Let me start by saying that the tv is great for movies 50/50 for gaming reason why ghosting and motion situation. But hisense is aware of this and the other thing that is a deal breaker is if you want to avoid SOME ghosting you have to switch ports 4k 60hz. I just want a tv that i can plug into 4k 120hz and play any type of games that support 60-120hz thats one of the reason why i bought this tv for the 2.1 hdmi port so its kind of pointless if you cannot use it and when you do use it the 4k 120hz port it has some ghosting. Hisense has a way of fixing it by getting out of game mode and selecting different picture mode and selecting smooth to many steps to get a good picture i just want a tv to plug and play. So if hisense doesn't fix these issues tv is going back. Other then that its a good tv colors, brightness, contrast and blooming is good. This is my first hisense product and it might be my last if issues do not get fix fingers crossed.

Beautiful picture compared to many if not most. Real life like motion and SHARPNESS with Hdr Content. Sdr.... Is different as it seemed blurry and had slight image ghosting Pre and Post update. They might have fixed it though my unit as well as some others were affected. Others stated online that they did not see a problem though it was very noticeable. Also the Ui left alot to be desired tho that is personal opinion. TV shined in all other areas panel is beautiful, feet are cool, sound is great, crazy brightness, packaging well thought out.

This TV if getting the job done! I’m liking the VRR when I’m gaming on my PC. And the picture quality is a big step up from the entry & mid-level 4K TVs I have. However, there are a few things that are a big annoyance: 1. Finding a way to disable “Ok, Google” without those bright LEDS at the bottom of the tv. I’m not a fan of a device constantly listening to me. 2. Sound delays when using a soundbar (granted it’s a VIZIO soundboard, but still). Only workaround is using PCM (upset I’m missing out on Dolby so far). 3. Distorted PC sounds. If anyone is using a Windows PC and their sound is messed up, open up Sound>Playback>Properties>Advanced and change the Default Format to 44100 Hz (CD Quality). Fixed! 4. Going to Reddit forums to try and figure out other workarounds like these. You’re not alone! Aside from these big gripes, the quality for the price is amazing! I luckily haven’t had any ghosting issues due to listening to other gamers who have this TV. If you can manage to work around these, you’ll be saving hundreds of dollars.

The tv is every bit like what the professional reviewers describe. The picture is very bright, which was why I chose the tv for my living room that has a lot of sunlight. The tv performed exceptionally well straight out of the box. Even dark scenes in a sunny room looked great. Minimal reflection. Motion was excellent. Colors vibrant. Inky blacks. TV’s sound was fine for me. But those wanting a booming bass should buy a sound bar. But I had problems with the tv. When you turn off Google voice activation, orange lights turn on and you can’t turn them off. The tv would reboot for no reason. Not once, but several times a day. So watching live tv was a pain. The picture would freeze and the remote wouldn’t turn off the tv. One would have to unplug and replug and then the tv would reboot. Then I heard a loud high pitched noise coming from the tv. The remote wouldn’t turn it off so had to unplug the tv. Plug back in, it reboots. Called Hisense and their tech support was laughable. They told me to unplug and plug in the tv after a few seconds. A second call, they told me to do a factory reset. These are basic things one already knows. Called Geek Squad and they tell me they can’t look at the tv if the manufacturers warranty is still current. They can do so with other brands, but not Hisense. Hisense had a promotion- try the tv for 100 days and if you don’t like it you can return no questions asked. But after the pitiful service from Hisense and then Best Buy not being allowed to fix any faults, I decided to exchange for another brand. Best Buy knows how to treat their customers. Did my exchange via chat and with no tears. BTW I’ve since seen complaints online about the rebooting issue so mine wasn’t an isolated case. Best Buy also knew about it. They said a replacement tv may not have the problem but I wasn’t ready for more hassles.

Hisense knows how to make great products and this TV here is a prime example of their work. It has great sound and the colors are very deep in my opinion. The only thing negative I’ve experienced since my purchase was ghosting when gaming using an hdmi 2.1 port but they’ve fixed that for the most part (still slight ghosting when in dark environments). In my opinion there is no better TV at this price range and would recommend it to anyone

4K blu-ray viewing on this is awesome. Colors, contrast, shadow detail, whatever you are looking for it it does it. Streaming quality varies with the platform used. I'm disappointed with Disney+ viewing, especially The Mandalorian. Their filming is SO grainy. If motion isn't adjusted properly you can get macro-blocking in some of the darker areas along with the grain. Noise settings do not help. HBOmax is no problem as is Amazon Prime. I use Theatre Day for a lot of viewing with Temp low or mid-low to preference. For 4k blu-ray movies Film Maker mode with temp low, auto contrast on low, motion custom, setting of 5 on judder and 2 for blur smooth things out enough for my taste. While many reviews mention the narrow horizontal viewing angle, you need to pay attention to the vertical angle as well. If you are viewing at a distance of say 8' - 9', the screen needs to be angled properly to the viewing position or it will wash out and colors will not be accurate.

