For the size and price it is hard to justify complaining. However, with a side by side comparisons to my 7 year old tv, you can certainly tell the difference by spending double on a premium model. The black levels and contrast are no comparison. You would think a full array led would be better than a side lit with contrast, not so much. Seeing as how the backlighting is consistent/bright across the screen with no bright spots (except for a light halo around the border with the screen black), the local dimming does not seem to be doing anything. However, the colors are richer. Images are not as sharp as I was expecting, but that could be due to the image being blown up/diluted so much. What is strange is how it struggles to sharpen normal images. Yet, it totally crushes digital images, like cartoons and graphics. Cartoons are extremely sharp and bright. Even on the same screen like the news, the people will be slightly blurry whole the graphics in the corner are very sharp and bright. The matte screen is not for me. The glare makes everything very washed out. One bright spot makes the whole screen sort of glow. This is definitely a dark room tv. Also, any angle of side viewing drastically reduces the quality. So, straight on viewing is important. The tv itself is very heavy. There are nice handles in the back to help you lift it. The base feet are pretty far apart. The remote is basic, but has nice tactile buttons. The google voice is a nice feature, but seems to be a bit slower than my other tv voice controls. It is a bit annoying the device in the next room and my phone all try to respond. I recommend using the remote button. Mode wise, vivid is just a touch richer than standard, which looks more natural. Sport has boosts the refresh rate that really works well. Game kills all the processing features and reduces lag, also works pretty good. Theater is suppose to have some special codec reading and automatic setting adjustments. I didn't have a movie with that so I don't know if that works. Overall, if you want a big tv for cheap, it is pretty good for half the price. Just have low expectations. All its features work great. Just the image quality is subpar. If you have never used a premium display, you would probably love this tv. I the pictures you can see: The black details are terrible. Straight on shows color richness. Side and show fade and image degradation.

This TV is a multimedia giant. The Android OS interface is smooth, fast, and super responsive. I created TV profiles that make parental controls a breeze! The remote has a premium feel though it’s a bit larger than it needs to be. The TV frame itself doesn’t feel cheap at all, and the built-in handles make installation a breeze for two people, even with its size and weight. Image quality? Absolutely stunning. Bright scenes, sports, and cartoons all look incredibly vibrant colors pop without looking over-processed or artificial. I was using a 4K projector in this space, and even at max brightness and color settings, it doesn’t come close to the Hisense 98” QD5. The difference is so dramatic, I’ve already packed up the projector. This TV is now the centerpiece in our loft. A few out-of-the-box tweaks are necessary: There’s noticeable blooming in dark scenes when there are small bright elements on screen. Thankfully, this can be mostly fixed with a few setting adjustments that significantly reduce the issue. Sound-wise, the auto mode is fine for casual TV, but the soundstage feels narrow for movies. Switching to Theater mode brings the audio to life. Boost the subwoofer level a bit and it's honestly enjoyable without a soundbar. That said, a soundbar definitely enhances the experience though I do wish the TV's built-in speakers could work in tandem with external audio gear.

I was hesitant on buying a Hisense TV since I knew nothing about the brand. This TV had all the features I wanted and more, the price and screen size were exactly what I was looking for. After researching a bit, I decided to purchase it. I could not be happier with my decision!!! Setup definitely needs two strong people, this TV is very heavy, and you need to mount the legs on, it's pretty easy. Only three screws each leg. When mounted the stand is very sturdy, I was worried it would be flimsy and scared to let my son near it, but it holds up amazing. When you turn the TV on it has to be setup, it takes about 15 min and is very easy. You can connect your Google account. A really cool feature is you can out your personal photos as a screen saver! Im very impressed with the quality of the picture and the responsiveness. It's so clear you would think the people were real!

The Hisense - 98" Class QD5 Series QLED 4K UHD Smart Google TV checks all the boxes with my family and I. It’s a great addition to our media room and my kids are in love with the larger than life picture. The picture quality is outstanding and movie watching experience is great. Sports our spot on as the refresh rate is fantastic. Sound quality is perfect in our space, no need for external speakers. User interface is excellent and very user friendly, even for children. Remote could me better quality in my opinion, but still good. Overall we couldn’t be happier.

