Best picture, features and options for the money.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have had this TV for 3 weeks now. Simply awesome. The picture quality is superb. The sound quality is tremendous. This TV gets very loud. For the price point, you get all of the features of higher end TV's. 4-HDMI ports 2 USB Ports LAN Port Bluetooth. 240 Motion Full 4K with HDR formats This is an Android TV. Meaning it is basically a very large Tablet. It supports a wide variety of Apps. It is Google Home/Assistant and Alexa Compatible and can be controlled by, or control your smart devices. Streaming content is flawless on WiFi. I was originally planning on direct connecting the LAN for higher speeds, however, I have not had any issues with Streaming on WiFi, so, there is no need to connect to the LAN. Picture quality is great. It is ULED technology (similar to QLED). Proprietary way of controlling the back-lighting to improve contrast and color. Audio (simulated surround sound), is very convincing. The TV boasts 15 Watts of Audio. I believe it. It is very loud, we often have it set very low. Using the ARC channel to control my Home Theater System works flawlessly. The audio and surround come through clearly. Automatically turns on/off. The only negative comments I can make are regarding the Automatic Picture/Audio Enhancements. When watching specific programming, the TV will automatically "optimize" the picture and audio setting based on what the TV perceives the programming is (Movie, Series, Talk, Sports, etc). This can be annoying when watching Cable TV with commercials. The TV will change setting at each commercial and back again when it returns to the program. Contrast, brightness, and volume will all change... This only happens on a limited occurance. However, you can choose to set picture or audio to a specific "style", and it will disable this feature. We chose to live with it, as it only occasionally occurs. Best TV you can buy in this price point!

Disappointed in quality.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We are very disappointed in this television. When using our DVR to record our favorite shows and then watching them back the picture speed jumps and is very difficult to watch.

Inexpensive Adroid TV with a few flaws
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far this is my third HiSense TV and second 55". I had the 55 H8C prior so I'm familiar with HiSense's "bang for the buck." This unit, or perhaps just mine, has taking a little of the bang out. When I started it up. I saw a few splotchy spots on the screen. I though "why'd they use a dirty background grey image?" After set up was complete I ran some more tests and my screen has blotches all through the center, dark corners and slight yellow tint on the right side. The center blotches look like a checker pattern, almost like some LEDs just aren't as bright as others. Now keep in mind, these are only visible if you're web browsing or looking at white or grey back grounds - I have a HPTC, PS4, and Shield TV hooked up to it. During normal viewing you really don't see the imperfections, but still this wasn't what I'd have expected from HiSense. Just like every other TV on the market they bump the brightness to blind you and turn on that motion smoothing (why won't someone with brains kill this "feature'!) Turned down sharpness, turned down noise reduction, basically had to turn off all the post processing to get a decent picture. I only did a simple calibration but once I go it set the darks are deep and the bright where I want them. The TV has local dimming and doing a test it shows 7 zones horizontally, and 8 zones vertically. I believe I had turned off local dimming on my old unit and I think I'll be doing the same on this one. While it's kinda nice I just can't stand how slow it activates and deactivates. Maybe I can get used to it so I'll keep it on for now. If you turn on local dimming you can't manually adjust your back-light. You have to disable dimming, change the back-light, and then turn dimming back on. You can use the ambient sensor and it does work well so far. More testing will have to be done to see if I want to disable that too . The H8F comes with Android TV built in. This is a big plus for those you love Android TV - I've used it since the old NSZ-GS7. I'm still mainly HTPC, but as for streaming devices I keep going back to Android (I've tried all the others and have a dozen streaming devices in my closet). The version installed is 8.0.0 (Oreo) so it's relatively up-to-date. Onboard storage is pretty flimsy at only 3.5GB usable. You can put a thumb drive in and use it as adoptable storage (as system storage for apps) so it's easily solved. There is a USB 3.0 port in the back and the thumb drive works fine in it. You can also play videos and view photos via the USB ports (one 2.0 port in the back also). Other specs for the Smart side are 1.5GB RAM and a Mediatek MT5886 processor. Overall the system seem speedy enough, but gaming may not great as long as you stay with lower intensity games - and put in a thumb drive. 3D mark test pulled 3634 with avg 14FPS. The remote is Bluetooth so you don't need line of sight to control the TV. I didn't see this mentioned in the instruction book, but it might be in there. Pushing the Google assistant button guides you through paring the remote. It nice not need LoS, especially during winter when you don't wanna get out of the covers. You can also pair BT headphones and speakers if you need to. There is a headphone jack in the back of the TV, but if you can get lag free BT then go for that option instead. Using the remote and switching to the Shield TV as my input automatically controlled the Shield. No special set up needed. One problem I had/have is that when I turn off everything and switch the receiver and TV back on and switch inputs it kinda goes crazy for a few minutes. It cycles through inputs, switches randomly (or not pattern I've yet seen), until finally it stops. I suppose it's doing an inventory of connected devices before it settles. Big pain to have to go through this each time I start up and hoping a firmware fixes this. Don't know if it's Google's or HiSense's issue. One feature I though that all TV makes should include that HiSense included in this TV is multi-position feet. There are two spots you can choose to install the feet. Outer feet are ~44" apart tip to tip, inner position is 36" apart. Great feature for those who don't mount the TV's. Other than the blotchy screen I'm pretty happy with the H8F. I'd return it for another one if I could hoping to get a clean screen, but it's good enough for me. I'm not an avid TV watcher and only get about 10hrs of watching a week so I don't want to spend thousands on a "nicer" TV. I'm satisfied enough with HiSense that if I had to buy a new TV I'd get another. The other two I have are great so it's possible I just got the black sheep this time, lol. Gonna get 1hr of TV watching before I go to bed. Wish I could have given 4 or 5 stars, but unless others chime in without the same screen issues it's best I can give.

