    Awesome Tv Worth the Price

This Tv blew my mind! First the tv is greatly priced for a ULED, it gets very bright and the colors are excellent. Second the tv gets very loud as well trust me. Third it’s very smooth on Gaming and HDR movies and shows. Even does exceptionally well on old tv shows like the original twilight zone. The tvs interface is very smooth and easy to use. If your a apple user it doesn’t have any airplay compatibility but if you use apple plus or have movies you’ve downloaded on your Apple TV account you have the ability to watch it once you’ve downloaded the app on the tv.

I've owned the Hisense 55U8G for about a year and a half now and while the picture quality and features are nice I can't recommend this TV to others due to an inconsistent issue where it will turn off unexpectedly. It's a solid TV and for the price at the time of purchase it seemed like one of the best options for devices that had an HDMI 2.1 port so I could play games at 4K and 120hz. The picture quality is pretty good. It can't match an OLED TV in the black levels but it is much brighter and the colors look nice. Sound quality was okay but I did end up getting a sound bar for it to get some of the bass that the TV lacks. I mainly use it for streaming with the integrated apps and with my Xbox Series X and it works well... mostly. I would give it a 4 or 4.5 except for one issue. It will randomly turn off or restart occasionally. It happens about once a week on average but is very frustrating. It has happened while streaming from the onboard apps and while playing games through the HDMI 2.1 input. Sometimes it will go a month without doing it and other times it will happen twice during a movie. Usually after it happens I'll have to unplug it and wait a minute for it to work correctly. The firmware is up to date and I've tried plugging it into different outlets and surge protectors without any change. It's possible I just got a bad TV though. If I could go back I would spend a couple more hundred to buy a TV from a more popular brand.

I purchased this Hisense U8G 55 ich TV. This is not promotional review. I could write an extensive review of this Hisense U8G 55 inch TV, but it has been reviewed extensively by every major electronics review site. Just do a google for the TV and believe the reviews because it is as good as they say it is. Its only short coming is the same as any VA panel TV and that is that it has a limited off center viewing angle before image degradation sets in. It is just great out of the box. Best TV I have ever owned for being properly calibrated on the standard setting. If 7 to $800.00 is your budget max and a wide viewing angle isn't necessary, you just won't find a better TV. And in testing it out performed a lot of much higher priced TVs. Great black levels, great handling of shadow detail, great brightness, processes Dolby Vision, HDR 10, HDR 10+. Decodes DTS X and Dolby Atmos audio. Has audio pass through if you have an audio receiver or soundbar. Supports 120 Hz and variable frame rate. It has a nice stand. Only a 28 inch span on the 55 inch and a 36 inch on the 65 inch, so it will fit on smaller tables. The stand is good looking and sturdy. It doesn't swivel or tilt. If you wall mount it, you will want a tilting bracket so you will be looking perpendicularly at the screen. Just a great TV at any price.

I have had the TV for nearly a year now. It is bright enough to overcome ambient light, has good viewing angles, and I'm satisfied with the set speakers. The streaming apps can be a bit buggy. Hulu doesn't play nice with it's cache... As previously viewed shows may start at the wrong time stamp. This happens to various degrees with other apps as well. I kind of wonder if I would enjoy Google TV more instead of the android TV interface, but I don't mind it other than the cache issues. The TV is nice, thin bezels, voice activation that can physically toggle on or off for privacy, good refresh, and good resolution. I recommend this over any roku versions.

Good TV for watching HDR. Deep colors, bright specular highlight, blacks are slightly lifted but I dont notice at night as I use bias lighting behind the TV. Im not a fan of the Dobly vision IQ setting because it turns on motion smoothing and locks it from being changed so i use dobly vision custom or dark. Gaming with PS5 is great I have noticed ghosting on rare occasions but not enough to keep from playing. Overall its a good TV with lots of features for a decent price.