We went back and forth on whether to get one this much bigger than our current TV, but in the end we decided—why not? Unboxing was simple, and using a dolly to lift it for the legs was the best choice since it was just my husband and me. The built-in handles on the back made a huge difference—I’m only 4’11 and he’s 5’9, so lifting it was definitely a challenge, but manageable. I was surprised by how much metal there is on the back and how heavy it is. At 124 lbs, it’s heavier than our 100-lb-rated stand, so we’ll be reinforcing it to make sure there are no issues. Once we had the legs on, setup and registration were quick and easy. Even though our new TV stand hasn’t arrived yet, we couldn’t resist trying it out. The difference in color and crispness is amazing, and the size is perfect for our living room. We usually watch TV while eating dinner, and this will make that even more enjoyable, especially when family visits. I love the screensaver option with personal photos, and I plan to update it with recent family pictures soon. The remote is also super convenient—having quick buttons for Netflix, Disney+, and other apps saves time compared to navigating menus. My only small wish is that the remote charged via USB-C or solar instead of using batteries, but that’s not a dealbreaker. Overall, we’re thrilled with this upgrade—it’s already making our movie nights and everyday viewing so much better!

The 98" Hisense 98QD5QG completely transformed my living room. At 98 inches, it feels like having a full-on movie theater at home. I had been considering getting a projector for that big-screen experience, but I’m so glad I went with this TV instead. It’s just as immersive as a projector, but with incredible image quality, bright and vivid day or night. The picture quality is perfect. Colors are vibrant, contrast is deep, clearness of movement is super great. What really surprised me, though, was the sound quality. I expected to need a soundbar, but the built-in speakers actually fill the room impressively well, and perform as well as my soundbar. Another highlight for me is the Google TV interface. It’s clean, intuitive, and really easy to use. Switching between apps or finding what to watch feels smooth and natural. Overall, I’m really happy with this TV.

Love this TV. Shows an incredible picture. It was bought to replace a projector and theater screen. It is so much better than what we had before. It is a heavy set but because we have it sitting on a built in cabinet it does not matter. I might be concerned if mounting on wall without support.

The Photos I posted don't do this TV Justice. This tv is amazing, not only in its size but in its price as well. My first thought was this needs to be placed across the other side of a room. Totally not the case. I have this tv 8 to 10' from my sitting area depending on what side of the couch you sit on. Its not too big. The picture quality is amazing. Its so much more realistic. The dark scenes aren't so dark. The sound quality from the built in speakers is great as well it adapts to the area your in. It doesn't get soft and loud when changing from a movie to a commercial The built in Google software and available videos are so smooth and transitioning from one to another is simple and easy. If you're looking for a new tv. Take a look at this one. Make a step up and get the size. You won't regret it. Everyone I have shown this tv to loves it.

Hisense 98" Class QD5 TV is phenomenal! The screen is gigantic and has very good resolution. Watching it is a pleasant experience as the objects on the screen are very vivid. After mounting this TV on the wall, the living room now provides a cinematic experience. Surround sound and voice quality is quite amazing as well. Watching movies and action filled sport events is fun to view on this TV as the resolution is amazing providing clear, rich picture. Cartoons and animated videos provide a very vibrant viewing experience. The remote is user friendly and has soft buttons which makes it easier to select channels or increase volume. Overall, Hisense made an amazing TV with a huge screen and pleasurable viewing experience.

