After many days of watching many reviews I bought this TV in 65" size and if you're on the fence about it heres some things to know, the picture quality is amazing and sometimes you'll swear it looks like an OLED TV when watching high quality content, deep blacks and colors that pop and the Speakers are amazing with rich sound and even good bass; If paired to the proper settings the brightness can be very in your face no matter day or night. On a technical level this TV is a beast. Every feature you can possibly think of like hands free voice control (2) 4K 120hz/4K 144Hz [gaming PC] HDMI 2.1 ports and (2) 4K 60Hz the newest ATS 3.0 tuner Dolby atmos, Dolby Vision, HDR 10, HDR10+ VRR, AMD free sync, IMAX enhanced and the list goes on. Now with all the good, here is the bad in my experience the Google TV OS can become laggy at time especially when you open up multiple apps and it can become a little unresponsive which is very annoying, to fix this simply use an external streaming box, the TV UI interface and menu is very fast and snappy it's just the apps aren't perfect my wife and I use an Apple TV 4K and it's a game changer compared to the built in TV OS apps and there are no adds; My only other gripe with the TV is the Remote control; it feels very cheap and they should have put alot more effort into making out of metal or something the cheap plastic just leaves alot to be desired amd even though its "back lit" it might as well not because its super dim and doesn't stay on very long and doesn't have a lift to wake feature; it very much just feels like its a glow in the dark remote, pretty disappointing to say the least. Other than that this a phenomenal TV and if you can get over those few problems I can strongly suggest this TV to anyone wanting an upgrade from a basic 4K or older TV the Value is unmatched and I would never have guessed id love a Hisense TV so much

Review of the Hisense 65‑inch U8 Series Mini‑LED

I’ve been living with the Hisense 65U8K for a few months now, and I still catch myself smiling when I turn it on. Before buying, I wasn’t sure if all the hype around mini‑LED and quantum dots was just marketing fluff. Now I get it. The combination of a bright mini‑LED backlight, full‑array local dimming and that quantum‑dot layer means blacks stay inky and colours stay punchy even with the curtains open. Hisense claims the panel hits 80 % of the Rec.2020 colour space, and my eyes believe it – nature documentaries look like they’re coming to life in my living room.
I was also sceptical about the “1500‑nit peak brightness” sticker. Turns out it wasn’t an exaggeration. I’ve never had to squint to see dark scenes in daytime, which wasn’t the case with my old set. Setting it up was painless. I chose the wider metal‑leg stance, which gives it a sturdy, modern look, but it can also mount flush on the wall if that’s your style. There are four HDMI ports – two of them HDMI 2.1 – plus USB, optical audio and even an ATSC 3.0 tuner, so I feel like it’s future‑proof.
Gaming has been a joy. My Xbox Series X runs smooth at 4K/120 Hz, and the Game Bar makes it easy to tweak settings mid‑match. While hardcore gamers might find slightly lower input lag elsewhere, the Game Mode Pro is still snappy enough that I don’t notice any lag.
As for the smart features, Google TV has grown on me. It pulls in suggestions from all my apps and is easy to navigate. Occasionally switching between apps takes an extra second, but it’s not a deal‑breaker. The Bluetooth remote has voice search and dedicated buttons for my most‑used services, which I appreciate. The built‑in 2.1.2 speaker system surprised me – dialogue is clear and there’s a bit of verticality with Dolby Atmos. I eventually added a soundbar for more oomph, but the TV’s speakers are decent on their own.
No TV is perfect. Colours start to wash out if you’re watching from a wide angle, and straight out of the box the picture is on the vivid side. A quick switch to Filmmaker Mode and some backlight adjustments solved that for me. And whatever you do, leave the local dimming on – turning it off introduces distracting grey bars during movies.
Honestly, for the price, this set feels like a steal. Between the brilliant HDR support (HDR10/10+, Dolby Vision and HLG), 144‑Hz gaming readiness, slick Google interface and a two‑year warranty, it’s hard to find fault. If you’re looking for a TV that makes both movies and games look fantastic without obliterating your budget, the U8K is an easy recommendation.

Great alternative to OLED. I was deciding on whether or not I was going to purchase an OLED vs. this Mini-LED TV this year and I'm not disappointed. The picture and quality have been pleasantly surprising the brightness is perfect for lit rooms, Note that this TV performs better than the U6 and U7 versions.
We paired this TV with the Hisense Dolby Atmos 5.1 speakers and we've loved the experience. We tested the picture and sound by watching Top Gun: Maverick and it was a pretty great experience. I also have a 120 inch theater projector w/5.1 setup down in my theater and this has become a good alternative when we don't want to head downstairs. I can't say how good the sound quality of the native TV speakers are... but I'm sure they're okay.
I would recommend this Mini-LED to anyone. The TV is quite a bit thicker than and OLED but the blacks and colors are on par with an OLED. It's definitely not as contrasty as an OLED but to the general customer who's looking for a solid TV but doesn't want to spend double or triple the price for an OLED, if you go with this Hisense TV I know that you'll be happy with your purchase and it will not disappoint.