Probably the best picture you’re going to get out of an LCD set with none of the worries of longevity and burn-in that come with OLED. Amazing brightness in HDR. Although go for 65 inch version if you want even more contrast, as that version of the TV has even more local dimming zones, but I’m very happy with the 55”. Working great with my PS5, no issues with ghosting, as that seems to have been fixed with a firmware update. The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is that occasionally you will see color banding with some content (although I believe this has more to do with the bit-rate/quality of the content than the TV itself). There may be setting I haven’t utilized that can mitigate this better. My other issue with this TV is that it often loses an established eARC connection after being turned off, and the only fix I’ve found is to unplug and replug in the HDMI chord in the eARC port. I’m still working through settings so this may be a problem with my receiver and not the TV.

If I didn’t know any better I would assume it was an OLED, the picture is that good. Colors are saturated, blacks are deep, and it gets crazy bright as well. The Best Buy associate I talked to totally upsold me, but when I saw this TV next to the the U7G I was going to buy, I knew spending the extra hundred bucks would be worth it. Just buy it. You’ll be glad you did.

This Tv is all of what I expected it to be! Great Tv for gaming has 120hz 4K for the new consoles which is one of the reasons why I got it! I didn’t want to spend 2000 on a tv when this one has same specs. Overall I would buy this tv again it’s a amazing tv and I couldn’t ask for more for the money!

Love this TV. Looks great. High quality picture quality for a low price. Not used to android tv, but, after the update, easy to use. Haven’t noticed ghosting issues while gaming as other people have. Also, no problems gaming at 4K 120hz. Maybe there was a recent update,

This TV is amazing. Easily worth double the price for all of the features it includes. 120hz native, VRR for gaming… this TV has everything! The brightness on this TV has to be seen to be believed. The only drawback is the viewing angles, but that is not an issue where I have it set up.

I bought this TV due to several YouTube reviews as well as online comments discussing how well it handled gaming. While our 4 year old Samsung handled the 4k from my Series X well I wanted to step up to 120hz without breaking the bank. Enter the 55" UG8. With free sync available on the TV as well as VRR (variable refresh rate) on the Series X you get nearly flawless 120hz and when the frame rate does dip you rarely notice. The picture is fantastic and the HDR functions well. If I had to pick a negative it would be the speakers. It certainly doesn't sound 'bad', and I'd say it is no worse than the Samsung it replaced, but the sound quality doesn't rival the picture quality (which, again, is fantastic.) Yes, you can get a better TV with a slightly better picture, but the cost difference doesn't justify the price difference in my opinion. The return on investment for this TV just makes it too good to pass up.

Best tv I have right now for gaming. I had lg nanocell 85 series that was a ok for. Picture quality was not that great. I also have a lg c8 oled. I can tell you the picture and the color of the hisense u8g is just as good or a little better. There features on the hisense u8g kill the lg tvs and the smoothness is amazing. I play 4k 120hz on my Xbox series x and picture and smoothness is amazing. I also put my pc and played rocket league 1080p 120hz and no tearing at all. Plays super smooth. I.cant believe i'm saying this but i definitely recommended hisense u8g to anyone who wants amazing picture, color, brightness and smoothness.

Just buy it ! I researched and researched , compared everything with all brands and decided on the 55" U8G and am sooo glad and happy I did. I love the centered and study stand and general look, the picture is perfect , details and color are unreal . Reds are red greens are green, I did turn the green down a bit and now is perfect. No red shadows, ghosting or blurry subtitles and all those issues some people reported in earlier reviews must have been corrected . I was good to go out of the box and for the sale price 0f 699,99 I could not be happier, The clarity is just unreal and at time some shows look 3D. I've always had Sonys and Lg but for this price they have nothing, I also needed a TV for a bright room with lights at night and that was one reason I changed Tv's . This screen on the U8G solved that issue and the sounds great also. Love it

This is an awesome price for this TV! I was about to pull the trigger on the U7G instead, but the price for the U8G was just too good to pass on. It is AMAZING coming from a ~5 year old 4K 43" TV. The Hisense completely blows my old TV out of the water. No issues with getting my soundbar to work, or my gaming consoles. With everything connected properly, I can simply hit the power button on my PS5 controller and it turns on the console, the TV, and the soundbar, all with that one button press. Very convenient and it all works flawlessly. The ONLY thing I don't particularly care for is the menu system. I'm very tech-savvy and never need to read the manual for anything, but I had to do a quick Google search on how to find the update page. That's more an Android TV issue than a Hisense issue, though.

My Samsung 4k tv gave out after 5 years. I started looking for a replacement and found this tv. The blacks are really good and the brightness is great. So far I love it. Dolby vision, Dolby Atmos and two 2.1 HDMI connections. That's good enough for me.
