The Hisense 55” 4K TV is working great in my living room where I have it connected via HDMI to a PlayStation, a Flex Box, a Nintendo Switch, and a soundbar (HDMI ARC). I watch TV daily and was in the market to upgrade from a 50” to 55” TV screen. I’m enjoying the 4K & generally high resolution view on both Streaming & live TV. I was able to access Dolby Vision and HDR content on Disney+ and found that going through the Picture Mode settings was crucial for me to have the most enjoyable watching experience. Colors and contrast look good on Dolby Vision Dark mode. As for live TV, I had access to the HD version of standard channels which is nice. Picture Modes Dolby Vision Dark setting is my favorite because the colors are crisp, the contrast is good, and the brightness is just a little lower than usual, which is ideal for me since I prefer the brightness to be lower. The Dolby Vision IQ default setting makes things look washed out and hazy. On top of that, the blacks in the picture turn off the LEDs completely which cause strong banding on the fall off of light - very distracting and not ideal for watching animation. The general Picture settings when watching Standard or High Definition actually have a good default setting, the Energy Saving picture mode is great in my opinion. Other modes include PC/Game, Sports, Vivid, and Theater modes. Setup & Hardware This 55” TV is best handled by two people. Assembling the base/feet to the TV was quick and easy. Powering up takes a little time to get through all the smart settings, wifi setup, etc. The remote has quick buttons to access Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video, Disney+, and Tubi as well as a dedicated button to Google Assistant. The TV itself has access to more streaming services besides the ones with a dedicated button. Overall I’m pleased with this Hisense TV and will continue to use it daily. I like that it has enough inputs for all my HDMI devices. The small downsides include the Dolby Vision IQ setting which can be changed, as well as the USB port not accepting my 128GB SanDisk USB drive. The TV says the USB drive is corrupt, but it’s probably just not formatted the way the TV wants it to be - it works fine on my computer and at the end of the day, I can just plug it into my PlayStation to access the files.

Excellent picture, dark blacks and extremely bright. It's a little thicker than some tvs but doesn't really matter to me. Reviews say the sound is great for TV sound but I use a hike theater system. Great for the price especially on sale

Have the TV for over a year. I have been thoroughly impressed with the color accuracy responsiveness of the TV and the brightness game mode has been great with my PlayStation Pro blooming. Isn’t that noticeable even on extremely black scenes would highly recommend any TV in this line.

got the 55” U8H mounted in my bedroom with my Xbox Series X hooked up to it, and I’ve been really happy with it. The picture is bright and sharp, especially for a TV in this range. It handles HDR well and gets plenty bright for a dark or even a fairly lit room. I mainly use it for gaming and streaming, and it keeps up great—120Hz support, VRR, and HDMI 2.1 all work as expected. Overall, for the price, I don’t think you’ll find many TVs that match what this one offers. Great bedroom setup.

We were lucky enough to get the TV Open Box. The TV was marked as good, but there were no issues with it, and I would say it was in perfect condition. The only thing that was missing was the original box. The TV is amazing. Don't let some reviews sway your decision when they say the TV isn't bright enough. The TV is plenty bright. The color is great. The TV menu runs smooth. The TV has really good sound. It has way better sound than some of the more expensive TV's that we own. We have not experienced any issues with the TV dropping the Wi-Fi signal yet. So far we are happy with our purchase and glad we were able to save a few bucks.

This is a solid TV, really good picture, decent audio and is powered by Google TV. The remote is also decent, but there are much better options and I’d recommend just getting a small Bluetooth Google TV remote. The only major issue I have is that there is a memory leak in the OS stack and it will progressively slow down until it becomes unusable and will need to be rebooted. The TV is also a privacy nightmare sending 100k+ tracking events per day. Both of these issues can be fixed with a software update.

First time buying something other than a Sammy or a Sony and so far I am very pleased. I had to return my first purchase because the back light went out. It happened on day 13 so I just made the return window. So I purchased Best Buy plus and the the warranty ( which I originally purchased anyhow). But the blacks are black and the color is bright.although some times I do see a washed out look. Only when playing ps5 games every once in a while.

This is an excellent tv overall. I have a well lit room and had a hard time viewing in the day, but this TV was awesome as its very bright. I had to make some adjustments to get to the color accuracy I needed. The built in picture modes was not the best for me, but I could easily tweak the settings. The limitation of this tv is that it has very narrow viewing angle for the best view, you need to be facing straight at the same height. There was some minor backlit blead on the edges on view cinemascopic movies, but thats expected for backlit TV's

I spent several months reading online and Customer reviews of the U8 tv before buying during a recent sale. Wanted to see an in-store display but only the larger screen was available without any live-feed pictures. Also compared the U8 to the lower priced U7 before deciding to get the top of the line Hisense Mini LED. Set up was easy except the download of the latest Google TV software was a bit lengthy. Did a lot of reviews prior to delivery of my tv relative to picture settings to maximize the picture quality of the U8. Menu for adjusting was well presented and easy to follow using the remote. Remote function is great and a quality product compared to my other remotes such as Roku. My first experience with Google TV interface has been an easy one to adjust to since I also use YouTube TV. I am using a Sonos sound bar that easily interfaced with the TV. In conclusion, I am well pleased with the U8 and concur that it is one of the top TVs for the price paid. Sports programming is much improved as well as overall picture quality for local news programs. Have watched limited movies being streamed and have noticed big improvements even though I am not paying for UHD from my Netflix account.

The picture is Great. Did not change factory preset settings. Color and Contrast is very good. I was surprised how good the sound is. The Remote is well made (heavier than most) The remote volume is a little touchy and The angle viewing is maybe not as good as some others, but I would buy another Hisense U8N again. I would definitely recommend..

Amazing TV, was using my old 1080p 55" from 2014 and was in dire need of an upgrade. The difference is like night and day, the colors pop so much and the refresh rate is amazing for gaming and movies/shows. The price was affordable too, glad I caught it on sale on the Best Buy site!

Amazing TV, Hisense has really stepped up their game WOW!!! Its certainly close to OLED, not quite but for the price you cannot go wrong. I am actually using the TV for my patio/backyard, due to the incredible brightness, with an apple TV!!.. The picture and brightness is incredible. Buy it dont wait or think about it!!

Picture is great if you can stay pretty much straight on to the screen. A viewing angle greater than about 30 degrees washes the colors out of the screen. It works for me, but take it into consideration. The screen is almost too bright, I had to dim it. Overall the TV is great. Sound quality is overall good.

Hisense may have a liftime customer if this tv lasts. It has literally everything you could want for AAA pc gaming: Auto low latency mode, 144 hrz ( I had to go to redit to find the setting to enable this mode ), Variable refresh rate with AMD freesync, 3000 nit peak brightness and amazing colors with its quantom dots.

I needed a TV bright enough for our covered outdoor patio, especially in the afternoon when the sun hits hardest. We had a TCL 5 Series in the bedroom, but once we moved it outside, it just wasn't cutting it in terms of visibility. After doing some research on NIT ratings, I was surprised to find how highly this particular model was rated—especially considering the price at Best Buy. We decided to give the 55" version a shot, expecting it to be “just okay.” Wow, were we wrong ... like really wrong, but in the best way possible. Once installed, the whole family was blown away. This thing is bright at all times of day and looks absolutely stunning on the patio. It’s the perfect patio TV!

Wonderful picture quality, along with sound that really surprised. I had a Bose soundbar that I was using with my previous tv, and that is no longer needed! First time using the Google OS on a tv and it works very smoothly. TV has been great for gaming. The 120hz looks beautiful in the games that support it. Overall very happy with the purchase!