I recently purchased the Hisense 4k TV and I have been thoroughly impressed with its performance and overall quality. The first thing that caught my attention was the sleek and modern design of the TV. The bezel-less screen and slim frame give it a premium look, making it a great addition to my living room.
The picture quality of this TV is outstanding. The 4k resolution provides crystal clear and sharp images, making every scene come to life. The colors are vibrant and the contrast ratio is impressive, giving a realistic viewing experience. Even when watching fast-paced action scenes, the motion handling is smooth and there is no blurring or lagging.
Another great feature of this TV is the built-in smart functionality. It has a user-friendly interface and is powered by Android, allowing me to easily access all my favorite streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, and YouTube. The remote control also has dedicated buttons for popular streaming platforms, making it convenient to switch between them.
The sound quality of the Hisense 4k TV is also worth mentioning. It has built-in speakers that deliver clear and immersive sound. While it may not compete with a dedicated sound system, it is more than enough for everyday viewing.
Setting up the TV was a breeze and it comes with a variety of ports, including HDMI, USB, and Ethernet, allowing me to connect all my devices. The remote control is also easy to use and has all the necessary buttons for controlling the TV.
Overall, I am highly satisfied with my purchase of the Hisense 4k TV. It offers great value for its price and has exceeded my expectations in terms of picture quality, smart features, and design. I would highly recommend this TV to anyone in the market for a 4k TV.

I love this tv. The clarity and colour is amazing and the brightness is sometimes too bright! But you can of course turn it down. HDR movies look amazing and gaming on it with an Xbox series x is just wow. My pictures don't do it justice.

I had been researching MiniLED TVs for several months and read all of the positive reviews for the Hisense ULED line up. I pulled the trigger on the top of the line 65" U8K as soon as it became available and I could not be happier with the performance! We use this TV to watch movies, sports and for gaming and it performs flawlessly in each area, With tons of local dimming zones, Dolby Vision and HDR10 support, the black levels and contrast are amazing. The bright colors really popped while watching Guardians of the Galaxy. This TV is extremely bright and has very accurate colors which is great for watching sports in my family room which gets direct sunlight. Finally, for gaming, my son said a 144Hz native refresh rate was a must. He has been extremely impressed with how smooth and responsive the TV is with PS5 and PC gaming. No matter what you throw at it, this TV exceeds my expectations. Highly recommended!!

I recently purchased the Hisense U8 from Best Buy, and I couldn't be more thrilled with my decision. This TV is absolutely amazing and has exceeded all my expectations in every way.
Firstly, the picture quality is crystal clear. The colors are vibrant, the contrast is stunning, and the details are incredibly sharp. Whether I'm watching movies, sports, or playing video games, the visual experience is top-notch and truly immersive.
What sets this TV apart from others is its audio quality. The built-in speakers, complete with a subwoofer in the back, deliver rich, full-bodied sound that enhances the viewing experience. The sound is clear, powerful, and well-balanced, making it feel like I'm in a theater right in my living room.
Being an Android TV, the Hisense U8 offers seamless access to all my favorite apps. The user interface is intuitive and user-friendly, allowing me to easily navigate and install any app I need. Streaming my favorite shows and movies has never been more convenient.
In terms of value, this TV is unbeatable. It was an amazing deal at Best Buy, offering features and performance that rival many high-end models at a fraction of the cost. I highly recommend the Hisense U8 to anyone in the market for a new TV. It’s a perfect blend of quality, performance, and affordability that is hard to find.
Overall, my experience with the Hisense U8 has been outstanding, and I can confidently say it’s one of the best purchases I've made. If you’re looking for a top-of-the-line TV without breaking the bank, this is the one to get!

Great value; Good build quality; easy-enough interface; great picture: look up the review from RTINGS and you'll see this tv is legit. Fantastic blacks for a non OLED and bright as heck too. Overall, i've really enjoyed the picture out of this TV for the past year.

Bought the 65" U8 on sale in December. Love the picture and the sound is actually really good for a tv. Xbox Series X is amazing on this tv. Gets super bright. HDR from Apple TV & Disney+ looks incredible . SDR looks good depending on the source. Watched a football game on Fox that didn't look good at all. But then a game on NBC later that night looked great. Both through a HD cable box. All in all very happy with this tv so far. Very nice tv for the price!!