DO NOT BUY!!!!!
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I waited this long to see how long these TV’s would last. The saying you get what you pay for applies to Hisense. They don’t last, I bought 3 and they have all done the same thing. First they freeze, then they restarts daily, then no picture at all and the apps all glitch. I do not recommend this brand. Save your money and buy something worthwhile.

Worst TV ever, do NOT buy!
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this due to advice from rtings. Do NOT buy it though. They have been out to "fix it" 3 times now and it still doesn't work right and screw any power saving features. It will simply stay on all day if you hook a roku or anything up to it. Want to know why I have a roku instead of using the android tv? Well... their built in android tv locks up constantly. I wish that I could get my money back on this HORRIBLE product.

Stay away
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The only positive of this TV was it's price, and you learn why it is cheaper when you try to use it. Not a month in, and I have to get parts replaced because the audio would cut off and only a reset would fix it. There are no hard buttons on the TV so its only unplug if the TV becomes unresponsive to the remote (this happens often) I find myself having to reset or power cycle the TV more than I thought I would have to.

Very Nice TV
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second Hisense TV, this one is my favorite of the two. I also have another brand smart TV which I really liked until I got this one. I am not a tech expert so I am just going to discuss what I like about this TV. First off set up was easy, as it should be. Now this is my first Android Smart TV and I have to say I am impressed. I was able to easily get all my content viewable just by signing into my Google account. All my saved movies and TV shows, and all my Google Play music was there and instantly accessible. After getting this portion set up I plugged in my Fire Stick and connected my Direct TV box and again I was instantly watching that content. Next, the picture and sound. The picture is really nice, deep rich colors and no issues with watching sports, smooth streaming. The sound is good but not great. I tried several of the available settings and was able to get pretty decent sound but not the deep bass and clear high tones. But this was easily remidied with an external speaker and the sound was awesome. I would highly recommend this TV for anyone who is looking for a big screen at an affordable price. I am very happy with this unit.

Dumb TV
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the worst “smart” tv compared to a Sony or Samsung. Don’t waste your money and spend more and get something that responds when you push a button or starts up in a reasonable time.. it’s a waste of money and wish I never spent $400 as it should be called a dumb and slow TV. I know hisense makes some good TVs but not this one

Started showing bad signs in 2 weeks
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We were so excited about this TV but after 2 weeks, the volume button stopped working. We had to keep turning the Tv on and off to get it to work again. I did a little research and found that a lot of people were having problems with the volume. Especially within the Netflix app. We had to return it.

Nice TV but...
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had this TV for a year and it was working wonderfully. One week past the warranty it stopped connecting to the internet. The Geek squad came out and ordered a part. Needless to say that was June and it is October and nothing has come in the mail. Therefore, the TV is still working fine but no apps can be used.

Be aware
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had to return it. Specs did not match the one that was displayed... This particular store does that. If you are not aware, you can be scammed. Happened twice... My son bought a laptop (Macbook). They give us an okder version, a month after I bought this tv. Android OS Is AWEFUL!!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The TV is great in terms of screen quality. But the Android OS is buggy as can be. I’m constantly unplugging the TV to force it to reboot. I understand this TV is also available with Roku. I’d definitely recommend this option over Android. What’s mess.
