After watching the first 2 Hobbits then this one, I'm a bit disappointed in this one. All they did was fight the whole movie, there was no story to it. Maybe because I've read the book, that's ruined the movies though. Still worth the watch.

I enjoyed the Lord of the Rings series so much more. The Hobbit series was just so long and drawn out. There is no reason it should of been stretched out to 3 movies. Now they are going to release the Extended Cuts. Sorry, I am tapping out. Tap Tap

Wasn't a fan of them making The Hobbit into 3 separate films and this just solidified my feelings. It's long and drawn out, but that may be because I'm a fan of the books. Might be much better for someone who hasn't read the books a few times

Thought it was really cool when I saw it at the theater, but the charm has worn off. May be the series climax, but quite possibly not the strongest of the three. Definitely plenty of action to go around, but Tolkein purists will be disappointed.

The extended scenes make this 2 star movie into a 3 star movie. There is some added emotion and gore that improve it a little. Haven't made it through the appendices yet. This is a must have, but only to complete your Tolkien collection.

The 3d technology that Peter Jackson uses is remarkable and displays great. Unfortunately, it was a mistake to stretch out the Hobbit into 3 movies. This third installment wasn't as good as the first two. Still, had to buy it though!

This movie is great up till the end. It's the end of the series and the beloved main character has to loose all of his friends and his home is cleaned out as well! Not a good ending. Rather disappointing. The 3D is wonderful anyway!

The Blu Ray release of this movie disappointed me because it is missing a lot of extras that are usually present on the other Tolkien films. The movie is great, but if you are expecting something after the movie look elsewhere.

I hadn't seen the actual movie in theater and probably still would have epic has ed just to complete my collection but u was highly disappointed in how the movie progressed and all. The product (DVD) itself preformed perfectly.

Bought it so I would have all the middle earth movies. I thought that as the movies progress they relied more on computer effects and less on practical shots, story and scripting. The original LOTR movies were better.

After watching 2 great Hobbitt films, you have to buy the 3rd and complete the trilogy. It was average, my least favorite of the 3. I enjoyed the action sequences, and went to get a snack during the romance scenes.

Disappointed, expected the final film to go out with a bang, not a wimper, but needed to see after having purchased the Lord of the Rings and the other Hobbits

this series biggest fault is that it comes from a light sided story that try to mimics it self to the The Lord of the Rings saga a much darker story , it looks beautiful but most of all forgettable

This movie pales in comparison to the Lord of the Rings films, and is the weakest of The Hobbit movies. However, this is a necessary edition to a complete collection of an overall awesome series of films.

Bloated, Unnecessary Money-Grab

The Peter Jackson money-making machine just keeps churning out the hits... in this case, the third film in what should have been a two film series (at most). Filled with unnecessary action scenes, weak attempts at romance that wasn't in the book, and ridiculous scenarios that would have Tolkien spinning in his grave... at the cost of good story-telling and the integrity of everyone involved. Sorry, but Jackson is suffering from the same self-affliction that brought down George Lucas after EMPIRE: in his arrogance he fired everyone brave enough to say "stop - you've gone to far".

overall the hobbit trilogy was a disappointment. it was no where near as good as the LOTR trilogy. I would stay away from the 3D because it is nothing great. there were times I forgot it was a 3D movie.

Consistent over detailing movie narrative for a classic read. Acting is expectantly competent. No complaint about production. Still wondering if the trilogy could not have been made as a single one.