Honestly can't beat the picture and functionality at this price point. Yes an OLED TV will be even prettier but you wouldn't care unless you had it side by side. This TV can put out a great quality image. Be patient figuring out the settings that work for you. The default picture settings don't necessarily represent the best it can do. Also gaming on my Xbox Series S is buttery smooth. I don't notice ghosting that others talk about on here. Might be a unit by unit issue. Pros: -Outstanding image at this price. Great HDR, great contrast, and great at not showing reflections in a bright room! -Excellent, buttery smooth gaming experience. -Bluetooth connection!! I love being able to hook up my bluetooth earbuds to listen while my partner is still sleeping. -This can get very bright, allowing you to take advantage of the great quality image no matter how bright the room is. Cons: -Watching sports so far has been hit or miss with image quality. ESPN app has some studder/jutter BUT ESPN app through my Xbox works great, so I think this is simply a poor connection between ESPN and Android TV. Neutral: -Android TV system. IMO it is not as user friendly and easy to navigate as Roku TV, but it is much better than some other brands' operating systems (looking at you Samsung TV). It'll have the apps you're looking for though. Good enough. Overall: You can probably find a more expensive TV that does better in each category than this tv, but at under $1000 this is the best TV you can buy in my opinion. Image quality and HDR is on par with TVs about $1000. Navigation is fine. Gaming is excellent. Sports are ok. The End!

Not too bright for sensitive eyes

Since Fall 2020 I bought a few TVs, including OLEDs, but then I returned them for different reasons because I wasn't fully satisfied (I'm very picky, and also I can't justify spending $1000+ for a TV). Once the new 2021 TVs started to come out, the U8G got my attention. However, one feature that is marketed is the brightness. I am particularly sensitive to bright light, so I was worried it would be too bright and I would need to return it. I almost settled for the U6G because of the fact it is so cheap but still has good reviews. But then the U8G went on sale ($699) and I just had to snatched one and try it out. I'm so glad that I did and I'm 100% satisfied. The brightness is not bad at all and does not hurt my eyes like I was worried it would, it's just right. The picture is stunning, and it has adjustable settings for different content. The sound and bass are loud enough that I don't need a soundbar (but I'm still going to get one soon)...I keep the sound at level 25 or below depending how late it is because in an apartment with thin walls, the neighbors complain, but its still loud and more than enough sound and very clear. Also, I'm now spending more time playing games on my XSX now that I have HDMI 2.1 and it is so much fun. This is definitely a great investment for a quality TV that will last me several years (hopefully). I don't like the legs but it's not really a big issue. I stream all of my content and the picture is beautiful. I prefer the Android TV/ Google platform over Roku and Amazon and WebOS. Its been very hard for me to make a decision on a TV bc I've learned that no TV is completely perfect, even the most expensive ones. Also when you're in the store comparing TVs side by side makes it harder, but in your own home it's a different experience. After doing so much research I think I chose the best 55" TV under $1000 given all of its amazing features. You won't be disappointed! (unless you're comparing to OLED, but this is still very good quality for the price and features) without spending thousands).

Great TV for the average customer but if you're looking for a TV to use with your Xbox Serier X or PS5, this is the TV for you! This TV is great with the Xbox Series X with features of 120 hz, 4K, HDR, freesync and HDMI 2.1. This TV has great features at a great price and without breaking your bank unlike other brands.

With the price of this tv, you are definitely getting way more than other $1000 TVs. I bought this from the perspective that I would use it to play video games on it. Me and my family have never bought a Hisense before this and this absolutely dominates other companies Tv's in 2021. With my experience of using the TV with the PS5, I haven't encountered many issues. Adjusting a few settings on the tv makes the picture quality stand out even more and I enjoy having the 4K 120 Hz features and VRR. The only issue I saw was some ghosting issues (occurring in darker areas and backgrounds in games) but Hisense is aware of this issue and will hopefully patch it in a future update. Other than that, I am very satisfied with the product as it comes with all the features that I would want as a gamer.