Although I had never heard of the Highsense brand, I bought this particular model of TV after it was the most highly rated by both the NYT Wirecutter and Wired magazine. It does not disappoint. The picture is so bright and the resolution is so amazing that it is hard to stop watching it. I had thoroughly researched QLED vs. OLED vs. ULED and with the football season sales price, this was clearly the best deal for my brightly lit room. It was also fairly easy to set up and connect to my Direct TV box. I no longer need my Amazon firestick as all that functionality is built into the TV. The only slight hitch I had was finding the right menu to tell the TV to use a sound bar that I already owned. But I eventually found it and it also sounds amazing now too!

This TV is one of the highest rated ULED TV's and after having it for a month I would agree. We wanted a brighter TV because of my wife's vision struggles and this TV is incredibly bright. It does a great job of upscaling cable TV and Blu-ray also. The remote is simple but very useful. The menu system really allows you to dive deep into tweaking the picture in dozens of ways. And you can customize the quick menu, something I've never seen a TV allow before, to quickly get to settings you may want to frequently adjust. I honestly think this is the best TV you can buy before going up to an OLED. My only regret is that my wife wouldn't let me buy the bigger one.

Excellent picture can get very bright if needed for use in strong light, I had to turn the brightness down from my room. The sound that is built into the tv was surprisingly incredible sounding. I thought I was going to have to buy a new sound bar but no need with this TV. Great value for the money

Beautiful, clear picture. I personally love to watch it in theater picture mode but there are lots of options to choose from. My games look incredible and there is no lag whatsoever. I have since optimized my tv for game settings for my PS5 so the picture is even better than the photo. Movies and tv shows look great too. The blacks look nice and there is good contrast. I really couldn’t be happier! I wanted a nice tv without breaking the bank and this was perfect. The one thing is that the Best Buy sellers recommended a sound system since this tv isn’t known for having great sound. I haven’t noticed it too much because I am usually using my razor headphones. But I just thought I should mention it! My brother and dad and have since bought one of these TVs after seeing mine

I bought this Hisense ULED mini LED TV to replace my Sony LED from 2020. I can’t believe how good this thing is! The picture is so clear and bright. Almost more impressive, is how much contrast you get. It’s so close to OLED levels of black. The sleeper feature just might be the sound. This thing puts out immersive Dolby Atmos sound that rivals most sounds bars. It’s crazy! What an unbelievable value!

Superb picture quality and build. The capabilities of this unit at its price point is unbearable. Two weeks in and we've been turning off the lights to watch movies at night and the black levels are phenomenal and blooming is very controlled. To the average user this is almost OLED blacks but to the nit nerds it will still be an amazing comparison.
No lag for gaming, smooth motion enhancement with true 120hz native panel and 144hz gaming capable. Sports looks very good (not amazing) and I'm looking forward to the NFL season.
And the sound...5 speaks in a 2.1.2 configuration that provides excellent sound for something other than a sound bar. We turn the subwoofer off unless watching movies though.

Like the review title says, this is a darn good TV with flaws. The picture quality is absolutely stunning, even if you are not using 4K HDR content, though that is definitely where it shines the most. The high refresh rate and low latency input for gaming is also unparalleled for me. You will however find yourself rebooting the TV every 1-3 days to fix things like broken surround sound or desynced VRR. You may even find yourself needing to unplug the television to correct stuck-on backlighting. But when everything aligns, this TV is a treat given the cost. I knew I would have intermittent issues when I got this, yet don't have any regrets.

The Hisense 65 inch U8 has unbelievable color and clearly The picture is excellent and can be adjusted to one’s liking.
The basic setup is a breeze and can be completed in minutes. One item I’m still having trouble with is getting the TV to run at 120 hz refresh rate. With that one issue aside, I highly recommend the Hisense U8. I would like to hear from someone directing me on how to set the TV at 120 hz. Buy it, it’s well worth the money.

Had this TV for 1 week now and it rocks!!!! You just can't beat the quality for the money and the picture is better and clearer than my 4K Bravia in my opinion
PROS
- infinite settings to get it just right.
- Gaming settings HDR is just perfect once set up
- 144hz VRR
CONS
- takes a long time to get the picture dialed in ( do not apply settings to all inputs I did mine all separately)
That's all I can think of

This TV checks all boxes for my use. Excellent image quality, it’s bright, offers great cinematic viewing in filmmaker mode, and console gaming is wow. Works well with Apple’s AirPlay and HomeKit. Even its built-in speakers sound pretty good, especially in smaller rooms. I’ve had it only for two months, so my only concern is longevity - time will show. Highly recommended!

Great value for the amount of TV you get. Picture quality is amazing. If you haven't tried 4k HDR find some some supported content with this guy and be blown away. The built in speaker is actually pretty good on its own. Obviously a nice sound bar will only improve the experience, but if you are lacking space or extra funds, it's more than sufficient. Google TV works great. Replaced my Nvidia shield with this.
