was the full action of sports did not have a good picture. I ended up returning it for a 40" Vizio which has the same specs for the same price and am much happier with it. Great picture for streaming Netflix, HULU, and YouTube...not good for watching actual TV.

    Still on the fence

My 46 Samsung UN46D6050 has developed horizontal lines at the top of the screen. Once it goes, it's a 46in tv paperweight. Hard to find the same internal specs and more than 2 HDMI ports. Bought this tv, after reading the negative reviews from several sites. I like to get a better idea of why it doesn't rate highly. Shipping or, it was too big, someone was mean to you at the store, etc...isn't a review, it's a complaint. So, that tends to weed out more of the lower ratings too and, get you to an actual product review. Otherside of that, sometimes companies, have paid employees, rate and review their own stuff, They give it better reviews than the product deserves. But, I don't work for them so, here goes...I'm still on the fence. I will agree with several reviewers, The speaker quality isn't that great. Have to adjust it to something that makes it sound more balanced, beyond the normal modes. Does have that tin can sound starting out, noticeable sound. And, like some have pointed out too, I've been tirelessly playing with the contrast and color, picture does have more of a white background display. It doesn't show fleshtones nearly as well as the samsung. Not trying to be nitpicky; however, if you are seriously considering this tv, it's something that one should be informed about. But, compared to bars across the screen, I haven't been really that distracted by it. While yes, the price is nice, that really isn't a selling point. Overall, the remote, wifi, box (item is packed really well), and the two years manufacturer warranty, makes it worth trying out. NOTE: While store tv display demos give you a good idea of what these tvs look like with visual stimuli...they are designed to be shown day after day, hour after hour, under florescent lighting. You can't totally base your decision off of the displays, decadent lighting or whatever, doesn't have the same effects when you bring them home. I have noticed that all of these new tv's look different from store to store. Then make Walmart or another 24hr equivalent store last on the tour. Trust me. Check it out one day, guarantee you'll understand what I'm talking about.

I read the reviews on this tv after seeing it in the showroom, noticing it had the best picture. Found 2 good reviews and 1 bad, but he just didn't understand how to adjust the tv. We love our Hisense tv. Took the time to make all the fine adjustments in settings and cannot rave enough about it. We added a JBL soundbar and are hard pressed to go out to the movies anymore.

    Overall Satisfaction

This TV is a great value. I was a bit skeptical of buying a tv branded with a less than popular brand name but the quality has matched my expectation. I will say that sometimes there is a short lag with the picture tuning to the higher quality when flipping channels and the round silver button on the remote feels a bit "wonkie" but overall I'm completely happy with my purchase.

When we first got the TV I was disappointed that the picture looked funny when watching a movie on bluray, it had a funny look, but after talking with the Home Theater folks at Best Buy they told me how to adjust the settings and it makes all the difference! Picture is extremely sharp and crisp, looks good on movies, Netflix and regular TV, I love sports and the game I watched looked great.

After doing research, we finally decided on the hisense 50 inch smart tv. Got the tv home and were overall pleased at the ease of set up and the picture. After going through the apps and searching, we realized the tv didn't have Amazon and couldn't find a way to download it, we had decided to return it because of that....but we had decided to watch a show on it to see the quality, this tv buffered about every 5 min. Very frustrating and a big disappointment after reading such good reviews

This Hisense 50" is beautiful. Clean, crisp 1080 resolution. Remote control is awesome and easy to navigate. The TV itself is lightweight and huge! An excellent purcahse. I had never heard of Hisense prior to buying it, but it stands up with the best of the popular brands! Highly recommended!
