The sound did not not match up with the movement of the actors mouths. I would recommend this movie, only with a warranty that if it did not work you could return it.

Disappointing, confusing, and just plain weird final episode. Not nearly as good as the original 3 episodes.

Better off buying the extended edition, as the theatrical release had a very shortened battle scene.

Bought it for my mom for Mothers Day. We loved it. She now owns the Extended Editions of the Tolkien Franchise.

Liked, not loved it, but still a must-see...ONCE

I have seen every single LOTR and Hobbit flick, and I have loved all of them except this one. This one I only enjoyed mildly. The king was annoying as all frack, and the story was kinda weak, but still, overall, I'd say yeah, you've made through 150 hours of all the other movies in this series (Frodo's and Bilbo's respective stories), you may as well finish the lot by mucking through this last decade-long installment. Despite the INCREDIBLE INCREDIBLE OPENING DRAGON SCENE, I don't think I could watch it again. Literally, from here on in, when I watch all these flicks, I'll just mentally wrap them up with the conclusion of the dragon/town scene. Thank you, Mr. Cumberbatch!

Everyone's a critic! The book was dragged into three movies that do not do the book justice, however, the three movies, especially this one are far better than most of the cinematic garbage coming out these days! The graphics, effects and story are awesome in the finale! Enjoy!

I have been a fan of The Lord of The Rings for a long time, and The Hobbit is every bit as awesome. I preordered the steelbook version, and not only did I get it for almost 50% off (I paid around $15 with tax and shipping) but I got the digital copy the same day as iTunes, and the Blu-ray came the day before it's official release.
The video and sound quality of this movie is absolutely breathtaking, I highly recommend this movie. Plus, the steelbook looks awesome and is only a few extra $ (splurge a little)

Seemless extended inserts

The extended edition of the final part of the Hobbit was very well done. I recognized some of the insertions and others were so gently contiguous--such as parts of the battle scenes--that unless you were watching them on a split screen you wouldn't notice them. A few light moments, like Gandalf getting his staff from Radagast and not being able to work it right, the death of Alfrid (the weasily underling lof Laketown's Master). Well put together. Seemless integration.

Solid Movie

I never read the book; I'd really like to but I've read plenty of discussions on how this is an "embarrassment" to Tolkin. Taking it as the ending movie of the Hobbit trilogy though, I think its well made. I try hard not to compare books to movie versions because you some "artistic" input by the screen writer and director to make the movie theirs. IMO it's better to see the movies and books as two separate works.

Great Packaging

Movie was pretty good, I like coming to Best Buy for their packaging options, seem to be a lot of collectible cases that Best Buy gets that not many other places do. As always, the price is very reasonable. Many of my 600+ film collection has come from Best Buy, and at these prices & options, I don't see any reason why that won't continue for future new releases :).

An Excellent Conclusion to the Hobbit Trilogy

I have to say that I enjoyed this film. The CGI was excellent, as always, and the battle scenes epic. From Smaug's attack on the city, to the battle itself, this movie was enjoyable from start to finish - if you don't minfd that it was certainly not 100% representative of JRR Tolkien's work. I do wish Jackson had remained more true to the book. Having now seen all the Hobbit movies, I'd rather he had just made one film, true to the novel, even if it was a three or four hour couchfest.

Good Movie and Great Blu Ray

While The Hobbit trilogy is not as good as the Lord Of The Rings, this conclusion is a good movie and decent end to this trilogy. The Blu Ray for the extended edition is amazing though just as the previous Blu Ray/DVD extended editions were.It has everything you could want to know about the making of this movie.

I am a big fan of both The Hobbit & The Lord of the Rings movies. The Battle of the Five Armies is possibly the best of the trilogies. Follow the Company of Thorin Oakenshield as they finally reclaim their homeland, and then fight to defend it.