Pretty colors next gen gaming os phenomenal. Not goona lie i almost returned this set. I returned a lg nano becuase it was soooo dark even hdr and dolby and got this instead after doing a ton of research. Out of the box everyrhing was great except motion it was so unbearably bad. Like i couldnt watch tv. I scoured thw internet looking for a fix and only a handful of people were having this issue or at least reporting it so i decided to call hisense. They sent me a manual firmware update i had to put on my tv 2 days later and ever since then everything is peachy. Cant beat it for the price glad i called hisense

I honestly wasn't sure what to expect and have been pleasantly surprised with the build quality and performance. This is a secondary TV that is used only for gaming and light movie use. The tv is equipped with two - HDMI 2.1 one of which is E-ARC supported. I use that port to connect my Xbox Series X and so far it's performing rather well. You have to turn on the gaming setup and enable the variable refresh rate to fully utilize the 120hz at 4k. So far my movie viewing has produced deep blacks and vivid colors, but I'm no expert at evaluating color gamuts, so take it with a grain of salt. Speakers are less than stellar, but that is to be expected. All in all, it's a good TV. I'm very happy with my purchase! Ymmv. TLDR: Good TV for the price, 2-HDMI 2.1(1 w/ARC support). Enable Variable refresh rate to use Xbox|X w/ 120Hz@4k.

Great tv, super bright and wonderful colors. Some settings needed to be ajusted to get a good picture though (Brightness in SDR content should be no more then 47, and no more then 49 in HDR content) also make sure to disable sharpening and both noise reduction settings. Turn off motion enhancement and scene detection too. Tv struggles with dark scenes a bit, and banding in dark scenes can be bad. But the local dimming is fantastic. 120hz 4k HDR works great on my rtx 3080, but I can't enable gsync or else the screen will flicker. But I get no ghosting and games look fantastic. For the price the tv us a 5/5.

I bought this TV as a replacement for an 11 year old Toshiba. I use the TV mainly for gaming, and I'm glad to say it does gaming very well. I have not had any problems, except for a white ghosting that seems to be prominent in these TVs. It doesn't bother me much at all, but Hisense is working on a fix apparently. This TV gets VERY bright which is great, and everything just feels so buttery smooth. I only have great things to say, and would definitely recommend buying if you are looking for a great 55 inch TV.

I read and watched a lot of reviews on this tv but I was still hesitant about purchasing it because I was not familiar with this brand. After having owned it for a few weeks now all I can say is wow. This tv has really impressed me, it is better than I ever hoped it would be. It has worked perfectly with my Xbox series X providing 4k at 120fps and I really enjoy watching regular tv on it also. The color was almost perfect straight out of the box. The black levels almost match Oled televisions but because it has a better screen brightness level in some ways to me it is better than an Oled tv. I ended up being so impressed by this tv I actually bought another one for my bedroom. For the cost it can't be beat.

i recently purchased an oled 65 for my living room, and i wanted to upgrade my bedroom tv from my trusty vizio 50 3d 1080p. i just didnt want to spend so much. i found this tv in open box. and i have to say, it is amazing! You have to change the hdmi inputs to enhanced, which is kind of tricky to figure out, but once i did that, the tv really went into the WOW factor!. its a great tv, and even better in open box, if you find it...get it. my C1 barely beats this TV, truely amazing at such a low price! i picked this over the samsung q90a because i really wanted Dolby vision and Atmos, and it had 2 hdmi 2.1 inputs! You will mot be disappointed, and wont be wondering if you could have pivked a better tv at ANY price!

This is a great TV that has excellent picture quality with just a few picture settings changed. Movies and video games that play in HDR look amazing. The sound quality isn’t horrible but a good sound bar would pair really well with this TV. One thing I noticed is that movies would stutter occasionally (I fixed this with the motion enhancement settings). There’s also some noticeable blooming around letters if the screen is black, but it’s not a deal breaker.