I’m extremely happy with this TV and feel it offers great value for the price. The picture quality is crisp and vibrant, with deep blacks and bright, accurate colors that make movies, sports, and shows look fantastic. Even in a well-lit room, the screen remains clear with minimal glare. The sound quality is better than expected for a flat-screen TV, and while a soundbar would enhance it further, the built-in speakers are more than sufficient for everyday viewing. Setup was quick and straightforward, and the smart features are easy to navigate. Apps load fast, and switching between inputs is smooth. The design is sleek and modern, with thin bezels that give it a premium look. It fits perfectly in my living room and feels well-built. PLEASE NOTE: the 3 stars is for misleading size specifications, not picture quality, which I cannot even test at this point. The ONLY reason I bought this TV was because it said in multiple places the legs are 50" apart, which would fit my existing 55" stand. Though there is 1 image that says 59.9" apart, a review of the Q&A at the time (black friday) showed 50" to be accurate. For $999 at the time, I bought it and scheduled a closer to Xmas delivery to surprise the mister, who'd wanted at least a 75" upgrade. I figured this was a "hold my beer" moment to REALLY surprise him. Yeah, well, BOTH of these measurements are wrong - the inside distance is 69" apart as we found out only after clearing off the old TV, maneuvering this beast into our room, and then tearing off the protective bag to install the legs. Yeah, no. Not even close to 50" or even 59.9" as shown on the website, and of course now there's a review from 25 days ago that says the legs are 69" apart. Now I'm faced with either returning it or spending another chunk of $$$ to get a different stand, which is ALSO a problem as so far the only TV console wide enough to accommodate the 19" legs is $599. So yeah... BUYER BE AWARE... and no, I don't mean "beware" because I'm sure it's a great TV otherwise. I wouldn't know because I haven't got a place to use it yet thanks to this kerfuffle. If we keep it I'll update later with a quality review, but for now I'm too frustrated at the ruined gift to make a decision. So to recap - THE STAND LEGS ARE ~69" APART (~70" outer width) and *NOT* the 50" as advertised.

We upgraded from a 2020 Hisense 75" Android TV to the 98" QD5 QLED, and after a week, we're really impressed. Mounted in our basement, the size and picture quality make movie nights, and game days feel like a theater experience. The colors are bright, sharp and a big step up from our older model. Google TV is easy to use and runs smoothly. The built-in speakers are decent, but adding a soundbar makes a big difference. Motion can be slightly uneven in fast scenes, but overall, this is a fantastic upgrade for a cinematic home setup.

This TV is more than I expected. The color is fantastic and the picture is clear and vibrant. The setup was very easy and the Smart TV functions are easy and easily available. This TV does not need a soundbar due to its amazing sound (very loud and clear). The picture refresh is amazing and provides great picture when watching tv and great for movies. Love love love!

Wow is this TV incredible. At 98 inches you can see the screen with great clarity from across the room and it feels like you are right amongst the action on the screen. The 4k resolution provides a clear picture and the built in google assistant makes finding shows easy. The QLED colors are nice and bright, making every image pop on the screen. Sound is perfect and envelopes us.

This TV is massive (98 inch) and super high quality! Even though it’s large the coloring and uniformity of the screen are very high quality. The tv picture looks pretty great. My only issue is we are big YouTube TV people which Google TV is supposed to have. However when we try to find the app or search it says item not found (see attatched photo) so that’s been pretty annoying. Having to chromecast from my phone until we figure it out. But bedsides that we like it so far. Haven’t gotten to hang it up yet as it’s massive and need a few extra hands. The voice control so far works great for searching! This TV is great for watching sports and also very cinematic for movies! It’s perfect for an mancave or home theatre! Overall would highly recommended this TV for the man cave!

I am so impressed by this TV! This Hisense TV supports Apple AirPlay for smooth streaming and also integrates with Apple Homekit and works with Alexa for smart control. I like how it features 4 ports of HDMI 2.1 so I can plug in other devices. The screen has such rich, vibrant, and realistic color. I like how it includes a Voice Remote with Google Assistant to easily change channels, launch apps, etc, The QLED tech gives a sharper and more colorful image, as well as a better viewing angle. The 98” screen size creates a truly cinematic experience at home. My husband wanted a projector, but we realized that the quality wouldn't compare against a TV. This was a great purchase that exceeded expectations and all my friends and family are jealous when they see it. I really like this TV and would definitely recommend it!

Beautiful clear picture. Its like being at the movies. 1st time ive ever own this brand and am pretty impressed with it. Glad i snatched it up, the price was right.

I really, really wanted to be satisfied with this TV. It had good specs and the price was right. There weren't any on store display so I had nothing to judge from. The screen had light bleeds on the outside edges and some uneven lighting in the center. The colors sometimes look washed out, others sometimes vibrant. Reds seem to glow unusually. AI pretty quickly decided that I didn't want to keep it for the long run. I'm glad for doing business with Best Buy. I ended up choosing a 98-in TCL which they delivered and picked up this Hisense model.
